Chapter 52 Dark Circles Under the Eyes

Before the video call ended, Fu Jingsheng had already arrived at Rong Yan's door. He turned the volume down to the lowest setting, tiptoed upstairs, and opened the door.

I saw Rongyan's man hang up the video.

In front of the dressing table, a woman applies a face mask and closes her eyes to rest.

The light in front of Rong Yan suddenly dimmed. She opened her eyes and saw Fu Jingsheng reflected in the mirror behind her.

He was leaning over and staring at me, his tall figure casting some of the light on me.

A shadow falls on the dressing table.

Fu Jingsheng's expression showed no sign of anxiety.

"Is the situation not good?" Rong Yan asked, removing her face mask.

The woman's face, adorned with serum, was fair and clear, with a few strands of hair falling across her cheeks, adding to her charm.

I can't let Rong Yan see that I have ulterior motives for coming here.

Fu Jingsheng suppressed his impulse and got down to business first.

Zhao Wenbo told his mother that Rong Yan resembled his deceased friend, but his mother explained that she was his daughter-in-law. Zhao Wenbo realized that the age did not match and thought he had mistaken her for someone else.

He also promised that he would never come back without his mother's permission, and that he had already left Tiancheng.

Fu Jingsheng gave a brief summary.

Rong Yan's tense nerves relaxed a little: "Does he listen to his aunt?"

The woman had a bold idea: Could there be a man who would give up everything, including hatred, for the woman he loves?

Could Han Yue persuade Zhao Wenbai to give up his revenge?

But then she realized that her thoughts were too selfish. Knowing that Zhao Wenbai was a dangerous person, how could she push Han Yue into a fire pit?

Fu Jingsheng, however, said, "Zhao Wenbai seems to listen to my mother. With my mother around, even if he knows who you are, he probably won't do anything."

"What do you mean?" Rong Yan asked, feigning ignorance.

"Yes, when my dad was alive, he listened to my mom a lot. My mom is a very charming woman." Fu Jingsheng nodded; that was exactly what he meant.

“But Zhao Wenbo is different from Uncle. Zhao Wenbo has a criminal record, and the Zhao family is not an innocent family either. Aunt is so naive, how could she be a match for him?” Rong Yan still felt it was inappropriate.

Fu Jingsheng pinched the side of his nose: "Never mind them. As long as Zhao Wenbai doesn't come again, that's fine. Tiancheng isn't Japan, so we need to be careful."

"Are the children asleep?" The man rested his chin on Rong Yan's shoulder, his voice rising at the end.

Rong Yan moved to the side: "My flight is at eight o'clock tomorrow, and the meeting is at ten-thirty, which means I have to rush to the meeting as soon as I get off the plane."

Fu Jingsheng gently touched Rong Yan's cheek in his hands, then let go: "Okay, to prevent any accidental encounters while I'm staying here, I'm going back. Goodnight."

"I'll take you to the airport tomorrow." The man walked to the door and turned around. "Get some rest."

"Good night." Rong Yan didn't expect Fu Jingsheng to be so considerate of her; with just one sentence, he tactfully left.

That night, Rong Yan found that when she turned off the main bedroom light and left only a small nightlight at the foot of the bed to sleep, she was no longer afraid.

Fu Jingsheng sent Rong Yan a goodnight message before going to sleep.

He slept soundly that night, holding his phone.

——

A week has finally passed.

Fu Jingsheng got up early, thinking that he could finally reunite with Rong Yan, but before he could even leave the house, his grandmother called him back.

He sent a message to Rong Yan saying he hadn't seen the woman on the plane.

After Rong Yan landed, she was picked up by the Fu family's driver.

The woman dragged her suitcase and looked around.

"Madam, the eldest young master hasn't come," the driver said.

"The old lady and Miss Huo had a huge argument, so the eldest young master went back to Puyue Mansion early this morning," the driver explained, fearing that Rong Yan might misunderstand.

"Miss Huo?" Rong Yan had no idea who Miss Huo was.

"Don't you know? Miss Rong Bing's father and mother have moved to Pu Yue Mansion. The first two days were quite harmonious, but starting from the third day, the old lady and Miss Huo started to get along all sorts of things." The driver lives in Pu Yue Mansion.

The Fu family has never been so chaotic, with the two of them arguing every day.

"Huh?" Rong Yan was shocked. Rong Bing's conditions did not include her parents having to live with her at Puyue Mansion.

The driver took the suitcase from Rong Yan's hands: "Madam, I'll take you back to Yushui Bay. The eldest young master specifically instructed me to deliver you back safely. He'll come find you once he's done there."

"oh."

At Puyue Mansion, Fu Jingsheng held a cigarette between his fingers but didn't take a puff as he sat on the living room sofa.

The old lady poured out her grievances with tears streaming down her face, but Fu Jingsheng only understood half of what she said.

After arguing with the old lady, Huo Shufen went out before Fu Jingsheng arrived.

I had heard Rong Bing say before that the old lady of the Fu family was very fierce and took advantage of her age, especially towards Rong Yan. But she wasn't a member of the Fu family, so why was she being so hostile towards her every day?

Huo Shufen couldn't stand this. Every time the old lady said something, she would retort. Since the old lady had suffered a stroke and her speech was unclear, she couldn't win the argument and even took a broom and told her to get out early in the morning.

Huo Shufen was furious at this unlucky act and listed in detail how the old lady of the Fu family was disliked and how she was disliked by all the younger generation.

Seeing the old lady trembling with anger, Huo Shufen happily left to go shopping.

The old lady was deeply troubled and threatened to kill herself to get her eldest grandson to come over.

Seeing that the old lady was about to commit suicide again, the maid had no choice but to call Fu Jingsheng.

When Rong Yan was around, she was so obedient. The old lady was always picky. If it weren't for the fact that she was his own grandmother, Fu Jingsheng wouldn't have bothered with her.

After crying for two hours, the old lady said she couldn't stay in Yushui Bay anymore and wanted to go with her eldest grandson.

“No.” Fu Jingsheng refused without hesitation.

"If you don't agree, I'll kill myself." The old woman picked up the ashtray beside her and smashed it against her head.

Fu Jingsheng, standing to the side, was completely caught off guard.

On the way to the hospital with the old lady, he made a phone call to Rong Yan.

Upon hearing this, the driver complained, "Madam, this can't go on forever. Why don't we buy her a bed in the hospital and make sure she doesn't come back?"

Rong Yan's tense face was instantly amused by the driver.

"Pu, Uncle Liu, even you can't stand it anymore?"

The driver sighed, "Who in the Fu family can stand it? The eldest young master isn't idle; he's called back every day to deal with the old lady's affairs. He's so old, all he knows is to cause trouble for his children and grandchildren."

Rong Yan rested her chin on her hand, thinking of Xu Nan. Why is there such a big difference between people? Xu Nan, in order not to add burden to herself, has been hiding her illness even though she doesn't have much time left.

The old lady is in very good health, but she's always getting into trouble.

Those who want to live can't live, and those who want to die can't die.

"Madam, the young master has had a tough time. Lately, he's had gray hair at his temples and dark circles under his eyes," the driver added.

When Rong Yan was in the Fu family, he thought she was a very nice person, unlike Rong Bing, who was very scheming.

Now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, the servants all hope that Rongyan will remarry the young master as soon as possible.

Rong Yan looked up in surprise: "Your temples are white? And your eyes have dark circles."

She didn't even notice.

But were these things caused by being bothered by the old lady?

Rong Yan opened her phone and searched: Can kidney deficiency cause hair to turn white?

The answers she received online made her nervous.
