He suddenly stopped and his voice was low and cold.
Zhou Chen was stunned for a moment. Although he didn't understand why the CEO was suddenly interested in Chen Xiaoru, he immediately responded:
"Yes, Mr. Chu, I'll arrange it right away." He quickly left the room, not daring to delay for even a moment.
Chu Tianche walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, lit another cigarette, took a deep puff, and the taste of nicotine relaxed his tense nerves a little.
He narrowed his eyes, Chen Xiaoru's face flashing through his mind. Were they really just similar? Or...
"Chen Xiaoru..."
Chu Tianche murmured to himself. He always felt that there was some kind of attraction in this woman that he could not ignore.
About half an hour later, a rapid knock on the door broke the silence in the room.
Zhou Chen pushed the door open and walked in, clutching a research report so tightly in his hand that the paper was even slightly deformed from the force he was holding. He quickly walked up to Chu Tianche, bowed slightly, and handed the report to him with both hands, his tone carrying a hint of obvious urgency:
"Mr. Chu, I've found out. Chen Xiaoru did go out that night, but... the surveillance didn't capture where she went. But what is certain is that she didn't return home until six in the morning."
Chu Tianche took the report and quickly scanned it. His brow furrowed deeper and deeper, and his fingers tapped unconsciously on the table, making a "dong dong" sound. Every subtle movement revealed his inner anxiety and uneasiness.
The information in the report caught him off guard. Returning home at six in the morning? This was too close to the time the woman left.
"Keep investigating. Find out every minute and every second of her whereabouts that night! I want to see where she went!"
Chu Tianche slammed the report onto the table with a loud bang, causing Zhou Chen's shoulders to tremble. His eyes were bloodshot, and the sinister glint in them was as chilling as the abyss. He exuded a terrifying sense of oppression that threatened to erupt at any moment.
Zhou Chen did not dare to neglect and quickly responded:
"Yes, President!" He bent down and carefully picked up the report, not daring to breathe. Cold sweat dripped down his forehead, soaking his shirt.
He could sense that the CEO was on the verge of exploding, and any misstep would lead to disaster. He didn't dare ask further questions, nor did he dare to look any further. He took the report and left the room.
