Chapter 516 Extra (16) How wonderful it would be if it were a done deal!

Zhou Luo felt dizzy.

She couldn't believe she'd won the lottery in such a short time.

After sitting on the ground for a while, the woman felt uncomfortable all over and stood up, leaning against the wall.

She didn't know what to do, so she called Zhao Rong, hoping her best friend could help her think of a solution.

Zhao Rong had plans for the morning; she was supposed to go to Ye Jianming's coffee shop. However, her best friend invited her out, so she had to skip the coffee shop.

For some time now, Zhao Rong had been coming over every morning. After Ye Jianming opened the door, his eyes went straight to the spot where Zhao Rong usually sat.

Habits are a terrible thing. When did his motivation for coming to the coffee shop become Zhao Rong?

The psychological counseling session started today.

Ye Jianming is temporarily taking over Rong Bing's work. Although he is quite busy, Zhao Rong's image keeps popping into his mind.

I was just thinking of asking Zhao Rong if she was coming over today, and if I didn't see her at the store, I would go to the classroom to call her, but Zhao Rong sent a message first saying that she wouldn't be coming in the morning because she had something to do.

Ye Jianming felt a pang of disappointment, but still replied with a friendly smile.

Zhou Luo made an appointment online and met up with Zhao Rong at the hospital.

She didn't believe the result of the pregnancy test.

Zhou Luo didn't say what it was about on the phone, but Zhao Rong already guessed what was going on since the woman had chosen the hospital as the meeting place.

Zhao Rong arrived half an hour later, while Zhou Luo was waiting in line at the obstetrics and gynecology department.

Upon seeing Zhao Rong, Zhou Luo pitifully grabbed her hand: "Sister, I might be finished."

Zhao Rong glanced at the sign on the clinic: Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. Just as she had guessed.

"How many people are ahead of us?" Zhao Rong asked calmly, as if everything was within her expectations.

“Twenty-odd,” Zhou Luo said, holding the queue list.

"There are too many people here, let's go outside to talk."

A corner of the hospital's first-floor lobby.

"Speak up," Zhao Rong said, waiting for Zhou Luo to speak first.

"I've got it." Zhou Luo bit her lip.

"Knowing you're pregnant, what are you thinking? You'll have to give birth, won't you?" Zhao Rong was worried about the baby's arrival and departure.

Zhou Luo had a previous miscarriage. If she had another one, it would not only harm her body, but could also prevent her from ever having children again.

"How dare I not have the baby?" Zhou Luo knew her body well. The doctor said that it would be difficult to get pregnant after her last miscarriage. She didn't expect that she would get pregnant again after just one instance of not using protection. Is this what you call difficult to get pregnant?

Even so, she dared not gamble again.

“You’ve decided to have the baby, so what’s there to be unhappy about? The marriage is already arranged, and the pregnancy just happens to make it even more certain that you two will get married. Isn’t that great?” Zhao Rong didn’t know what Zhou Luo was hesitating about.

Zhou Luo hesitated, "I'm afraid that if we have this child, the dowry and such will be reduced."

Zhao Rong laughed immediately after hearing this: "Sister, are you afraid that because you're pregnant, Fu Jingchen will think he can have you all to himself, so he'll lower his standards for marrying you?"

"Yeah, there are tons of news like this online. And I myself said I wouldn't live together before marriage, acting like a virtuous woman. Now that I have a child, I've really lost all my value." Zhou Luo couldn't get over her own mental hurdle.

"Aren't you overthinking it? Maybe Fu Jingchen will cherish you even more because you're pregnant?" Zhao Rong was much more optimistic. "Besides, the Fu family is quite open-minded. They wouldn't make a fuss about the small amount of money given as a wedding gift just because you're pregnant."

After being comforted by Zhao Rong, Zhou Luo felt much better.

She didn't ask for much money as a wedding gift; Fu Jingchen usually gave her more than that. And it didn't count as being pregnant out of wedlock. Han Yue had told her to have the baby while she was young, which showed that the Fu family really liked children.

Fu Jingchen also envied his brother for having so many children.

Zhou Luo relaxed and went for a checkup, which confirmed that she was more than a month pregnant.

She held the ultrasound report in her hand: "Should I tell Fu Jingchen now?"

"No need for now, let's wait until he gets home tonight," Zhao Rong suggested.

Fu Jingchen's company.

The man had been busy all morning, and at lunchtime he thought of Zhou Luo, wondering how she was doing.

Fu Jingchen made a phone call to the woman.

Zhou Luo and Zhao Rong were having dinner at a Hunan restaurant.

I heard we won't be able to eat spicy food anymore, so I'll have some before the baby is fully formed.

"Luo Luo, do you still feel like throwing up?" Fu Jingchen asked.

"I don't want to think about it anymore."

The man breathed a sigh of relief and then asked Zhou Luo where she was and if she wanted to come to the company.

Zhou Luo said he was having dinner with Zhao Rong. Upon learning that his fiancée, who had just vomited the night before, was eating Hunan cuisine, Fu Jingchen said sternly, "You can't eat spicy food. Drink some porridge. Your stomach is upset. Why are you eating such strong-flavored food?"

"It's nothing, I just drank something cold. I feel much better today. I've almost finished eating and I'm perfectly fine. Jingchen, Zhao Rong is right here, so don't raise your voice at me. If I'm free this afternoon, I'll come to the company to find you. I'll hang up now."

Fu Jingchen sent Zhou Luo a message: "Listen to me, stop eating."

"Okay," the woman replied dismissively.

Zhao Rong raised her eyebrows as she listened to their conversation: "Why are you so worried about me, Zhou Luo? I suspect you're deliberately showing off your relationship. Now that you're engaged, pregnant, and will definitely be getting your marriage certificate soon, I'm so envious."

"Envious of me?" Zhou Luo smiled wryly. "I envy you more, for your freedom and carefree attitude."

The two complimented each other's lives for a while, and finally Zhao Rong covered Zhou Luo's mouth with her hand: "Okay, stop it. I have to go to the coffee shop after dinner. I can't hold you back."

Zhou Luo inquired about the progress of Zhao Rong and Ye Jianming's relationship.

Zhao Rong was unusually shy. She lowered her head and stammered, "There's been no progress."

"Don't lie to me."

"I'm not kidding you, we're still at the coffee-drinking stage. We went fishing together, and that was the end of it. Does drinking coffee count as a date?" Zhao Rong wanted to ask Ye Jianming out several times, but seeing the man's aloof attitude, she swallowed her words.

Even though she used to be a proactive person, believing in gender equality and that it didn't matter who pursued whom, when she met Ye Jianming, she secretly hoped that he would pursue her.

"Someone's been proven wrong. Didn't you always make a move on people you liked before? Why are you waiting silently this time? Let me tell you, Ye Jianming isn't the outgoing type. Are you waiting for him to ask you out? You're unlikely to." Zhou Luo had learned about Ye Jianming from Fu Jingchen.

“It’s not like I’m waiting for him to take the initiative. At least he should respond, right? Every time I finish my coffee and say I’m leaving, he says ‘see you tomorrow,’ but he never says we should meet somewhere else. I invited him to go fishing, so I can’t keep inviting him, can I?” Zhao Rong rested her chin on her hands.

“Why not? Next time he says ‘see you tomorrow,’ just jokingly ask where you’re meeting tomorrow.” Zhou Luo realized that those involved are often blinded by their own feelings. Even though Zhao Rong is a seasoned lover, she can become awkward when she meets someone she truly likes.

Zhou Luo's words enlightened Zhao Rong, and she decided to do just that that afternoon.

After they finished eating, the two went their separate ways to different places.

Ye Jianming put up a sign at the entrance of the coffee shop that said "Zhao Boss, turn left," and then plunged into the classroom.

Before starting work, he considered whether or not to hire someone.
