Akishino was dressed in a white shrine maiden outfit with crimson trousers, red-buttoned straw sandals, and long, flowing hair tied with two long crimson ribbons. A long sword hung at her waist. Wearing this outfit to the airport, travelers would probably think she was some popular celebrity going to an international comic convention.
"How about... we take her to buy some clothes?" Wei Yue asked tentatively.
"Does Akishino only have these few shrine maiden outfits? Don't they have any clothes for ordinary girls?" Duanmu Ci was utterly incredulous. "It's the 21st century already! Even someone as conservative as me wouldn't be like this. How do you raise her? Do you really treat her like a shrine maiden? A modern-day shrine maiden?" Thank goodness, he almost let it slip...
Wei Yue shrugged and said helplessly, "Junior Sister rarely leaves the shrine. Even if we buy her clothes that girls outside wear, she might not have the chance to wear them. Besides, Junior Sister doesn't like them."
Duanmu Ci looked at the red sash tied around the girl's waist, pondered for a long time, and then said decisively, "No! Since Akishino-no-miya is preparing to leave the shrine and enter the world, she should follow the rules of the secular world. She can't wear this outfit forever, can she? She looks like a shrine maiden from the Edo period."
"Shall we take her shopping for clothes now?"
Duanmu Ci took out his phone and glanced at the time. "There's still some time before the plane takes off, hurry back!" He turned to look at the girl and said gently, "Qiu Xiaogong, shall we go shopping together?"
"Yes!" Akishino nodded vigorously.
Wei Yue felt his world collapsing once again. Back when he wanted to take his junior sister out to play, she had never agreed so readily. But now she trusted a man she had only met a few times. Could it be that his position in his junior sister's heart was no longer as good as that of a certain newcomer?
How absurd!
...
...
The three of them jogged through the Shinto and torii gates to leave the shrine, jumped into the car parked at the entrance, the engine roared, and they floored the accelerator. After a beautiful drift, the car disappeared at the intersection.
Logically, if there were enough time, shopping should be done in places like Shibuya or Ginza, but time is of the essence. The plane will take off in a few hours, so I'll just have to make do with Akishino Palace for now and find a shopping center to buy a few decent clothes to tide me over.
As Wei Yue drove, she kept glancing at the intersections on both sides of the road, then seemed to spot something. Suddenly, she slammed on the brakes. "Lucky me, Shibuya 109 Building! Perfect for buying clothes for my junior sister." Built in 1979, Shibuya 109 Building is a dream destination and a place of longing for many Japanese women. It brings together numerous popular brands and cutting-edge trends. Even overseas customers frequently visit, making it a landmark of Tokyo that commands worldwide attention.
Two handsome men, accompanied by a beautiful girl dressed as a shrine maiden, came to buy clothes. This eye-catching pair attracted most of the passing glances the moment they entered the Shibuya 109 building. However, Duanmu Ci and Wei Yue didn't have time to show off their manners; they simply dragged Qiu Xiaogong into a store that looked quite nice.
The shop owner brought out several movable clothes racks for customers to choose from, but Duanmu Ci had no idea how to pick out clothes. Even his own clothes were taken care of by Bu Tongxun; no matter how talented he was, he had never taken a course in women's fashion coordination. As for Wei Yue, needless to say, as a noble young master, he might have some experience in choosing beautiful women, but he was completely helpless when it came to choosing clothes for them.
As for Akishino... never mind. Let's just ignore her. She still doesn't understand what happened; she just feels different from others, and there are many people watching her. She's a little nervous, her right hand unconsciously clenching into a fist, a gesture as if she's about to draw her sword, but unfortunately, her long sword is in the carriage.
The shop owner, a seasoned traveler, immediately saw the customers' predicament and began enthusiastically introducing the styles, using terms like "forest style," "cotton and linen style," and "retro style"... a whole host of terms that left Duanmu Ci dizzy. He waved his hand to interrupt the shop owner's endless boasting, "Enough talk, let's try one of each."
Akishino was ushered into the fitting room by the shop assistant, while Duanmu Ci and Wei Yue sat side by side on the sofa outside. They waited listlessly for the girl to come out; waiting for her to change clothes was undoubtedly a novel experience for them. The other female customers in the store were slightly jealous of the girl dressed in a shrine maiden outfit who seemed to be a pervert. What did she have that she was worthy of having two such handsome men accompany her shopping? So shameless, taking advantage of others—wasn't she afraid of being struck by lightning?
All the unspoken criticism vanished when the girl emerged from the fitting room. She was dressed in a warm-toned "forest style" outfit and light-colored round-toe flats. After a quick glance, the shop owner gently gathered the girl's flowing long hair and tied it into a neat knot. Then, she attentively placed a finely woven wide-brimmed straw hat on the girl's head, completing the task perfectly.
"This little girl is perfect for the 'forest-themed' style!" the shop owner exclaimed, echoing the sentiments of everyone present.
Duanmu Ci thought to himself, "Nonsense, she's always been a 'forest girl'."
