Chapter 264 One Step Away from Living Together

Old Qin stormed out of the study and into the living room, where he saw Old Pei sitting on the sofa, sipping tea as if they were old friends.

Old Qin glared at him angrily: "What's going on today?"

Old Pei turned his head and glanced outside: "It looks like a northwest wind."

Old Qin walked over with his hands behind his back, and snorted coldly: "So you and your apprentice sang in unison, putting on a show of borrowing arrows with straw boats here?"

Old Pei chuckled: "It's no big deal for your own grandson to borrow something."

"He borrowed something? He's ripped two pounds off my flesh! Tell me, where is that brat? I'm going to break his legs right now."

"If you don't want to see your great-grandson sooner, then go and break his legs."

Old Qin's arrogance immediately subsided by half, and he squinted at Old Pei: "What do you mean?"

Old Pei took a sip of tea and glanced at Old Qin indifferently: "He is at the Bai family's place right now. If the deal goes through, you'll at most lose two jars of good wine and a calligraphy brush. But if the deal falls through... you might never see your beloved grandson get married and start a family in your lifetime."

Old Qin was silent for a moment: "So, that brat used my things to curry favor with his future in-laws?"

Old Pei laughed and said, "You want to break his legs too?"

Old Qin remained silent, his chest still feeling tight. Old Pei smiled and poured him a cup of tea: "Calm down. You're so old, why are you still so impatient? Do you think you're scolding greenhorns in the army?"

Old Qin raised his head and took a big gulp of tea before slamming the teacup down.

"If he succeeds in this matter, fine. But if he loses everything, I'll still break his legs."

At the dining table, Gu Jueye personally opened a jar of wine.

Grandpa Bai, Bai Kangcheng, and Gu Jueye had a few drinks together, and Grandpa Bai's attitude towards Gu Jueye softened considerably.

After dinner, Gu Jueye was a little drunk, so Xu Hualan instructed Zhang Sao to prepare the guest room next to Bai Qianmo's bedroom for Gu Jueye to rest in.

Grandpa Bai and Bai Kangcheng also drank quite a bit, and after the meal they went back to their respective rooms for a nap.

Xu Hualan cooked a pot of hangover soup and asked Bai Qianmo to take a bowl to Gu Jueye.

Bai Qianmo came to the backyard, pushed open the door of the guest room, and walked in.

Gu Jueye lay on his side on the bed, his eyes slightly closed, a faint blush of intoxication on his porcelain-white face.

Bai Qianmo walked to the bedside and placed the hangover soup on the bedside table. She saw that Gu Jueye was sleeping soundly and hadn't even covered himself with a blanket.

She bent down and pulled the blanket over Gu Jueye, preparing to cover him with it.

A strong arm suddenly hooked around her waist. She was already bent over, and with a little force from the other person, her whole body fell towards the man beneath her.

The next second, a faint scent of alcohol lingered in my ears, followed by a deep, mellow laugh.

Bai Qianmo propped her head up and looked at the man beneath her: "You're not drunk?"

"A few drinks, it's not that serious."

Bai Qianmo raised an eyebrow: "So you pretended to be drunk halfway through the trip to try and escape the drinking?"

Gu Jueye held Bai Qianmo's head and gently pressed it down. Her soft lips landed steadily on his lips, pecking and sucking for a while before reluctantly pulling away.

"Silly boy, breathe."

Bai Qianmo's face turned bright red as she took a deep breath.

Seeing her charming and unaware appearance, Gu Jueye felt a tickle in his heart. He reached out his thumb and gently stroked her porcelain-white cheek: "How can I have time to be alone with you if I don't get drunk?"

Bai Qianmo chuckled: "Grandpa's attitude towards you seems to have softened quite a bit today."

Gu Jueye gently stroked her back with one hand, his eyes revealing shrewdness: "Yes, we're one step closer to marrying you."

Bai Qianmo raised an eyebrow and said, "Mr. Gu, I'm still young."

Gu Jueye's gaze slowly moved down along Bai Qianmo's cunning eyes. Today she was wearing a white round-neck sweater, a loose Korean-style design with a wide neckline that revealed a pair of beautiful collarbones.

"It's not young anymore." The man's throat moved slightly, and his voice was a little dry.

Bai Qianmo followed his gaze and looked down, immediately understanding what he meant.

I was referring to age!

Gu Jueye's lips curled slightly as he teased, "I was referring to age, what did you think it was?"

Bai Qianmo: "..."

So you're blaming her for having dirty thoughts? It was clearly your eyes that were wandering around!

Forget it, she can't beat him when it comes to being a thug.

Bai Qianmo quickly climbed off Gu Jueye and picked up a bowl of hangover soup from the bedside table.

"Your mother cooked this for you herself, so don't let her kindness go to waste."

I'll make you pretend to be drunk!

Gu Jueye saw the teasing look in the little girl's eyes, chuckled helplessly, sat up, took a bowl of hangover soup, and drank a few mouthfuls.

His handsome face furrowed tightly.

Bai Qianmo raised an eyebrow and smiled: "Not good?"

Gu Jueye's long eyelashes trembled slightly, and a smile flashed in his eyes.

He took a big gulp of the hangover soup, grabbed Bai Qianmo by the back of the head, and suddenly kissed her pink and alluring lips.

Bai Qianmo frowned and reached out to push him away, but Gu Jueye hooked his arm around her waist and held her tightly in his arms.

Seeing the girl's gentle and charming appearance in his arms, Gu Jueye's deep eyes shimmered, and he leaned over to give her a light peck on the lips.

I really want to take you home.

He joked, "You might really need to take me back today."

Gu Jueye's deep eyes narrowed slightly as he propped himself up, a glint of light gathering in his dark gaze.

"Seriously?"

Bai Qianmo raised an eyebrow and said, "Mm."
