Chapter 495 It's time for us to reap the rewards.

Han Yue was somewhat dazed after hanging up the phone.

It took me a long time to react.

Has Lao Deng really thought it through and decided to spend the rest of his life with me?

When Rongyan came out to get the milk, she saw her absent-minded mother-in-law and thought something had happened.

She went over and asked, "Mom? What's wrong?"

Rong Yan asked several times before Han Yue finally came to her senses: "Rong Yan, why aren't you asleep?"

She gave an irrelevant answer.

"Mom, something happened to Uncle Deng?" Rong Yan couldn't help but suspect something was wrong after her mother-in-law acted this way after receiving the call.

"Rong Yan, hit me." Han Yue said without moving her eyes.

"ah?"

“Hit me,” she repeated.

Rong Yan gently patted her mother-in-law's shoulder.

"If you can't feel the pain, use more force." After saying that, Han Yue grabbed Rong Yan's hand and hit herself.

"Ouch, that hurts. I wasn't dreaming." Only when the pain became clear did Han Yue realize that everything was real.

Rong Yan was even more confused. What was wrong with her mother-in-law?

She looked anxious and took her mother-in-law's hand to sit on the sofa, pressing her for details about what had happened.

Han Yue told Rong Yan about the contents of the phone call.

"Mom, this is good news! Why do you look like that? You scared me to death!" Rong Yan breathed a sigh of relief.

"Rongyan, can you talk to me for a while?" Although Han Yue knew that Rongyan supported her remarriage, she still wanted to tell Rongyan her concerns. "We should also start having children. When people get old, they want to have a companion. But if I marry Lao Deng, I will probably live separately from him. It is obviously not suitable for him to come to our house."

Rong Yan smiled faintly: "Mom, of course I'll live alone. Are you afraid I won't let you move out?"

"I'm afraid no one will take care of Xiao Lei and the others." Han Yue was reluctant to part with her grandsons.

“It’s not like we’re missing the child. How about this, Jing Sheng and I will each contribute some money and buy a small apartment in our neighborhood, a one-bedroom one. That would be convenient. We can just pay the down payment; it won’t cost much.” Rong Yan felt that what her mother-in-law was worried about was not a big deal at all.

"I can buy it myself, Rongyan. Don't interfere with the house matter." Han Yue didn't want the children to worry about her anymore.

"Okay, you bring the house, I'll prepare the wedding supplies."

"Don't be in such a hurry, I haven't agreed to Lao Deng's request yet." Han Yue noticed that Rong Yan was even more excited than herself.

"Once it's settled, tell me the date, and I'll take care of the wedding and everything else."

Han Yue didn't stand on ceremony with Rong Yan, because she knew very well that Rong Yan would get angry if she didn't ask Rong Yan to do something.

"Okay." Han Yue nodded.

Back in the bedroom, Rong Yan sat in front of the dressing table removing her makeup and couldn't help but laugh.

"Honey, what's making you so happy?" Fu Jingsheng was sitting on the sofa playing on his phone when he looked up and saw his wife smiling.

Rong Yan turned around and told Fu Jingsheng about her mother-in-law, embellishing the story.

"Marriage?" Fu Jingsheng was so excited that he dropped his phone.

"We can't let Mom be in a relationship with Lao Deng without knowing the details. I think it's fine. Mom even asked me to be her bridesmaid."

"What? A daughter-in-law can be a bridesmaid? No, can a married person be a bridesmaid? I don't agree to this!" Fu Jingsheng's voice suddenly rose. "Isn't this creating chaos?"

"Don't worry, I said I'd find her two young girls. I'll definitely have a lot to do that day, I won't have time to follow her around. But Fu Jingsheng, why do you seem a little reluctant for Mom to marry Uncle Deng?"

“How could I be unwilling? I just think remarriage should be considered carefully. My mother is a bit naive and innocent. I’m really worried about her living with someone else. But our family doesn’t have the means to let Uncle Deng move in right now.” Fu Jingsheng may not seem very filial on the surface, but he always has his mother’s side in his heart.

Rong Yan walked to her husband's side and leaned on one of his shoulders: "I've thought of everything you've thought of. If Mom really decides to marry Uncle Deng, she'll buy a small apartment in our neighborhood so she can still come over every day."

"That's more like it." Fu Jingsheng's biggest concern had been dispelled, and he had nothing to worry about anymore, so he said, "Then listen to Mom. Half a lifetime has passed, as long as she's happy."

Rong Yan pressed her head against Fu Jingsheng's cheek: "Yes, half a lifetime has passed, so do whatever makes you happy. No matter what decision she makes, we will fully support her and be her strongest backing. Mom was willing to let us come back home and choose a different life, so what reason do we have not to support her?"

“A third of our lives have already passed, my wife. I still remember what you looked like when you were a teenager. It turns out that turning into your thirties is just a blink of an eye,” Fu Jingsheng said with emotion.

"We missed seven years in the middle. How many seven-year periods do we have in our lives? So while we still have time, we must do everything we want to do. Who doesn't know if we will part ways tomorrow?" Rong Yan felt both fortunate and regretful.

Fu Jingsheng put his arm around his wife's shoulder tightly: "It's my fault."

“What has already happened can’t be undone. To make up for the lost time, we should all try to live longer.” Rong Yan raised her chin slightly, a smile on her face.

——

Fu Jingchen's company.

After returning to Tiancheng, the man and Zhou Luo went straight to the company with their luggage.

Although he kept it a secret from the employees when he left, within a day everyone knew that Fu Jingchen had taken leave to go to Zhou Luo's hometown. It seemed that the boss and Zhou Luo's marriage was a done deal, which meant that Zhou Luo would be the future boss's wife. Therefore, everyone was especially polite to Zhou Luo.

Liu Yi has accepted the fact that she and Fu Jingchen are destined to be colleagues. It's good to stay by Fu Jingchen's side in a different capacity. At least whenever something happens at the company, her role is more important than Zhou Luo's.

Upon seeing Zhou Luo, Liu Yi, like her other colleagues, took the initiative to stand up and greet him.

Zhou Luo smiled at everyone.

Fu Jingchen, with his hands in his pockets, stopped as he passed Liu Yi and said, "Sister Liu, come to my office."

Liu Yi assumed that, as before, Fu Jingchen would ask about the company's situation when he returned from his business trip, so Zhou Luo took the reports over.

She stood beside Fu Jingchen's desk: "Mr. Fu, everything has been normal these past few days..."

"Sister Liu, let's not talk about work yet. I know the company is operating normally, otherwise you would have called me already. Sister Liu, take the car keys and go to the trunk to get the gray box. There are gifts I brought for everyone inside. Take them and distribute them." Fu Jingchen brought back some pastries from Zhou Luo's hometown.

"Oh, right, you have something else." With that, he took a box out of his pocket and handed it to Liu Yi. "Here you go."

Liu Yi was stunned: "What?"

“You’ve been with me the longest. When I’m not around, you’ve taken care of most of the company’s affairs, big and small. This is a safety amulet, it’s been blessed. The temple near Zhou Luo’s home is very efficacious.” Fu Jingchen said sincerely.

"Thank you, Mr. Fu." Liu Yi was both surprised and delighted. She wanted to ask whether it was Fu Jingchen or Zhou Luo who asked for it, but she was too embarrassed to ask.

"I asked for it." Unexpectedly, Fu Jingchen said it himself.
