Chapter 8: Killing people and destroying their hearts, Xie Xihe

Xue Wanyu felt uncomfortable being looked at by Old Master Xie. She felt guilty, ashamed, and angry.

While she was thinking about how to clear her suspicion, Yu Guangzhong suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. She was moved and immediately walked over to him.

"Mom, you're here." Xue Wanyu called out, her voice as gentle as usual, but with a hint of suppressed grievance.

Old Madam Xie was very familiar with her daughter-in-law, so she naturally noticed it and frowned slightly.

He glanced at the people present who were clearly acting strangely, focusing on Xie Xihe for two seconds. His expression immediately darkened as he asked, "What happened again? Why are you all standing here?"

Xue Wanyu lowered her eyes and said nothing.

Madam Xie looked towards Xie Tingyuan and said in a deep voice, "Tingyuan, you speak."

Xie Tingyuan actually didn't dare to do that.

Although the old man in his family has always been gentle and elegant in the eyes of outsiders, no one knows better than him that once things involve Xie Xihe, he will immediately transform into an old beast protecting his cubs.

All the elegance and gentlemanly demeanor were thrown into some corner by him.

If he was really angry with Xie Xihe and didn't want to care about her anymore, it would be fine, but the situation was obviously not like that now...

Xie Tingyuan was hesitant.

Mrs. Xie got angry when she saw him like this, and couldn't help but glared at him: "I'm asking you a question!"

Xie Tingyuan opened his mouth, but stopped again when he caught a glimpse of the old man's gloomy face. He looked gloomy and speechless.

Seeing this, Xue Wanyu's expression finally turned ugly. While secretly cursing her husband's inexperience, she quickly adjusted her mood and showed a self-blaming expression, saying, "Mom, this is all my fault. Let me tell you."

Madam Xie said with a sullen face, "Speak."

Xue Wanyu's face was filled with increasing self-blame. She said, "We were discussing Xiaoxi's scandals. Dad suspected that Tingyuan and I were behind this."

In the end, he couldn't help but tear up. He glanced at Mr. Xie and continued, "Dad, I don't know why you doubt us so much, but I can swear that I have never done such a thing and I will never do it."

"There are surveillance cameras at the entrance and in the living room. I checked the surveillance during your surgery and confirmed that this was a deliberate revenge by Xiaoxi's haters. If you still don't believe me, I can pull up the surveillance and show it to you."

Mr. Xie didn't say anything and continued to look at her quietly.

Madam Xie could no longer suppress her anger. She raised her hand and placed the food box she had brought with her heavily on the bedside table, angrily saying, "Xie Bowen, that's enough!"

"I know you've always been partial to your precious daughter. That's your freedom, so I won't say anything. But can you please be reasonable?"

"Just like Xie Xihe said, she has no reason to harm you, but what about my son and daughter-in-law? Do they already have one?!"

"Don't you know the Xie family's situation as well as others? Tingyuan's investment failed, and they lost a huge amount of money. They barely managed to get through this matter thanks to your connections. Now the Xie family is empty-handed, and so many people are waiting to see the joke. At this critical juncture, if even you get into trouble, what will the Xie family rely on to support it?"

"They must have been kicked in the head by a donkey to do something like this!"

Xie Xihe had been quietly watching them perform, but upon hearing this, she couldn't help but burst out laughing and interrupted, "Old lady, do you know how old your son is this year?"

Madam Xie's face twisted, and she responded reflexively: "Who are you calling old lady? You are the old lady!"

Looking at Xie Xihe's beautiful and charming face, everyone: "..."

Xie Xihe didn't argue with her and continued, "Your son, my eldest brother, is forty-two years old this year, not twenty-four."

"So what?!"

Xie Xihe raised his eyes to look at Xie Tingyuan, his expression dull. "Your 42-year-old son has achieved nothing in his middle age, yet he was so soft-hearted that he believed others' lies and engaged in some kind of financing investment. After the investment failed, not only did he empty the family's savings, but he also had to rely on his old father's connections to barely settle the matter."

"Is such a shameful thing worth bringing up specifically?"

Now not only Old Madam Xie, but even Xie Tingyuan and Xue Wanyu had their expressions changed drastically. They were so embarrassed that they wished they could find a hole in the ground to crawl into!

Xie Xihe continued, "Also, your understanding of your son might be a little skewed. With his IQ, it doesn't really matter whether he was kicked by a donkey or not."

What does it mean to kill someone and destroy their heart?

That's it!

Xie Tingyuan's face turned purple as he stared at Xie Xihe, wishing he could use a needle to sew up that chattering mouth!

Old Madam Xie was so angry that her whole body was shaking. She pointed her finger at Xie Xihe and kept saying "you" for a long time, but she couldn't even say a complete sentence.

The only one who could still laugh was Mr. Xie.

Although the person being scolded was his own son, Mr. Xie felt refreshed.

Yes, it is so unfair.

Madam Xie took a while to catch her breath. Her face was gloomy as she said, "Xie Xihe, stop talking nonsense. I just want to ask you, is your father's illness caused by reading all that negative information about you?!"

"No matter what the truth behind this matter is, it all started because you ignored warnings and insisted on entering the entertainment industry. There's no way you can get away with this!"

Xie Xihe's expression was calm. He didn't answer her directly. Instead, he turned his head to look at Xue Wanyu and asked casually, "What do you think, sister-in-law?"

Xue Wanyu's heart skipped a beat, and she said softly, "Sister-in-law naturally believes you. Although you have always refused to say it, sister-in-law believes that you must have your reasons for doing this."

She turned her head to look at Old Madam Xie, her voice softening as she advised, "Mom, of all the children in our family, Xiaoxi is the most filial to Dad. But this time, she ignored Dad's objections and insisted on entering the entertainment industry. She must have had her own reasons. Please don't blame her."

Xie Xihe chuckled.

"Laugh! You can actually still laugh! Look at what you've done to our wonderful family. Xie Xi and I are telling you, either you quit the entertainment industry right now, or get out..."

Mrs. Xie became angry when she saw her and started scolding her immediately, but she was interrupted by the girl's casual voice halfway through her words.

"I say," Xie Xihe glanced at everyone in the ward, casually pulled out a medical record from the end of the bed and raised it, "It's been two hours since my dad came out of the ICU, and no one has looked at his medical records?"

She flipped it open casually and continued in a casual voice, "Primary cerebral hemorrhage, and...malignant liver tumor."

She looked at Xue Wanyu again: "Did I remember it wrongly or did you forget, sister-in-law? Don't you know why I entered the entertainment industry?"
