Lan Yi took her to a place
Lu Yin opened her eyes and found herself lying on her bed in her apartment. Sunlight streamed through the curtains, falling on her face like a thin veil, soft and warm. She rubbed her eyes, picked up her phone, and a message jumped out at her: "Lu Yin, are you free this weekend? I'd like to take you somewhere." —From Lan Yi. Her heart skipped a beat, and her fingertips lightly traced across the screen, as if she were touching the gentle, breezy Lan Yi from two years ago.
On a weekend morning, Lu Yin stood at the agreed-upon spot, her heart pounding. She wore the light blue dress that Lan Yi had once praised, the hem fluttering gently in the breeze, just like the way she looked standing by the coffee shop window when they first met. In the distance, a familiar figure slowly approached—it was Lan Yi. He wore the gray knit sweater she had given him, the cuffs still carrying a faint scent of coffee—a mark of the countless nights they had spent together.
"Have you been waiting long?" Lan Yi's voice was low and gentle, with a slight, almost imperceptible tremor. Lu Yin shook her head, her eyes slightly red: "No, I'm just... a little nervous." She reached out her hand, and Lan Yi gently took it. Their fingertips touched, as if an electric current had passed through them, awakening dormant memories.
Lan Yi led her through the city to a sea of flowers. This was where the two first met, when they were students. Lan Yi would pick a wildflower for her here, tuck it into her hair, and say with a smile, "You are more beautiful than the flowers." Now, the sea of flowers remains, but it carries a touch of vicissitude and deep affection.
"This is the place I chose." Lan Yi's voice trembled slightly. "Two years ago, a car accident made me cold and distant, and I even forgot how to love. But today, I want to tell you that I have never forgotten you." He stopped and took out a ring from his pocket, his eyes firm yet tender. "Lu Yin, I missed you two years ago; now, I want to spend my whole life making up for it. Will you marry me?"
Tears welled up in Lu Yin's eyes. She reached out and gently accepted the ring: "I do." At that moment, time seemed to stand still. Every flower in the sea of flowers seemed to be blooming for them, as if celebrating this love that had endured hardships yet remained steadfast.
A system notification softly sounded in Lu Yin's mind: "Mission completed. Reality and system synchronized. May you be happy forever." She looked up at Lan Yi, a happy smile on her lips: "Lan Yi, we are finally together again."
Lan Yi gently embraced her, his voice low and full of love: "Yes, this time, we will never be apart again." The two embraced in the sea of flowers, as if the whole world had stopped for them, leaving only the sound of their heartbeats and the fragrance of flowers wafting through the air.
"This might be a dream. It shouldn't be that fast, but I really did meet him. This system is really fast, it makes me feel overwhelmed. I should still be careful, it wouldn't be good if I were corrupted. But let the real him continue, I'm still looking forward to seeing what he does. Let's see what happens next." Lu Yin smiled.
"What's wrong?" he asked, puzzled. He felt he was being genuine, without any pretense, so his confusion stemmed from a sense of unease and a feeling that something was amiss. He thought there was nothing wrong, but her strange laughter sent chills down his spine; he felt something was very wrong. Lan Yi thought to himself, but didn't speak aloud.
