Chapter 34

The deceased was not Mr. Lin, but Yang Anan, the younger sister of singer Yang.

This was something no one present had expected.

As a temporary detective, Zhong Sisi brought everyone to the living room.

"After the police investigation, no one present could be ruled out as a suspect."

“Therefore, as suspects in this case, I hope you can cooperate with the police and give a detailed description of what you did from the time you arrived at the villa yesterday until you found the deceased.”

After saying this, Zhong Sisi's eyes moved around the faces of the people in the living room, and finally landed on the person in the corner: "Yu's wife, you come first."

Yu Ci raised his eyebrows and glanced at Zhong Sisi with a half-smile.

Zhong Sisi shrank her neck and hid herself behind the camera.

Yu Ci retracted his gaze, sat up straight, and casually scanned the faces of everyone in the living room: "I was sleeping upstairs yesterday afternoon. I didn't come downstairs during dinner because I was not feeling well."

"Later, around seven o'clock, I felt a little hungry, so I went to the kitchen and asked the maid to cook me some noodles."

"Around 7:30, I finished my noodles and went to the garden to relax. Oh, by the way," Yu Ci glanced at Yang Gege who looked dazed across from him, "I also ran into Yang Gege in the garden."

"I returned to my room around eight o'clock, and at 10:30 at night, I went out to take care of some personal matters."

When talking about personal matters, Yu Ci curled his lips, leaned back, and sat lazily on the back of the sofa, with a somewhat intriguing expression.

"Around eleven o'clock, I went back to my room to wash up and rest, and then I didn't go out again."

"Next, every time you finish speaking, you can choose who to speak next." Zhong Sisi was too lazy to host and simply let them speak at their own pace: "Yu's wife, you choose the next one."

Yu Ci casually pointed to someone in the crowd: "Singer Yang, it's you."

Yang Ge seemed to still be immersed in the grief of his sister's inexplicable death. When his name was called, he was still a little dazed: "I came at two o'clock in the afternoon. Around two-fifty-five, I went out to do some personal business and stayed in the room since then."

Doctor Zhao interrupted him: "Private matter?"

Singer Yang nodded: "Yes, it's a personal matter."

Seeing that Dr. Zhao had no intention of continuing to ask, Yang Ge continued, "It was not until around 4:50 in the afternoon that I felt a little chest tightness, so I went to the garden downstairs to relax. Later at 5:30, Butler Chen came up and asked us to have dinner."

Butler Chen poured him a cup of warm water. Yang Ge took it and his pale face recovered a little. He continued, "After dinner, I was a little full, so I went to the garden to digest the food. I met Mrs. Yu on the way. I didn't walk for long before I went back to my room to wash up."

"Later," Yang Ge paused and rubbed the water glass with his fingers: "At eleven o'clock, I went out to take care of some of my own affairs. At twelve o'clock, I returned to the room. I didn't go out until I heard Dr. Zhao screaming this morning."

"What private matter requires you to take care of it for an hour?" Wan Baojie stared at him for a few seconds and asked directly, "Kill someone?"

"That's my sister! My own sister!" Singer Yang couldn't control his emotions and yelled out, his eyes bloodshot: "Why would I kill my sister?"

Cheng's son sneered and looked away: "Who knows?"

"Let me tell you the next one."

He flipped through his script: "At 2:30, I brought a bowl of sugar water from the kitchen to my father and discussed some things with him. At around 3:10, I came out of the study and ran into Lawyer Shi who was about to go in."

Cheng Ke winked at Shi Jin and continued, "After that I went back to my room to rest, and then at half past five housekeeper Chen came up to call me down to eat."

"After dinner, I went back to my room to rest. I ran into Wan Baojie at the door of the study, and then Lawyer Shi came up. We chatted briefly, and then Dr. Zhao came out of the study, and everyone went back to their rooms."

"It was probably around 10:15." Cheng's son took a sip of water and said, "I remembered that I had something to tell my father. I saw the light in the study, so I went there. But there was no one in the study, so I left."

Shi Jin's eyebrows moved slightly: "How do you know there's no one in the study?"

Cheng Ke curled her lips, revealing two dimples on her cheeks: "Because I knocked on the door for a long time, but no one came to open the door for me."

Shi Jin was unmoved by his smile and added something expressionlessly on the notebook: "You didn't go out again after you returned to your room?"

Cheng Ke tilted his head, looked at him with a smile, and did not answer.

Shi Jin noticed that when Cheng Ke remained silent instead of answering, Dr. Zhao bit his lip, as if he wanted to say something, but ultimately did not open his mouth.

He lowered his eyes and circled Cheng's son's name with the tip of his pen: "I'm fine now."

Yu Ci's eyes swept across the notebook in Shi Jin's hand, twirled the pen, leaned forward, and lowered his voice: "Suspect him?"

The warm air was steaming around my ears, and the deep voice was scratching my eardrum like a cello, making my earlobes numb.

Shi Jin subconsciously touched his earlobe and said, "Well, at the moment, his description is the most suspicious."

Yu Ci raised his eyebrows, stretched out his arms, and leaned lazily on the back of the sofa.

Shi Jin pursed her lips and looked at him: "You don't agree?"

"No." Yu Ci curled his lips and looked out the window casually: "I agree with your suspicion."

Outside the window, a tall black dog was lying in front of its kennel, sleeping soundly with its head resting on its head.

Inside the house, the timeline sorting process is more than halfway completed.

Doctor Zhao is the next to explain the timeline.

"I always examine Mr. Lin at 3 p.m., but today when I rushed to the villa from home at 3 p.m., I learned from Butler Chen that Mr. Lin was meeting with guests in his study."

"At 3:30, I was instructed to go to the study to examine Mr. Lin, and I happened to run into Lawyer Shi coming out of the study."

"I went back to my room to rest after finishing the examination at 4:30." Doctor Zhao brushed the hair by his ear and continued, "At 5:30 the housekeeper came to call me downstairs for dinner. Halfway through the meal, Rich Man Lin felt unwell, so I followed him upstairs to examine him until 7 o'clock."

"I went out to do some personal business between 10 and 10:20 p.m. and stayed in my room until this morning when I went to the study and found bloodstains on the door."

No one questioned her timeline, so Dr. Zhao pointed to the next person: "Butler Chen, you go ahead and tell me."

Butler Chen nodded and spoke.

"At 3:20, I went to the study to deliver medicine to the master, and then I supervised the arrangement of the venue in the living room."

He suddenly turned to look at Wan Baojie: "At 4:50, when I came back from the garden, I ran into Wan Baojie at the door. She was holding a bag of garbage and looked panicked, but before I could ask, she had already walked out the door."

Wan Baojie pursed her lips, a little flustered.

Housekeeper Chen looked at her and continued, "I went upstairs to call everyone for dinner at 5:30. Halfway through, I learned that someone seemed to have entered Madam's room in the afternoon, so I went upstairs to check."

"After dinner at 6:30, I directed the servants to clean up the restaurant. At 6:50, I brought water to the master, but the master did not open the door. It was Doctor Zhao who answered the call in the room, came over to open the door and took the water in."

"Then I was busy dealing with matters at the villa until 12:30 at night. I returned to my room and went out again this morning."

Shi Jin frowned.

The housekeeper's timeline after six fifty is too simple.

He was not the only one who had this question. Cheng's son tugged at the tassels on the pillow and questioned, "Have you been dealing with the villa's affairs since 6:50?"

Butler Chen smiled and replied: "As a butler, it is my job to manage the master's villa well."

It seemed like an answer, but it actually answered nothing.

In silence, Wan Baojie looked around and took the initiative to ask: "I'll be the next one."

After getting everyone's nods of approval, she said, "I'm the cleaner. My daily job is to tidy up the rooms. Today at three o'clock, I will start cleaning the house from the third floor as usual."

"Around 4:30, I cleaned my wife's room, and the master suddenly pushed the door open. I was startled and accidentally broke a vase in my wife's room."

Yang Ge's emotions calmed down a bit, and he was in the right state now. Hearing this, he looked at Wan Baojie and said, "So the noise I heard from the third floor this afternoon was caused by you breaking the vase?"

Wan Baojie bit her lip and nodded, "Yes, the master saw that I broke the vase and was very angry. He told me to get out. I picked up the broken pieces of the vase and put them in a bag, then went downstairs to throw away the garbage. That was the time that Butler Chen said he met me at the door just now."

"Rich Man Lin got mad at you at around 4 o'clock, but at 5:30 he was in a good mood and asked you to sit down with him for dinner?" Yang Ge frowned, obviously not understanding. "During dinner, I saw that Rich Man Lin treated you very well."

Wan Baojie pinched the corner of his clothes and said, "Maybe, maybe the master is thinking that tomorrow is his 60th birthday, so he doesn't plan to get angry with a small person like me."

Singer Yang looked at her and didn't comment.

Wan Baojie continued, "Then at half past five I went downstairs with everyone to eat. After dinner, I ran into the young master at the door of the study, and then I went back to my room."

Doctor Zhao asked, "You haven't come out since you returned to your room?"

Wan Baojie hesitated for a moment and said, "It was around eight o'clock in the evening. I went out to take care of some of my own affairs."

"how long?"

"About fifteen minutes?" Wan Baojie thought for a moment and said, "I don't remember clearly, but it wasn't long."

The last person to make a statement was Shi Jin.

He briefly explained his own timeline, and pointed out a common timeline that everyone had just ignored, whether intentionally or unintentionally: "Around nine o'clock in the evening, Butler Chen came over with some sugar water and told me not to go out between nine and ten."

Cheng's son nodded first: "I have one too."

Doctor Zhao and Wan Baojie then nodded: "Me too."

Yu Ci raised his eyebrows: "I didn't, but after I returned to my room, Butler Chen sent someone to remind me of the disinfection time, which was probably around 8:30."

Shi Jin nodded and looked at Yang Ge: "What about you?"

"Why are you all looking at me?" Yang Ge laughed, "Of course I have one too. We are all on the same floor. How could Butler Chen miss me?"
