Chapter 346 Don't Shout Here

There was a piece of candy tucked inside the folder.

Zhou Luo knocked on the door and went inside after receiving permission from Fu Jingchen.

“President Fu, you seem to be in a bad mood. You’ve only been downstairs for a few minutes, so you must not have eaten.” Zhou Luo was very perceptive. “I didn’t mean to pay attention to you, I just happened to see it.”

After saying that, she pulled a piece of candy out of the folder: "Here, it'll be sweet after you eat it. I'm going out now, you can rest." Zhou Luo smiled and left.

Fu Jingchen looked at the candy and thought, "Who would eat candy at this age? It's childish."

But his actions contradicted his thoughts. He unwrapped the candy, put it in his mouth, and smelled the milky aroma. A faint smile unconsciously appeared on the man's lips.

This tastes familiar.

After Zhou Luo came out, she chatted with her colleagues. She pretended to casually mention the news she had read online and then explained it to them.

As expected, her initiative in speaking out earned her the trust of her colleagues, who comforted her.

Zhou Luo found a sense of presence in Fu Jingchen's company.

She didn't know that Rong Bing was on her way.

After eating the candy, Fu Jingchen's mood actually improved a bit. He realized that it wasn't a good idea to hang up on Rong Bing directly.

The man took the initiative to reply.

He had originally intended to have a calm and peaceful conversation with Rong Bing, but to his surprise, the woman answered the phone and began questioning him again, asking why he had hung up. Was he feeling guilty? Or perhaps he had been with someone and it wasn't convenient...?

Fu Jingchen's temper flared up instantly. He realized he was just asking for trouble. Without saying a word, he pressed the hang-up button again.

Rong Bing stared at the location; it would be there in a few minutes. She sent Fu Jingchen a message: "I'll be downstairs soon."

Fu Jingchen was surprised that this woman had actually come over.

Fearing she would cause trouble, the man immediately went downstairs to wait.

The taxi pulled up at the door, and Rong Bing got out, immediately spotting Fu Jingchen.

Rong Bing regretted sending that message as soon as she did. She should have gone upstairs directly so she could have caught Fu Jingchen.

Fu Jingchen grabbed the woman's arm and pulled her aside: "What exactly do you want?"

"What do I want to do? Isn't that what I'm asking you? What do you want to do? Why did you hang up on me? Have you and Zhou Luo been in contact for a while? Well, you've got your hands on both of them." Rong Bing said sarcastically.

Fu Jingchen's eyes were practically spitting fire: "Rong Bing, do you think everyone is like you?"

"What do you mean?" Fu Jingchen's words completely broke Rong Bing's defenses. "Are you implying something about me again?"

"I didn't," Fu Jingchen denied. "Don't make a scene here and become a laughing stock."

He pulled Rong Bing to the parking lot.

Neither of them would give in, and their shouts grew louder and louder until a security guard came to remind them.

Fu Jingchen then backed down, saying, "If you don't want to break up, go back."

Rong Bing knew that continuing to make a scene was useless; if she pushed Fu Jingchen too far, he would do anything.

The woman went home in a huff.

The employees upstairs probably heard something.

They whispered about Rong Bing, explaining that she had a conflict with a colleague, which was why she hadn't come.

Zhou Luo knew his chance had come.

She added in a sarcastic tone, "Even a girlfriend should know how to respect people. No wonder President Fu asked her to go back. Coming to work not only doesn't help, but it also makes everyone unhappy. With such good colleagues, Rong Bing doesn't appreciate it. I can't understand it."

As expected, Zhou Luo's words drew praise from everyone, who said she was humble and likable.

When Fu Jingchen passed by Zhou Luo's office, his complexion was even worse than it had been at noon.

It's obvious that he had a fight with Rong Bing.

Zhou Luo had already given Fu Jingchen candy, so it wouldn't be appropriate to go again. She would wait until after get off work to make her move.

——

The number of people at Songshan Clinic gradually increased.

Rong Yan resumed her work, but upon returning to her post, she didn't rush to see patients. Instead, she took out all the employees' information, wanting to understand the situation of each employee.

She first looked at Tang Wan's employment registration: a local resident, both her parents were retired, and she was unmarried and childless.

Rong Yan called Tang Wan over.

Tang Wan had prepared herself mentally. She had seen Rong Yan a few days ago and thought that Rong Yan would call her to talk, but she didn't expect that Rong Yan would not call her.

"Sit down." Rong Yan closed the door.

Tang Wan lowered her head: "Dr. Song, I..."

"Sit down and talk," Rong Yan said again. "Tea or coffee?"

Tang Wan thought Rong Yan would give her a severe scolding, but she didn't expect Rong Yan to be so nice.

"I...I...I won't drink it," she said nervously.

Rong Yan poured herself a glass of water: "I just wanted to chat with you. I've been too busy the past few days, so don't be nervous."

The woman's voice was gentle, and Tang Wan's tense emotions gradually eased.

Rong Yan asked about Tang Wan and Liang Jia's affairs, without uttering a single word of blame, but instead reflecting on her own actions.

During the conversation, Rong Yan learned that the clinic's employees were quite satisfied with their salaries and cherished their jobs, including Liang Jia, whose attitude changed after she resigned.

It turns out that Lu Kai is a pervert, and Tang Wan gritted her teeth when talking about Liang Jia and Lu Kai, as if she was disappointed in them.

Tang Wan swore that although Liang Jia had kept in touch after leaving the clinic, Tang Wan had never mentioned the patient's situation. She only brought it up when Liang Jia asked about Rong Yan.

She didn't know that Liang Jia was keeping in touch with her entirely to extract information from her.

Rong Yan sympathizes with Liang Jia's plight, but that doesn't mean she will let her go.

After learning about the situation from Tang Wan, Rong Yan found out where Liang Jia lived and decided to go see her.

Liang Jia hasn't left the Lu Mansion for several days.

The maid brought up all three meals a day, but Liang Jia barely ate any.

The aunt was worried that if things continued like this, Liang Jia would have to go to the hospital again, so she couldn't help but try to persuade her.

Liang Jia washed her face, mustered her spirits, and went out the door.

The sky was exceptionally blue after the rain.

She raised her head, her eyes sharp. Her aunt was right; she couldn't give up. Lu Kai was still waiting for her.

The woman dressed neatly and decided to go to the lawyer's office.

Rong Yan found the residential area that Tang Wan had mentioned, but was stopped at the door by the security guard.

She came up with a plan on the spot, called a friend who worked as a real estate agent, and sneaked in with him.

It's a pity she didn't meet Liang Jia, but from her aunt who knew her, Rong Yan knew that Liang Jia had suffered a lot from Lu Kai's torment.

But the woman never thought of leaving. At first, the neighbor's nanny would try to break up the fight when she heard the commotion next door, but after a few times, seeing that they not only didn't appreciate it but also blamed the nannies for meddling, no one cared anymore.

When these two are mentioned, everyone scoffs and calls them crazy workers and crazy women, saying they are not to be trifled with.

Kind-hearted people even advised Rong Yan not to provoke them.

But the more others tried to persuade her, the more Rong Yan wanted to know what Lu Kai had gone through and whether there was someone else behind him.

Liang Jia realized she had forgotten her phone after leaving the residential area. She went back to get it but unexpectedly ran into Rong Yan.

Just as Rong Yan was about to leave, she saw the person rushing back. His figure was similar to the one in the photo she had seen.

"Liang Jia?"

"Rong Yan?"

The two shouted at the same time.
