Is Chapter 217 Cheap?

Rong Yan crouched down, sneaked out from Fu Jingsheng's arms, and quickly ran to the door: "Fu Jingsheng, we agreed to go to the jade market. Mom works so hard, we must prepare a...gift for her." As she uttered the last two words, Rong Yan realized that it might upset the man, so she spoke very softly.

Fu Jingsheng had no intention of doing it again. He couldn't handle it several times a day; he was just teasing his wife.

"Come in and change your clothes," he beckoned to Rong Yan.

Rong Yan clung to the door frame: "You change first, and I'll come in after you're done."

Fu Jingsheng changed in front of Rong Yan, and the woman covered her eyes, saying, "You should stay away from me."

The man licked his cheek and replied nonchalantly, "We're an old married couple, what's there to be shy about? Which one are you wearing? I'll change for you."

Upon hearing this, Rong Yan immediately pushed open the glass door and came in, placing her hands on the man's back and pushing him towards the door: "No need to trouble President Fu, I can do it myself."

She locked Fu Jingsheng out of the door, changed her clothes, and touched up her makeup.

Jade market.

As soon as Rong Yan entered a store, she took a liking to something suitable. She decided to spend a few hundred thousand yuan to test the waters first, as she remembered that her mother-in-law liked emerald green.

Fu Jingsheng was interested in items worth tens of thousands of yuan, mainly because he didn't want his wife to spend money, even though his money was kept by Rong Yan.

After buying the bracelet, Rong Yan used her own money to buy a pair of jade rings, one for herself and one for Fu Jingsheng. Having bought everything she wanted, Rong Yan didn't want to go back so soon.

So she said, "Should we get one for Sayuri? And one for Hoshizaki too..."

"Can."

Rong Yan sent a text message to Xiao Baihe, pretending to ask her if she knew anything about jade, how to choose it, and what kind she liked. As for her best friend's hobbies, Rong Yan knew very well.

Tiancheng Municipal Hospital.

After Liang Jia completed the discharge procedures, Tang Wan did not appear as expected, and the woman was somewhat disappointed.

Lu Kai was waiting at the door. When he saw her come out, he went up to help her carry her things. When Liang Jia saw him, she lost her usual joy.

"Are you still angry?" Lu Kai asked.

Liang Jia smiled and shook her head in denial: "No, I want to go home and rest for two days."

"Okay, you don't need to worry about the company." After Lu Kai took Liang Jia home, Liang Jia made an excuse to rest and told the man to go back.

After confirming that Lu Kai had left, Liang Jia put on makeup, covered her wound, and went to the clinic to find Tang Wan.

In her office, Tang Wan finished seeing all the patients that morning and was about to go for lunch when the receptionist called her, saying that a lady named Liang Jia was looking for her in the lobby.

Liang Jia? Tang Wan frowned involuntarily. What was she doing here? Was she asking her not to block her?

Tang Wan refused: "Just say I'm busy and don't have time."

"Ms. Liang said she's waiting downstairs," the receptionist relayed.

"Fine." Tang Wan hung up the phone. Was she threatening her by refusing to leave? Let's see how long she can hold out.

The woman, who had originally planned to have lunch, had to stay in the office to avoid Liang Jia and asked a colleague to bring her lunch over.

"Hello, could you please tell Dr. Tang that I'll be waiting for her in the car?" Many people in the clinic recognized Liang Jia, and feeling embarrassed to face them, she went back to her car.

The receptionist called Tang Wan again.

Tang Wan was a little annoyed. Should she see him or not? Hiding wasn't a solution either. Given Liang Jia's personality, if she didn't see him today, he would probably come every day afterward.

She ate a few bites of rice, went downstairs, and found Liang Jia's car in the parking lot.

Tang Wan knocked on the car window expressionlessly.

Liang Jia looked up at the sound and saw her friend. A smile unconsciously appeared on her face. She quickly opened the door: "Wanwan, I knew you couldn't bear to see me waiting."

Tang Wan looked away. She couldn't bear to look directly at Liang Jia's vulnerable appearance. If she looked any longer, she might feel sorry for her, so she simply stopped looking.

Liang Jia grabbed her friend's arm and shook it, her voice choked with sobs: "Wanwan, why did you block me? I came to find you the moment I was discharged from the hospital. Don't you even want me anymore?"

The woman had tears in her eyes, as if she had suffered a great injustice.

"Can you stop crying? Am I a trash can?" Tang Wan feigned impatience. "You came to me just to watch you cry?"

Liang Jia wiped away her tears: "Don't cry, please don't ignore me, okay?"

"If you can break up with him, we can still be friends," Tang Wan said firmly.

Liang Jia bit her lip, and after a long while, she said, "Wanwan, he apologized, and he promised he wouldn't do it again..."

Tang Wan shook her head: "Liang Jia, you still believe his nonsense?"

Despite Liang Jia's earnest explanation, Tang Wan's opinion of Lu Kai not only did not change, but she became increasingly disgusted with him.

"Stop," she snapped at Liang Jia. "I don't want to hear what he has to say. You believe what a man says? We have nothing more to say to each other."

Tang Wan turned to leave.

Liang Jia grabbed her again.

"How shameless!" Tang Wan brushed the woman's hand away.

"Isn't it shameless?" her good friend asked her. Liang Jia stood with her hands hanging at her sides, staring blankly as Tang Wan left.

After Lu Kai left, the more he thought about it, the more something seemed wrong. Liang Jia used to be so clingy to him, so why was she urging him to leave today?

He turned his car around and drove back to the residential area.

The man went upstairs and knocked on the door, but there was no response for a long time. Liang Jia was indeed hiding something from him.

Lu Kai called Liang Jia to ask where she was, unaware that the man was already at her doorstep.

"I'm sleeping at home, what's wrong?" Liang Jia lied.

"You cried? Your voice sounds so nasal." Lu Kai immediately recognized it.

Liang Jia continued to deny it.

Lu Kai grew impatient, his voice rising: "Aren't you going to tell the truth? I'm at the door, why won't you open it for me?"

Liang Jia's head was buzzing. Lu Kai actually went back. Didn't he believe her?

She was afraid that if she didn't tell the truth, the man would bang on the door and go crazy, so she said, "I'm at the clinic. Tang Wan blocked me. If I come to find her and she ignores me, I won't be able to get any information."

"A clinic?" Lu Kai was skeptical.

Before the man could ask any more questions, Liang Jia took the initiative to turn on the video call: "See, isn't that right? I'm going back right away."

Upon seeing the two large characters "Songshan," the man's tone softened: "Yes, I was worried about you. I felt something was wrong with you after I left, and I was afraid something had happened, so I came to check on you. I'm glad you're alright. I'm going back now."

After hanging up the video call, Liang Jia slumped over the steering wheel. After a while, she went to the first floor of the clinic and asked the receptionist to notify Tang Wan.

Why are you here again? Tang Wan asked the receptionist to bring her over.

If Liang Jia couldn't persuade Tang Wan, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to help Lu Kai, so she pretended to agree to her friend's request and stopped contacting Lu Kai.

Tang Wan didn't quite believe it, so Liang Jia blocked Lu Kai in front of her.

When the man got home, he sent a message to Liang Jia, only to find that she had blocked him.

The man couldn't sit still any longer and dialed Liang Jia's number, only to hear a message that the call could not be connected.

What is this woman doing?

He changed his number and called Liang Jia, but the woman guessed that the unfamiliar number might be Lu Kai's and hung up immediately.

Tang Wan knew that Liang Jia blocking Lu Kai didn't mean anything, but at least she had changed a little bit.

"The last time." Tang Wan said, emphasizing each word.

Finally released, Liang Jia left the clinic and immediately contacted Lu Kai to meet.
