The moonlight was hazy, with a gray cloud obscuring most of it. The faint light of the distant lighthouse flickered in the darkness, making the night seem even more silent.
Bai Qianmo pushed open the bathroom door. Only the bedside wall lamp was on, and the orange light made the room somewhat dim.
Her gaze drifted toward the balcony, where a tiny spark moved slowly up and down with the man's movements.
"Okay, find them as soon as possible!"
Hearing the noise, Gu Jueye said something to the person on the other end of the phone, stubbed out his cigarette, and turned to walk in.
"The car was found along the riverbank. It was a car with a fake license plate. The driver had abandoned the car and fled. He must have checked the route in advance and parked the car in a blind spot of the surveillance cameras, so they couldn't see the other person's face."
Bai Qianmo frowned slightly: "Since it was planned in advance, the other party must have disguised himself. It should be difficult to find any clues about him inside the car."
Gu Jueye walked to Bai Qianmo's side, took the towel from her hand, and helped her dry her hair.
"I will handle this. All you need to do is protect yourself."
Bai Qianmo nodded obediently.
Gu Jueye, in a very good mood, kissed Bai Qianmo on the forehead: "Dry your hair before you sleep. I'm going to take a shower."
Bai Qianmo stared at his arm wrapped in gauze: "Your arm can't get wet."
Gu Jueye raised an eyebrow, staring at her with a smile: "What? Want to help me?"
This devil is flirting again. She was clearly saying something caring, but his ambiguous remark made her words take on a completely different meaning.
A wave of heat instantly flushed her face, and Bai Qianmo urged, "Go wash your hair quickly, I'm drying it!"
When two people are in the same room, the atmosphere is already ambiguous, and they could easily get into trouble if they're not careful.
Moreover, they hadn't seen each other for over a month, and today's situation was rather unusual, so she'd better not easily start a fire.
Gu Jueye gave a meaningful laugh, shirtless, and casually grabbed a bathrobe from the bed before walking into the bathroom.
After drying her hair, Bai Qianmo took a thin blanket from the closet and went straight to the sofa to sleep.
At first, hearing the sound of running water coming from the bathroom made me uneasy, and I couldn't help but think of some inappropriate images for children.
Perhaps he was too tired from filming during the day, and then he stayed up so late to sleep.
He wrapped himself in a blanket and covered his head, and soon fell asleep.
Gu Jueye came out after taking a shower and was stunned to see that Bai Qianmo was not on the bed. He glanced around and finally his gaze fell on the figure curled up in a ball on the sofa.
The two-seater sofa was barely big enough for an adult. Bai Qianmo had to bend her legs to make do with it.
Gu Jueye stood by the bed and glanced at her quietly, then immediately understood.
She was worried that he might lose control because of the injury on his arm.
Gu Jueye gave a bitter smile to himself. He had endured it all these years, and even if he wanted it, he knew that tonight was not the right time.
A tall, imposing figure walked over, bent down, and gently lifted the person on the sofa into his arms.
The person in his arms seemed to sense something, let out a soft moan, and tightly gripped the collar of his robe with one small hand.
Feeling a familiar surge of heat coursing through his body, Gu Jueye took a deep breath, held his breath, and strode toward the bedside.
He placed Bai Qianmo on the bed, lifted the blanket and covered her with it, then sat on the edge of the bed to calm his mind before lying down as well.
Seemingly sensing the movement, Bai Qianmo turned around and, like a sleeping kitten, approached the source of the heat.
Gu Jueye looked at the little girl who had thrown herself into his arms, a smile playing on his lips. He reached out and patted her head, inhaling the delicate fragrance emanating from her.
That night, Bai Qianmo slept soundly without any dreams.
Gu Jueye barely slept at all because the little girl was too restless in her sleep, which was practically torture for a normal man like him.
In the morning, the doorbell rang.
Gu Jueye glanced at the person in his arms, assuming she was a hotel staff member delivering clothes, and gently got up and got out of bed.
The door opened.
"Qianmo..."
Gu Jueye slowly opened his slightly narrowed eyes, and a large bouquet of roses came into view.
The other person paused for a few seconds, then exclaimed, "Sorry, wrong door!"
Gu Jueye's gaze shifted from the roses to the other person's face, vaguely feeling that the face was somewhat familiar.
I can't quite remember where I've seen her before, but I'm sure she didn't knock on the wrong door.
She's still asleep.
Xia Wei was about to leave with the roses when she heard the man's words at the door. She turned back to look at his face in a daze.
"Oh, you..." are Qianmo's boyfriend!
Meeting Gu Jueye's cold gaze, Xia Wei didn't dare to say the words she was about to utter.
"This flower?"
Seeing the other person staring at the roses in her hand, Xia Wei finally remembered why she had come.
"This is for Qianmo. I brought it up for her yesterday. Could you please take the flowers inside?"
Gu Jueye reached out and took it. Xia Wei felt that this man's eyes were terrifying, even more so than when he was facing Mr. Guo.
After Gu Jueye accepted the roses, she didn't even say goodbye and ran away in a flash.
