"Mom," Rong Yan said with a smile, turning around. "Come here."
Han Yue sat down next to her daughter-in-law.
"Mom, when is Uncle Deng opening? Jing Sheng and I have already discussed it and decided to order a few flower baskets to support him. Should we invite some more people to liven things up?" Rong Yan and her husband's business had stabilized, so she thought of helping her mother-in-law and the others.
"Oh, let's keep it low-key. Just send two bouquets of flowers. Why bother with flower baskets? And several? No need. Old Deng is getting old and can't take on many students. We haven't even opened yet, and there are already about ten people registered. We were just discussing hiring two coaches. He'll be exhausted if he has to do it all by himself." Han Yue was actually more worried that she herself wouldn't be able to handle it.
She's already overwhelmed with teaching just a few students today; imagine how chaotic it would be if she had to teach dozens!
"The renovation was just finished, and people are already signing up?" Rong Yan asked incredulously.
"Yes, there are a lot of people in that area. Other shops are in class in the morning, and people are coming and going. They probably noticed a new shop and became curious, so they came in to take a look. Old Deng introduced it to them, and who knew that a few of them would sign up on the spot." Han Yue really admired Old Deng's eloquence.
"I didn't expect Old Deng to be so serious and articulate. The parents signed up as soon as they heard him, saying they could tell he was born to be a coach just by looking at him." Han Yue almost covered her mouth and chuckled.
"Mom, look how happy you are," Rong Yan teased her mother-in-law. "Even happier than when you've achieved success in your career, aren't you?"
"Oh, don't make fun of me. Didn't I contribute to that? Old Deng's approval is a sign of my approval. I set up the most authoritative exhibition area." Han Yue patted her chest. "It just shows that your mom is quite talented too."
"Yes, a talent!" Rong Yan nodded affirmatively.
"It's just that, Rong Yan, I won't have as much time to spend with Xiao Lei and the others anymore." Han Yue's face suddenly darkened.
“Xiao Lei and the others are going back to school soon, and they won’t have time to be at home after school starts. They can go to the training institution with you during the holidays, so it won’t interfere with their studies,” Rong Yan comforted her mother-in-law, putting her arm around her shoulder.
"That's true. If I earn more money, I can help supplement my family's income."
“Whether I make money or not is a small matter; the important thing is to have something to do,” Rong Yan added. “Mom, I’ve noticed that you’re only truly happy when you’re away from home.”
"Hehe, I'm really not suited to lying at home. Not only am I bored, but I also feel anxious all the time. These past few days, working on the training institution, I feel like I've found my direction in life again. You're right, whether I make money or not is a small matter. Besides, I'm not working, I'm just helping out, and I don't get paid."
Unable to get a word in edgewise, Fu Jingsheng said, "You two chat, I'll go cut some fruit."
"Okay." Rong Yan's eyes narrowed into slits.
After Fu Jingsheng went to the kitchen, Rong Yan quietly asked her mother-in-law.
"Stop talking about your career, when are you and Uncle Deng getting married? Aren't you planning to settle down?"
As soon as her daughter-in-law spoke, Han Yue blushed immediately: "What marriage? We haven't even reached the point of marriage yet. Old Deng has been busy with the organization lately, let alone getting married, we've even had less time to go for a walk together."
"And what about you? Are you still planning to get married?" Rong Yan wanted to know her mother-in-law's thoughts. If her mother-in-law wanted to get married, she would help her mother-in-law organize a proper wedding, just like when she returned to the Fu family, her mother-in-law arranged for her and Fu Jingsheng to get married and helped them organize their wedding.
"Of course I'll prepare, otherwise it'll be unclear what's going on, and I won't be happy about that," Han Yue said.
"I understand, Mom. Once the organization is stable, I'll ask Uncle Deng," Rong Yan said thoughtfully.
"I'll ask myself, Rongyan. Don't ask. It makes me seem like I'm in a rush." Han Yue didn't want the children to pressure Lao Deng.
"Okay," Rong Yan replied.
After returning home from the institution, Lao Deng sent Han Yue a message: "Have you arrived home yet?"
Upon hearing the message notification tone, Han Yue replied, "Arrived."
"Can we make a video call?" Old Deng asked again.
Han Yue glanced at her daughter-in-law: "Rong Yan, Lao Deng needs to see me. I'll make a call. Get some rest. Goodnight."
Han Yue hurriedly returned to her bedroom and turned on the video.
Old Deng was a little shy.
"Xiao Han, I just got home too." He hesitated before continuing.
Han Yue sensed that he had something to say and asked, "What happened?"
"Nothing happened, Xiaoyue, what do you think of me?" Old Deng suddenly changed Xiao Han to Xiaoyue.
Han Yue blushed again after hearing this. "Xiao Yue?" It was indeed quite embarrassing to be called that at her age.
Seeing Han Yue stunned, Old Deng asked again, "Xiao Yue, are you still satisfied with me?"
Although she didn't ask in person, they could see each other's expressions through the video. When Han Yue heard Lao Deng's question, she didn't know what to say for a moment. She looked away and didn't dare to look at Lao Deng.
"How can you ask like that? Can't you tell if I'm satisfied or not?" Han Yue's voice was very soft.
Old Deng couldn't hear very clearly.
"Huh?" he asked.
"Are you not satisfied? Then tell me what's wrong with it, and I'll change it." Old Deng was a little flustered.
"I didn't say it was bad." Han Yue glanced at Lao Deng discreetly.
"So you're satisfied?" Old Deng insisted on getting a definite answer.
"Satisfied, that's good." Han Yue slowly raised her head. "And how about you towards me?"
She hesitated for a moment before asking.
"I'm quite satisfied with you, Xiaoyue. You're young, beautiful, smart, and cheerful—you'd be hard-pressed to find someone like you," Old Deng praised.
"It's not as good as you say. I'm actually quite lazy. I don't like doing housework, I don't like taking care of children, I'm impatient, and I like freedom." Han Yue listed many of her shortcomings.
“What kind of flaw is that?” Old Deng laughed. “In my opinion, it’s all a virtue. It shows that there’s a little girl living inside you, right?”
In order to keep up with Han Yue's pace, Lao Deng has recently been watching videos that young people like to watch more often, instead of having time to go for a walk in the park.
"Stop praising me, it's embarrassing." Han Yue covered her cheek with one hand. "You turned on the video just to ask me if I'm satisfied with you?"
Old Deng suddenly became serious. He cleared his throat and said, "No, I...I..." Old Deng stammered.
"Did the parents get a refund?" Han Yue guessed.
"No, why do you always think the bad things? Think about the good things." Old Deng's speech became fluent again.
Han Yue seemed to realize something. She covered her mouth, a look of surprise on her face: "No...no...it's what I'm thinking, isn't it?"
"What?" Old Deng asked.
"You asked me if I'm satisfied with you, and you want to propose to me?" Han Yue, who speaks frankly, said what she was thinking without any attempt to hide it.
"Yes, I'm proposing to you. Of course, I'll propose formally. Today, I just wanted to ask you what I need to change. Once I've changed, I'll propose to you in person." Old Deng liked Han Yue's straightforward personality.
If you speak your mind directly, there will be no misunderstandings between you.
"Let me think about it." Han Yue was secretly delighted, but in order to appear more reserved, she suppressed her excitement.
"Yes, I need to think about it. It's such an important matter. I'll wait for your reply. Get some rest. See you tomorrow. Goodnight, Xiaoyue."
