Afterwards, Fu Jingsheng stood on the balcony smoking. He was clearly too weak to keep up with his desires, but he couldn't control himself. The words "sex addiction" flashed through his mind.
The reason I used to have this thought was that Rong Yan said he couldn't do it, and he wanted to prove himself. But now that he has proven himself, why is the frequency of this thought increasing?
He took a deep drag on his cigarette. Was he having a psychological problem?
After Rong Yan finished, she went to sleep, unaware of Fu Jingsheng's emotional state.
The man on the balcony became increasingly anxious. He searched for symptoms of sex addiction online and immediately diagnosed himself as having mild addiction, requiring timely treatment.
While Rong Yan was asleep, Fu Jingsheng made an appointment with a doctor himself.
——
Tiancheng, Art Museum Market.
Han Yue planned to take care of four children. Rong Shiyu and her sister had lived abroad for many years and had never been to a market. After listening to Han Yue's description, the two of them couldn't wait to ask their grandmother to take them there.
Unlike ordinary markets, art museum markets require tickets to enter. The market is located inside the art museum, and the tickets are more expensive than those for typical tourist attractions, making it a niche spot for taking photos.
The market is held for five days at the end of each month, with a different theme each time. This time, the theme is "Memories," and it features toys, snacks, and various nostalgic items from the 1980s and 90s.
Logically, the grandchildren shouldn't have liked it, but when they heard that those things were things their grandmother used when she was a child and were very different from what they have now, they all became interested.
The maid in charge of the children's meals applied to come along, as she was worried that Han Yue wouldn't be able to handle four children by herself.
The driver dropped them off at the entrance of the art museum. Han Yue never used to come to crowded places, but she chose this place specifically because the child likes lively places.
Fu Yunlei got out of the car and exclaimed "Wow!" several times. If it were an art museum, you could see the densely packed stalls inside just by standing at the entrance. If it were a market, who has a market that occupies several floors indoors? The key is that the people coming and going are dressed in very special ways.
Han Yue realized she had come to the right place. Being there felt like stepping back into her youth. The vendors were dressed very carefully, and many of the people at the market were wearing clothes that looked like they were from the 1980s or 1990s.
Floral shirt, jeans. Rong Shiyu stared, mesmerized.
"Sister, do you remember the Hong Kong dramas that Mom liked? The characters dressed like this, and their hair was just like this too. We actually saw it!" Rong Shimo recalled watching the dramas with her mother.
"It really is! Are Grandma and the others dressed in Hong Kong style?" the little girl asked Han Yue.
"Little rascal, you know all this, you've learned quite a lot." Han Yue looked at her two grandsons again, and could only exclaim in surprise. It's true that children are better off with their mothers.
Fu Yunting asked his grandmother what Hong Kong style was, and Rong Shiyu eagerly answered.
"Let's go in quickly, I see candied hawthorns." Fu Yunlei didn't care about style. He glanced over and saw many things he wanted to eat, and his mouth was watering.
"Can't you learn knowledge like your younger sister? All you do is eat." Han Yue pretended to scold.
"Grandma, I want to try some of your favorite foods, my tummy is growling." Fu Yunlei and his brother used to be strictly controlled by Fu Jingsheng, so after Rong Yan came back and the rules were lifted, the two children completely let loose when it came to food.
"Let's go." Han Yue pinched her grandson's nose.
After visiting only a few stores, the four children already had their hands full of things.
The food in his left and right hands was different. Fu Yunlei and his brother ate from the left and right sides at the same time. Han Yue was worried that her little darling would get an upset stomach, so she tried to stop one of them, but couldn't stop the other.
Rong Shiyu and the others were more interested in the gadgets, so she asked her grandma to video call her mother.
After waking up from her afternoon nap, Rong Yan sat on the sofa in a daze. When her mother-in-law called, she immediately stood up and pretended to be energetic.
"Mom," Rong Shimo called out.
"Where are you?" Rong Yan asked with a smile.
"Dad." Fu Jingsheng heard his daughter call for his mother and walked behind his wife.
“We went to the market with Grandma, and she said that you used to play with these things when you were little, right?” Rong Shiyu switched the camera and asked, looking at the dazzling array of items on the stall.
"When you go to the market, don't run around. Listen to Grandma. Stop the camera for a second. I can't see anything if it keeps shaking."
Rong Shiyu pointed her camera at one of the stalls, which was selling metal jumping frogs.
"It really is amazing." Rong Yan's eyes lit up. "It's been so long since I've seen such a little gadget."
"Does Mom like it? I brought my allowance, I'll buy it for you."
"Mom, I want to buy you a gift too."
"And me too."
The four children eagerly spoke.
"What about me?" Fu Jingsheng's entire face was clearly in the camera's view, but apart from the first "Dad" he said, he seemed to have disappeared. Didn't anyone think of giving him a gift?
"And me?" the man asked directly.
“Dad, didn’t you dislike these things? When we played with toys before, you always said, ‘What’s so fun about them?’” Fu Yunlei used Fu Jingsheng’s words to brush him off.
Fu Jingsheng: ...
Is the toy the main point? The main point is the gift, the gift that the children thought of when they went out to play.
Rong Yan understood what her husband meant, and she spoke up for the children: "How could we not give Dad a gift? We definitely didn't tell him, we wanted to give him a surprise."
When Fu Jingsheng wasn't looking at the camera, she winked at the children, but her son didn't take the bait.
"No, I only surprise my mom."
After Fu Yunting finished speaking, Fu Jingsheng felt even more heartbroken.
Rong Yan awkwardly wiped her sweat: "Yun Ting didn't mean that. Mom doesn't understand your little scheme. Dad is just waiting for the surprise."
Before the little boy could say anything more, Rong Yan quickly changed the subject: "Are those colorful windmills over there? Let Mommy see."
Fu Jingsheng walked straight out of the room. If he didn't like him, fine, he'd just leave and avoid seeing him and getting upset.
Half an hour later, Rong Yan still hadn't come out, so Fu Jingsheng went back to the living room and made an excuse to have his wife hang up the phone.
He had been angry by himself for so long, but they were having a good time, chatting and laughing heartily, completely disregarding his feelings.
After ending the call with the children, Rong Yan recounted what they had just said to Fu Jingsheng, reflecting on the conversation.
The man's face grew increasingly grim, and he interrupted, "There's a reason I'm so strict with them. Look at how they treat me."
"You just stormed out in anger?" Rong Yan realized.
“Yes! You are his mother, and a mother has to pay for her son’s debts. Tell me, how will you compensate me?” Fu Jingsheng pretended to make things difficult for Rong Yan.
The woman stepped back, creating some distance between them: "I'll transfer you the money, or we can go to the mall right now, and I'll buy you whatever you want."
The man smirked, "You know what I want, no need to spend money." He quickly reached out and gently pulled Rong Yan into his arms.
"There has to be someone in this family who only wants to be affectionate with me, right? I can't count on those ungrateful wretches." Fu Jingsheng stroked Rong Yan's lips. "They have to coax me a little."
