Chapter 5 Love Academy

The library has a total of 9 floors. Except for the first floor which is a newspaper and magazine lending room and a study area and does not meet the requirements, the other floors are filled with books of different categories.

Trying to find a book there without knowing exactly what kind of book it is is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

"Let's go to the second floor first. If there's nothing wrong inside, we can search separately. This way it will be faster. If a monster like the one just now appears again, we can act together."

As Keli spoke, he walked towards the staircase entrance on the left side of the library. When he pushed the door, he found that it was locked.

I turned the handle a few times and looked around nearby, but couldn't find the key and couldn't open the staircase entrance.

If you want to go upstairs in the library, there are only the safety stairs on the left and the innermost elevator facing the main entrance. Keli originally thought that it would be safer to take the stairs, but after his experience in the dormitory building, he always felt that something might go wrong if he took the elevator.

But now it seems there is only one option.

They opened the elevator door and the three of them walked in together.

The elevator door slowly closed, and the narrow space was surrounded by silver-white stainless steel plates on all sides, vaguely illuminating the figures of several people.

The elevator slowly rose, and a slight feeling of weightlessness came over them. The three of them stared at the number above the elevator button, which changed from 1 to 2.

The elevator stopped.

Keli's expression relaxed slightly, it seemed that there was no problem.

After a few seconds, the button for the 4th floor lit up and the elevator continued to go up.

It was as if there was someone else pressing the elevator button in the narrow and closed elevator.

"What's going on?"

Keli stepped forward and pressed the door-opening button, but the closed door showed no sign of opening and continued to rise.

When they reached the fourth floor, the elevator paused for a while. When they thought the door was about to open, the number 1 lit up again, and before anyone could react, it suddenly fell down.

“Aaaaaaaaah!”

The fear of weightlessness made Keli and Shirley scream. The inner walls of the elevator were smooth on all sides and there was no place to hold on. Shirley couldn't find a foothold during the shaking and almost hit her head against the elevator wall.

Zhou Zhou, who had been standing silently at the end at the critical moment, quickly supported her.

"Be careful." Zhou Zhou supported Shirley, and Keli on the side grabbed Zhou Zhou's arm in panic.

The two people hung on Zhou Zhou and screamed as if they had grabbed a life-saving straw.

The elevator lights flickered, illuminating two frightened faces and a face in the middle that was too calm and seemed out of place.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here."

At such a thrilling moment, Zhou Zhou was like a human clothes hanger, and he even had the mood to comfort the two screaming people hanging on him.

Just then, the elevator finally stopped.

The display screen above the button showed that they were now on the first floor.

"Zhou Zhou, thank you, thank you."

The two frightened people let go of Zhou Zhou tremblingly and quickly ran towards the elevator door. Unfortunately, the buttons from the first floor to the ninth floor did not work and the door did not open.

"I knew it. It's another trick."

"Are you going to trap us here and kill us?"

"Open the door!"

Zhou Zhou looked at the two people who were anxiously studying the elevator door and buttons, then looked at the metal door in front of them.

On the stainless steel door, the images of four people were vaguely reflected.

Zhou Zhou saw that there was another person behind him.

A person whose whole body is white.

The white shadow cast by the unclear metal door was distorted, and even swayed left and right as the two people slammed the door...

Shirley and Keli were still figuring out how to open the out-of-control elevator, so they didn't think much about it even though the shadow on the metal door seemed a little off.

The elevator began to rise again, and the hearts of the two were lifted high.

When it reached the second floor, the elevator began to fall again, and then rose again.

It was like bungee jumping, and both of their hearts were about to jump out.

"Zhou Zhou, come and take a look too. Is there any other way? Could this broken elevator have fallen into disrepair after so many years?"

Shirley fiddled with it for a while. The feeling of weightlessness brought by the constantly rising and falling elevator, and the fear and suffocation brought by the confined space gradually magnified as time passed.

She subconsciously sought security from the other person in the elevator.

When she turned around, Zhou Zhou was standing not far away, looking at her. His expression was very calm. He looked back at her with a faint smile, and she felt less panicked.

Look at your brother again.

Keli stuck to the door in a strange posture and tried to pry at the crack. "Do you think we will suffocate to death? Or the elevator will suddenly break and fall to the ground. Then we will be turned into meat paste! Help!"

Shirley: ...Is it too late to change a brother now?

"bite!"

The elevator door suddenly opened at this moment, and Keli, who was leaning against the door, fell out.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry! Get out quickly and never take the elevator again." Keli was still feeling scared as he sat on the ground.

Shirley quickly pulled the slow-moving Zhou Zhou out of the elevator. Zhou Zhou looked back and saw that the elevator was empty.

The white man was gone.

The elevator finally stopped on the eighth floor - ancient literature.

Several people sat on the ground and it took them a long time to recover.

"What are we doing here?" Keli's legs were still shaking when he stood up.

"Looking for a book." Zhou Zhou replied at the right time.

"Yes, yes, I remember now. I need to find a book here." Keli was now in the mood to look around. Everywhere he looked were bookcases filled with densely packed paper books.

“Are you asking us to look for books here?” Looking at the endless bookcases, my head started to hurt.

It’s worthy of being an official game. It just reviewed a wave of history, and now it asks players to read and find books. Is this an effort to focus on education in the game?

"It shouldn't be. We only have three days. It's impossible for us to search one book at a time. It must have provided some clues that we haven't found." Shirley also stood up from the ground.

Zhou Zhou looked back at the elevator, his big eyes full of confusion. Wasn’t it just given a reminder?

"Eh? Could it be a book about love? After all, the previous clues were related to this."

"It shouldn't be that simple. Besides, what's a book about love? It has to have a name."

"Aren't you thinking about it?"

"Oh, let me add one more, the ancient kind, from thousands of years ago."

"That's even more impossible to know." Keli sighed like a poor student.

Seeing the brother and sister still racking their brains to figure out what book to look for, Zhou Zhou blinked and said, "I know."

"Zhou Zhou, do you know?"

"What what?"

The two of them immediately came over, and Zhou Zhou pointed at the elevator, "There was a reminder just now."

The two looked at the closed elevator with confusion on their faces.

After a while, Keli suddenly had an epiphany, "I know it too!"

Shirley immediately asked, "What?"

Keli smiled slightly, revealing a hint of pride, and said affirmatively: "We are in love in the elevator."

Shirley was very upset: "...Is this a book?"

Zhou Zhou was at a loss: "Ah?"

"Zhou Zhou, just tell us what the clue is." Shirley no longer wanted to talk to her brother. It affected his intelligence too much.

Zhou Zhou nodded, then walked towards the machines neatly arranged on the side of the library, which could search for electronic versions of all paper books in the library.

Zhou Zhou clicked on it and the screen lit up.

The two people behind him craned their necks to look at the screen, watching Zhou Zhou enter four letters in the search box, and then the names of several books appeared.

"In here." Zhou Zhou pointed to several book titles that appeared on the screen, indicating that the book he was looking for should be among them.

The two pondered for a long time, but still didn't understand what these letters meant.

"The numbers on the elevator buttons lit up by themselves just now." Zhou Zhou explained.

After waiting for a while, I found that he didn't say anything else. "So?"

"The numbers correspond to different letters."

Shirley recalled, "That's not right. There were more than four numbers lit up on the button just now." Although she didn't pay attention to which numbers were lit up, there were definitely more than four.

"The elevator stops at different times." Zhou Zhou finally added.

The floors that just lit up are 2, 4, 1, 2, 1, 9, and 8.

According to the combination of pause duration, four numbers are formed: 24, 12, 19, and 8. These four numbers correspond to xlsh in alphabetical order.

This time they understood. The different time the elevator stopped meant that some of the numbers were not single digits but double digits. So that's it.

What a ghost! Who has the time to observe these when trapped in the elevator? Is this really a game for beginners? It’s too difficult! It’s not enough to just scare people and make them run for their lives, but it also tests observation and IQ?

If Zhou Zhou hadn't been there, they would never have figured it out even if they stayed in the elevator their entire lives.

Keli looked relieved and patted Zhou Zhou on the shoulder, "Luckily I have you."

Shirley was also touched, "It's great to have you."

Zhou Zhou replied politely: "Hello to you too."

After some vague flattery, the three of them hurried to look for the book.

The entire floor of the library is very large. At first, when the three of them started looking together, they found that the efficiency was too low, so they had to look separately, but the distance between them was not far.

Find the general classification through the labels on the bookshelf, and then look at the titles of the books one by one. Although it is a little slower, it is much easier to find once you know the title of the book.

While muttering the title of the book and searching on the bookshelf, Shirley felt someone coming behind her. Thinking it was Zhou Zhou who was looking for a book next door, she was about to ask him if he had found it, but when she turned around, there was no one there.

Is it an illusion? But just now I clearly felt someone behind me, the feeling as if he was right behind me and very close was very strong.

Shirley turned back suspiciously, her eyes towards the bookshelf. The next moment, she looked back sharply, and there was no one behind her.

It was indeed an illusion.

Shirley then started looking for books again.

“Pah.”

The sound of a book falling was heard behind me.

Shirley turned around when she heard the sound and saw an open book lying on the ground.

What's going on? Isn't there anyone here?

How did the book fall?

"Koli? Zhou Zhou?"

Shirley then realized that the surroundings were unusually quiet. There were only three of them on this floor. Since they were not far away, she could still hear other people flipping through books or mumbling, but now, there was no sound at all.

"Are you there? Say something."

Shirley was standing in the middle of the bookcase at this time, with tall bookshelves on both sides. She didn't dare to move around and could only shout loudly to the other two.

"Whoosh~" A sound like wind blowing was heard from the other side.

Shirley was a little frightened. She turned her head immediately after hearing the sound and just caught a glimpse of something white, like a piece of clothing, flashing past the bookcase.

"who?"

No one responded.

"Who is it?"

After waiting for a long time, I still didn't hear any movement.

Shirley took a deep breath. Now she was alone and could only rely on herself.

I pulled out the thickest book from the bookshelf. It was heavier than a brick and very heavy.

Holding the book tightly in both hands, Shirley walked step by step towards the direction where she had just seen the suspicious object.

"Come out now, or I'll come over."

"I really came here."

It was a distance of two or three steps, but Shirley walked for a whole minute, trying to scare the other person out while shouting loudly to give herself courage. It would be even better if Keli and Zhou Zhou could hear it.

Slowly walking to the corner of the bookcase, Shirley didn't dare to look behind the corner. What if it was another monster?

No, don't be afraid!

Shirley's heart was so nervous that it almost jumped out of her chest. She raised the book high and smashed it against the corner of the bookcase.
