Chapter Forty-Nine: Rose Academy

The establishment of the Longevity Society caused quite a stir within the student body of Haishan University, not only because of its massive scale—virtually swallowing up all the university's clubs—but also because it was indeed related to them.

Many students participated in clubs, which means they were also members of the Longevity Society's subordinate organizations.

This gave them a feeling they couldn't quite explain, but it probably wasn't a bad thing.

The luxurious completion of Duanmu Pavilion and the video footage taken by the news agency at the party that night had a significant impact on the students of Haishan University. The young students suddenly realized that they actually longed for that kind of life, and all of this, which was originally somewhat distant, had now become very close—as long as they joined the Longevity Society.

Perhaps it served as a publicity stunt, or perhaps it was simply a bandwagon effect, but many students who weren't initially enthusiastic about it started to get excited. After all, the main task after entering university isn't just studying; occasionally participating in club activities is the true essence of university life!

Similar arguments were repeatedly brought up on university forums and online communities, with a large number of followers echoing these sentiments. For a time, there was a strong public opinion frenzy, as if going to university and only studying without participating in clubs was a waste of time and money!

This undoubtedly fueled the surge in popularity of the Changsheng Association within the school. If you were to create a data chart of this popularity, you would see that the data bar rose steadily without any sign of decline! It makes one marvel at the power of propaganda and the remarkable ability of the masses to follow trends.

Whenever the topic of publicity comes up, one cannot help but mention Haishan University's most famous paparazzi... the Group News Agency.

Because all those misleading posts online were posted by them...

In other words, they orchestrated a "student movement" performance to lure and attract many relatively innocent students to join in. Their modus operandi—no, their propaganda methods—was almost identical to those of online media trolls. The news agency truly lives up to its reputation as paparazzi—the future elite of the media world!

As for the glamorous dance performed by a teacher and a female student under the spotlight, which attracted widespread attention, it was subtly omitted from the video of the event released by the news agency. Of course, this is one piece of evidence of the teacher abusing his power... In short, thanks to Duanmu Ci's deliberate cover-up, this matter did not cause much of a stir...

But people do have mouths...

Teacher Duanmu, you can't just tell us not to post videos, you can't expect us to shut up...

And even if I did open my mouth and say it, how could you possibly know which mouth was speaking? According to incomplete statistics from the logistics department, there were over a hundred mouths in the venue at the time...

Preventing the people from speaking out is more difficult than preventing a river from overflowing; it's futile.

So the story still spread, albeit to a lesser degree. However, it was all hearsay and lacked concrete evidence. Besides, dancing between men and women at a ball is perfectly normal and a common social custom. To make such a fuss over something like this shows a lack of understanding... those who didn't know the truth simply looked down on them...

The whistleblower panicked. That scene was far from an ordinary social dance between men and women; an editor could cut it out and insert it into a Korean drama without it looking out of place! The romance and glamour were off the charts! It's just a pity that I was wearing a dress and didn't have my phone with me, so I missed it!

Actually, there were videos of the dance, but they were recorded by students at the dinner party using their own phones. The quality was extremely low, and they completely failed to capture the romantic atmosphere of the event, leaving everyone disappointed. They then eagerly awaited the news agency's recording, but unfortunately, the news agency hacked the video! This infuriated the expectant crowd and the curious onlookers!

I wonder how many people are publicly criticizing the news agency online, naming names! (Rumor has it that this includes some news agency employees, such as the photographer from the event that night...)

The head of the news agency, who was taking the blame for the leader (teacher), could only hold the precious equipment given to him by a certain teacher and silently shed tears... The news agency has always been the one to speak freely online, when has it ever been so harshly criticized?

In fact, apart from the news agency, no one else at the party had a complete and clear video of the dance. The news agency was later forced by a teacher's "power" to delete this part from the publicly released recording of the party, and backups were strictly prohibited!

The person who carried out this operation was the president's secretary, Tang Luoluo. For some unknown reasons, Tang Luoluo had a backup, the only backup in the world.

Even Duanmu Ci didn't...

Actually, it wouldn't be right if none of the dance scenes were shown; at least Teacher Duanmu's appearance was broadcast without any pixelation.

Of course, the moment when one teacher stumbled after being pushed by another unscrupulous teacher was perfectly edited out by the editor...

The moment Professor Duanmu appeared, all the lights in the Duanmu Hall went out, leaving only a spotlight shining on him, the circular light spot moving with his silhouette. He wore a well-tailored black suit, his back hidden in the darkness, with only a single red rose blooming on his chest, so vibrant it seemed as if this was the only color adorning the black universe.

Teacher Duanmu's appearance is as stunning as ever, viewers in front of their computer or mobile phone screens thought.
