Rong Yan was imprisoned on the outskirts of the city. The village was surrounded by mountains, with the sea in front of the mountains. Due to the inconvenience of transportation, most of the villagers had moved out, leaving behind many houses that had been in disrepair for many years.
The houses are far apart from each other. Not to mention that the Xie family has no neighbors, even if they did, they might not be able to hear the sounds coming from the yard.
Rong Yan called out for a while, but there was no response. She guessed that the place was too remote and that calling out would only be a waste of energy.
She looked at the ground for anything sharp that she could hook with her foot and cut the rope, but there were only some wood chips on the ground.
Rong Yan didn't want to die. After escaping from Zhao Wenbai, all she wanted was to live a good life.
The worst part is that this trip out turned out to be unexpected, and she didn't even write her last words.
Did Ye Jianming figure out the code?
Rong Yan couldn't rely on them; she had to find a way. She stared at the roof. Even if she wasn't afraid of being crushed to death, how could she open such a thick pillar?
The woman endured the pain and kept rubbing her hands.
In the afternoon, Ye Jianming found out about the restaurant. Rong Yan had indeed been there, but she only stayed for a short while before leaving. She probably sensed the danger and deliberately lingered in front of the camera when she entered the restaurant.
But the camera did not capture the woman leaving.
As for who he met, no one knows.
There were no security cameras in the private room where she was.
There were many people coming and going in the restaurant, so no one knew whether Rong Yan had been taken away or had left on her own.
Ye Jianming called Fu Jingsheng again and told him that Rong Yan had gone to a restaurant, but left without eating. However, he could not find any surveillance footage of her leaving, and her phone had been switched off until now.
Fu Jingsheng's brow twitched. It was unlikely that anything would happen in broad daylight. Rong Yan would only have problems if she was drunk. Not eating meant she hadn't been drinking.
"She may have been kidnapped." Ye Jianming said with a serious expression.
"Kidnapping in a restaurant? Kidnapping in a crowded restaurant? You'd send yourself to a restaurant to be kidnapped?" Fu Jingsheng sneered. "Are you stupid or am I stupid?"
“Fu Jingsheng, I’ve already asked my friends to check her whereabouts. Rong Yan disappeared after arriving at the hotel. It’s been more than half a day. If she was really kidnapped, she has claustrophobia. She wouldn’t need the kidnappers to do anything; she could scare herself to death.” Ye Jianming tried to get Fu Jingsheng to search with him.
But Fu Jingsheng clearly didn't believe it.
“There will always be ransom calls when someone is kidnapped. I’ll wait,” Fu Jingsheng said. “Is this some kind of conspiracy between the two of you?”
The man cracked his knuckles, showing no sign of nervousness.
Ye Jianming hung up the phone cursing. After finding Rong Yan, he was determined to tell her that she was right to curse him, and that the scumbag wasn't in a hurry at all.
Qin Mengyu returned to the hotel to rest, then switched SIM cards and called Xie Ke to ask how the man had handled the situation.
Upon learning that Rong Yan was at the old house, the woman breathed a sigh of relief.
Whether she can escape depends on her abilities. Even if she does escape, at least she'll be taught a lesson and learn not to meddle in other people's business.
Rong Yan's hands were bleeding from the friction, but the rope didn't loosen at all. Judging from the light and shadow, it was already evening.
Having not eaten all day, the woman's legs felt weak. She sat leaning against a wooden pillar, praying that moonlight would shine in after dark.
Fu Jingsheng waited until evening, but neither the extortion call nor Rong Yan's live broadcast news came. Had he guessed wrong?
The man felt uneasy.
He asked He Wei to borrow several mobile phones to call Rong Yan, but the calls could not be connected.
"Mr. Fu, Madam has never had her phone off for this long before. Who would turn off their phone during the day these days?"
"No, if you can't get through, it means there's no signal. In this day and age, where is there no signal? Unless it's in a very remote place, why would Madam go to such a remote place?"
Fu Jingsheng pinched the side of his nose and said, "I'll call Ye Jianming."
Over there, Ye Jianming had five computers in front of him.
As night approached, sweat beaded on his forehead.
Ye Jianming had the speakerphone on, and the receiver was filled with the sound of rapid typing.
"Ye Jianming, swear that you're not acting."
Ye Jianming was already annoyed, and now he had to explain to Fu Jingsheng. He said impatiently, "Don't bother me while I'm looking for someone."
That tone didn't sound fake.
"Give me your location, I'll bring people over right away." Fu Jingsheng finally panicked.
Ye Jianming gave an address.
Fu Jingsheng booked the earliest flight to Harbin.
Before leaving, the man got a new SIM card and kept calling Rong Yan, but he couldn't get through.
Qin Mengyu learned that Fu Jingsheng was about to fly to Harbin and told Xie Ke not to show up.
She tried to stall Fu Jingsheng.
Qin Mengyu deliberately bumped into the hotel mirror, breaking her head. She called Fu Jingsheng and said there was a lot of blood.
Keep others away from your head and body.
Fu Jingsheng hesitated for a moment on his way to the airport.
"Mr. Fu, are you not feeling well?" Qin Mengyu cried out twice, "Mr. Fu, please help me."
Amidst the cries for help nearby and the uncertain danger in the distance, Fu Jingsheng pressed his temples with his fingertips: "He Wei, take them to find Ye Jianming. I've also arranged for people to go to Harbin; I'll go there later."
He thought that he had arranged for so many people to go to Harbin to look for Rong Yan, while Qin Mengyu could only rely on him in Tiancheng.
"I'll take a taxi there." The man went to the hotel where Qin Mengyu was staying.
Qin Mengyu was lying on the ground when she saw Fu Jingsheng coming over, her tears and nosebleed mixed together.
Fu Jingsheng wrapped the woman's head in a towel and took her to the hospital.
During the consultation, Qin Mengyu bribed the doctor to tell Fu Jingsheng that he had recently had an abortion, and that staying up late and drinking alcohol had caused too much damage, resulting in poor uterine recovery and a risk of fainting at any time. She suggested that he stay in the hospital for observation.
Fu Jingsheng helped her with the hospital admission procedures.
After everything was arranged, he wanted to rush to Harbin, but found that the earliest flight was tomorrow at noon.
The man called He Wei from inside the car, but He Wei had already boarded the plane and the call could not be connected.
He then asked Ye Jianming about the situation, saying that He Wei had already set off with his men, and that he had notified everyone in Harbin to search for him. He would arrive the next afternoon.
Ye Jianming slammed the mouse down and asked Fu Jingsheng why he had to wait until tomorrow.
The man hesitated for a moment and said that something had come up and he hoped that Ye Jianming would keep him updated.
Upon hearing that Fu Jingsheng was at the hospital with Qin Mengyu, Ye Jianming was furious.
"Go find out for yourself." He immediately blocked Fu Jingsheng.
At Tiancheng Municipal Hospital, Fu Jingsheng, though kept occupied by Qin Mengyu, couldn't calm down at all.
He sent messages to Ye Jianming several times but received no reply. He then made an excuse to go out to buy something and called back, only to find that he had been blocked.
He Wei hasn't met with Ye Jianming yet, and the people searching in Harbin haven't found any leads either.
After two hours, he couldn't stand it any longer.
"President Qin, I'll find someone reliable to come and take care of you. I have to leave." Fu Jingsheng asked one of his housekeepers to come over.
Qin Mengyu knew that the plane tickets were sold out and that she would have to drive to Harbin, which would take until at least tomorrow. By then, Xie Ke would have already taken care of everything, so she nodded and agreed.
Fu Jingsheng drove to Harbin overnight.
On a moonlit night with few stars, a sliver of light shone from the rooftop. With the door wide open, Rong Yan's suffocating feeling wasn't as intense. She felt she wouldn't die anytime soon, but if the weather was bad, she wouldn't live much longer.
