Chapter 23 Lord, you're spoiling your wife and betraying your brothers!

Bai Qianmo glanced at Gu Jueye indifferently: "Mr. Gu, I'm here today to return your umbrella. If there's nothing else, I won't bother you any longer."

After saying that, Bai Qianmo handed the black umbrella in her hand to Gu Jueye.

The man lowered his deep eyes and remained silent.

He reached out his slender hand and took it.

“It’s just an umbrella, Miss Bai, you didn’t really need to come all the way here in person.”

Ji Cong'an rolled his eyes at him from the side.

When you gave that girl the umbrella, your intentions weren't pure, were they?

When someone comes to you, they're probably secretly delighted, yet they deliberately say things they don't mean.

Tsk tsk, Sir, you're quite the repressed pervert.

Go all out and pretend!

"You have to pay me back. This umbrella wasn't cheap, and I also owe you money for a meal."

Bai Qianmo spoke in a calm tone.

She didn't say it explicitly, but Gu Jueye understood what she meant.

"Then let's owe it for now. Miss Bai can invite me whenever she has time."

Bai Qianmo pursed her rosy lips.

He was afraid that if she invited him again and he paid the bill, it would never end.

Ji Cong'an coughed softly from the side.

"Well, there's no time like the present, Miss Bai, how about today?"

Gu Jueye stared at Bai Qianmo with his deep eyes, without saying a word.

Bai Qianmo was silent for a few seconds, then nodded.

"I have some time today, Mr. Gu, where would you like to have dinner?"

In the pause between words, Gu Jueye took off his white coat and casually draped it over the back of the sofa.

A pure white T-shirt and black trousers—simple and clean, exuding a youthful and untainted charm.

Bai Qianmo thought that if it weren't for his deep, cold eyes, his face would truly be ethereal.

Gu Jueye looked at Bai Qianmo with a gentle and composed smile on his handsome face.

"I'm easy, you choose!"

Yuan You, standing three steps away, looked somewhat bewildered on his fair face.

Is this still the same cold, unsmiling boss who exudes an aura that keeps strangers at bay?

Hallucination!

The smiling, gentlemanly boss in front of him must be his hallucination.

Bai Qianmo was unfamiliar with the capital, and Gu Jueye left her with the problem. For a moment, she really didn't know where to eat.

Ji Cong'an raised an eyebrow and suggested with a smile, "It's so hot outside, why don't we eat at home? The kitchen is on the first floor, and there's a supermarket just a five-minute drive away, so we can buy whatever we need anytime."

Bai Qianmo glanced at Gu Jueye and saw that he didn't object.

"Then I'll cook it." Since she owed Gu Jueye a meal, she would cook it herself to repay the favor.

Gu Jueye frowned slightly: "Are you sure?"

There was something slightly strange about his eyes.

Bai Qianmo nodded.

Ji Cong'an asked with a smile, "Miss Bai's cooking skills must be excellent, right?"

"It's alright!" Bai Qianmo didn't offer any further explanation.

He didn't seem to notice the slight freeze on Gu Jueye's handsome face when he said "it's alright."

But Ji Cong'an saw it!

A fragile little heart suddenly plunged into the abyss.

Oh no, something's not right with the lord's expression!

Gu Jueye's lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he said nothing.

Bai Qianmo went into the kitchen on the first floor.

Ji Cong'an and Gu Jueye followed him downstairs, their two tall figures leaning against the dining table.

"My lord, does your wife really know how to cook?"

Gu Jueye's dark eyes were fixed on the slender figure in the kitchen, a look of bewilderment on his face.

"It's alright!" came the reply indifferently.

Following Bai Qianmo's answer exactly, word for word.

Ji Cong'an frowned, a bad feeling creeping into his mind.

Shouldn't he have minded eating at home?

The lord's sarcastic tone suggests he must have personally tried his sister-in-law's cooking!

"There's nothing in the kitchen. We might need to go to the supermarket to buy some ingredients." Bai Qianmo walked out of the kitchen.

His gaze fell on Gu Jueye's face, and he didn't pay much attention to Ji Cong'an's uneasy little expression.

"Um... Miss Bai, actually, there's a pretty bustling street to the left when you go out. There are a lot of restaurants there, and the food is pretty good! How about... we go out to eat?"

Please forgive him for talking nonsense.

The food served at the restaurants on that street was completely unremarkable.

Besides, he's been eating takeout from that street all this time, and he's gotten tired of it.

But getting tired of it is better than dying from it, right?

Bai Qianmo raised her eyebrows slightly, a hint of mockery flashing in her aloof eyes.

Wasn't it his suggestion to eat at home?

How could she possibly miss such a good opportunity to repay a favor?

"I'll do it."

She worried that if they ate out, Gu Jueye would resort to his old tricks again.

Ji Cong'an looked at Gu Jueye with unwavering determination, signaling him to quickly say a few words to persuade his sister-in-law.

Gu Jueye stared at Bai Qianmo's sly little face, his eyes filled with a doting smile.

"Let's go to the supermarket!"

Ji Cong'an felt as if a thunderbolt had struck him directly on the head.

He stared blankly at Gu Jueye, dumbfounded.

This is truly a prime example of spoiling one's wife regardless of his brothers' well-being!

Gu Jueye took the car keys and left the research lab with Bai Qianmo.

After watching his boss and Bai Qianmo leave, Yuan You immediately moved to Ji Cong'an's side.

"Young Master An, what's going on?"

The boss seems to be acting strangely towards this Miss Bai.

Ji Cong'an withdrew his resentful gaze and patted Yuan You on the shoulder: "Just remember, next time Miss Bai comes, be extra obsequious, and you can't go wrong!"
