Chapter 378 Nothing to Miss

Rong Bing received a message from her sister letting her know she was safe.

Although Rong Yan suspected her when Rong Shiyu disappeared, in order to win Rong Yan over, she decided not to hold it against her and went to Yushui Bay to check on her niece.

Rong Bing bought fried chicken, which the children love.

After taking a shower, Rong Shiyu felt refreshed. She changed into clean clothes and happily prepared to go downstairs.

Having experienced the joy of losing and regaining their lost items, everyone waited in the living room for Rong Shiyu to come down, each with a lot to say to her.

Fu Yunlei rummaged around in his room for a long time, finally taking out his favorite toy from under the bed. His younger sister had asked him for it before, but he hadn't given it to her. He had thought a lot about the time his sister had been missing.

My little sister is more important than any toy, and I will never fight with her for things again.

He stood at the bottom of the stairs, holding a Plants vs. Zombies toy, waiting for his sister to come down.

Fu Yunting and Rong Shimo were also busy. Thinking about how they almost lost Xiaoyu, the two were filled with remorse and vowed that they would never leave Xiaoyu behind when they went out to play together in the future.

Rong Shiyu came downstairs wearing sportswear.

Everyone walked to the stairs in unison: "Xiaoyu."

The little girl looked down at everyone and said, "Uncle, Auntie, I'm fine now. You can go about your business. I was scared because so many people were surrounding me."

"Yes, everyone go ahead and get busy." Han Yue told the driver and the women to leave.

"Xingzhi, Mingyuan, you two go to the restaurant and have dinner together later. Jingsheng and I need to ask Xiaoyu something." Rongyan sent her good friends away as well. "Mom, you take them."

Rong Yan held her daughter's hand and didn't ask about the kidnapping directly. Instead, she told her a few stories, and Rong Shiyu and her mother chatted happily.

She inadvertently revealed that her aunt had taken her away and her uncle had saved her.

She said bad people should be punished, but promises should also be kept.

As expected.

"Go play, I'll call you for dinner later." Rong Yan patted her daughter's head.

“It really is her, but who is the uncle Xiaoyu mentioned?” Fu Jingsheng asked. “First, we can rule out Lu Kai. I called him after Xiaoyu disappeared this afternoon and confirmed that Lu Kai was being held captive.”

“It couldn’t have been just a passerby. That person knows Liang Jia.” Rong Yan rested her chin on her hand. “How would he know that Liang Jia took Xiao Yu away? Could it be that the two of them conspired together, and the man changed his mind in the end?”

"Rong Yan, stop guessing. After dinner, let's go see Liang Jia. Even the most clever lie will have flaws." Fu Jingsheng decided to talk to Liang Jia face to face.

Liang Jia wasn't afraid at all that Fu Jingsheng and the others knew she had kidnapped Rong Shiyu; everyone knew about her hatred for the Fu family.

There was nothing left in this world for her to cherish. Before taking this step, Liang Jia had made the worst-case scenario plan: it would be better to be caught and locked up, which would bring her closer to Lu Kai.

Liang Jia even anticipated that even if the lawyer said Rong Shiyu had promised not to reveal who had kidnapped her, Rong Yan and the others had plenty of ways to get information out of her.

As long as Rong Shiyu goes back, regardless of whether she is injured or not, she will be exposed, or Fu Jingsheng and the others may already be on their way.

She didn't avoid them; she waited for them to come over.

The lawyer was worried that Liang Jia might do something rash, so he called her again that night. Liang Jia answered calmly and said she was fine, which put the lawyer at ease.

That evening at the Lu Mansion, Liang Jia dismissed all the servants and waited alone for Fu Jingsheng to arrive.

The woman sat in the lobby on the first floor, looking out the door.

The dinner prepared by the maid before leaving gradually cooled on the table, but Liang Jia had no appetite.

She even wanted to provoke Fu Jingsheng and his men so that they would kill her, so that she could die with them.

She would die without regrets as long as she could avenge Lu Kai.

Fu Jingsheng parked his car outside the residential area and walked in with Rong Yan.

On the way, they thought that Liang Jia might already know that she had been exposed and would go into hiding. If they couldn't meet Liang Jia in person, they could try to get some information from the servants.

Unexpectedly, the villa's door was wide open, and Liang Jia was sitting in the middle of the living room.

That expression clearly said: I knew you were coming, so I was waiting at home.

Although the door was open, Rong Yan still politely knocked and asked if she could come in.

Liang Jia slowly stood up and walked out the door: "Come in."

This was Rong Yan's second visit. Unlike the last time, she didn't see anyone else at the Lu Mansion today except for Liang Jia.

Besides the oppressive dark-colored decor, the fact that there's only one person in such a large house is even more unsettling.

Rong Yan even wondered if it was a ruse, and that Liang Jia had bought bombs to take them all down with her.

Therefore, after Liang Jia came in, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Jing Sheng, wait a minute, don't you feel something's wrong?"

Fu Jingsheng held his wife's hand. He had never been to the Lu Mansion before. The dark tiles on the exterior walls alone gave him a suffocating feeling. Coupled with the dim lighting inside the house, something was definitely wrong.

He became more alert: "This place feels so creepy."

Liang Jia noticed that Rong Yan was hesitant to come in, and she sneered, "Are you scared? Afraid that I'll harm you? Don't worry, this house belongs to Lu Kai, and I treasure his things very much. I won't do anything here."

Rong Yan was indeed scared, but she wouldn't admit it: "Who's scared?"

The woman steeled herself and stepped into the yard, glancing around furtively, afraid that something might suddenly jump out from a corner and hit her on the head.

She walked all the way to the villa gate without incident, and gradually the woman's tense nerves relaxed.

Rong Yan stood against the wall: "Liang Jia, were you waiting for me?"

"Hmm, you're all smart people, asking me about Rong Shiyu?" Liang Jia knew Rong Yan's intentions and didn't need to beat around the bush.

"Why did you take her away? What do you want to do? Is it for Lu Kai? Do you know you've broken the law?" Rong Yan asked several questions in a row.

Liang Jia picked at her ear and frowned: "Stop lecturing me. Rong Yan, I have no grudge against you. Blame it on you for marrying Fu Jingsheng."

Liang Jia stopped pretending and revealed her true colors: "That's right. Going back to the clinic for treatment and pretending to cooperate were all part of my plan, in order to find out their whereabouts. Even if the master gives up, as long as I have a breath left, I will not give up."

“Liang Jia, I can get Lu Kai sentenced to a few more years. If I hadn’t known that he was very remorseful, I could have made him stay in jail for a few more years. I could have sent you in too. Rong Yan pleaded for you, saying that you were a pitiful person…” Fu Jingsheng did not expect Liang Jia to have no remorse at all.

"Enough!" Liang Jia shouted. "We are the ones suffering. What? Should we thank you for sparing our lives? Isn't the Fu family the root of all this? Now, your family is living happily together, but my husband is separated from his family and has lost his freedom. It's all thanks to you. Either you kill me, or I will do it again if I have the chance." Liang Jia was completely unmoved.

Rong Yan laughed at herself. Just as Fu Jingsheng said, letting Liang Jia go would not only not be appreciated, but Liang Jia would only think they were hypocritical.

She clenched her fist: "I shouldn't have pitied you."
