Chapter 108 To meet, you need to climb over the wall.

"Why are you here?" Bai Nuo was still drowsy and not very lucid.

Hu Mingmei nuzzled Bai Nuo's head, "I couldn't bear to leave you. I climbed over the wall to get in."

Bai Nuo almost laughed upon hearing this, but out of consideration for Hu Mingmei's pride, she held back.

Wherever he goes or what he does, he always acts like a refined gentleman, but now he has to climb over the wall.

Hu Mingmei was even more frustrated. "Your grandma has a problem with me. She doesn't like me anymore!" She used to like him a lot, but now she's actually driving him away.

"Probably because he's afraid I'll be with you!" Bai Nuo said calmly.

"Being with you won't hurt you!"

Bai Nuo sat up in bed, facing Hu Mingmei. The room was dark, and Hu Mingmei's face was completely hidden in the darkness, except for his bright eyes... which also looked a little aggrieved.

Bai Nuo couldn't help but reach out and pinch Hu Mingmei's cheek. "How can that be the same? I'm only thirteen years old now, still a child. You're already an adult. You're like an old cow trying to eat young grass. Of course, my grandma is worried!"

The main concern was that she might suffer losses and damage her reputation; Bai Nuo knew what Grandma was thinking.

"Are there any old oxen like me?"

"No!"

Seeing that Hu Mingmei still looked listless, Bai Nuo felt a pang of heartache. She reached out and hugged his waist, pressing her face against his chest, and comforted him, "I'll talk to her, and she'll agree."

Hu Mingmei sighed softly, patted her head, and said nothing.

Neither of them knew when they fell asleep. When Bai Nuo opened her eyes, it was already broad daylight. She suddenly remembered Hu Mingmei. He hadn't left last night; he had stayed in her room.

Turning my head, I saw Hu Mingmei leaning against the headboard, her long legs stretched out on the floor.

He's so tall, it must be so uncomfortable for him to stretch his legs out like that.

Bai Nuo got out of bed, reached out and touched his face. Hmm, great skin, high nose bridge, long eyelashes, perfect score.

"Second Master..." Bai Nuo didn't dare to stare at Hu Mingmei for too long. After secretly taking a bite of tofu, he shook Hu Mingmei awake.

Hu Mingmei opened her eyes almost immediately, and when she had just woken up, there was still a trace of confusion in her eyes.

"You should go!" Bai Nuo said softly from the side. "If you don't go now, you won't be able to leave."

Hu Mingmei suddenly hugged Bai Nuo, burying his face in her shoulder, and said in a muffled voice, "Then I won't leave!"

They were both unmarried, acting like it was something they couldn't be in the open. When had he ever been so secretive?

"Stop fooling around!" Bai Nuo patted Hu Mingmei on the back. "Wait for me by the pond, I'll be out in a bit!"

Having not slept well last night, Hu Mingmei was in a terrible mood upon waking, her face icy cold. "What?"

"I'll show you something!" Bai Nuo got off the bed, went barefoot to the door and opened it a crack. Seeing that Aunt Liu hadn't gotten up yet, Bai Nuo came back and pulled Hu Mingmei up. "Hurry up and go, wait for me outside!"

After pushing Hu Mingmei out and watching him climb over the wall again, Bai Nuo closed the door again, combed her hair, changed her clothes, went to the yard to fetch well water to wash her face, and just as she was about to take the hammer and other things out, she ran into the old woman.

"Grandma!" Bai Nuo stopped in her tracks, unsure whether to go or not.

There was no way around it; she was genuinely a little guilty.

She forced herself to remain calm and appear natural. "Why are you up so early?"

As Aunt Liu pushed the old woman along, she looked at her and smiled, "I'm getting old, so I sleep less. I can't sleep after dawn, so I just get up."

The way the old woman said it made it sound like she knew something, so Bai Nuo dared not reply.

"Where are you going?" The old woman's gaze fell on the iron hammer in Bai Nuo's hand.

"Oh, I'm going out to retrieve some things!" Bai Nuo looked at the hammer in his hand and explained, "Don't I own a shop in town? We're almost out of supplies, so I need to go out and find some more."

"Are we just going like this?" The old woman nodded and then asked.

"Huh?" Bai Nuo didn't quite understand what the old woman was talking about.

"Aren't you taking a bucket?" The old woman pointed to Bai Nuo's other empty hand. "You're going there empty-handed, what are you going to bring back?"

"Oh!" Bai Nuo exclaimed in sudden realization, slapping her forehead. "I forgot, I'll go get it now."

The old woman snorted, "I think you haven't forgotten, you're just in a hurry, aren't you?"

Bai Nuo felt ashamed and didn't dare to reply. She turned around, grabbed the bucket, said, "Grandma, I'm going out!" and left in a flash.

Once outside, Bai Nuo headed straight for the fishpond. There, she saw Hu Mingmei waiting for her. Hu Mingmei had been facing away from her, but perhaps knowing she was coming, he turned around to look at her before she even came over.

"Have you been waiting long?" Bai Nuo grabbed the bucket and ran over in a flash.

"Are you taking me fishing again?" Hu Mingmei pointed at the bucket in Bai Nuo's hand, her resentful tone making Bai Nuo wonder if Hu Mingmei had a phobia of fishing.

I'll probably remember it for the rest of my life.

After all, not everyone who goes down to catch a fish will drown.

"No!" Bai Nuo put down the bucket, rolled up her trousers, took off her shoes, and said as she did so, "This time I'll get you something different!"

"What do you want to do?" Seeing that Bai Nuo wanted to go into the water, Hu Mingmei grabbed her.

Bai Nuo looked at Hu Mingmei with a puzzled expression, "I'll go down!"
