"I don't care!" the man roared. "Try not returning it!" As he roared, the man slammed his hand on the table, making a deafening noise. The teapot fell directly onto the table, and the water inside gurgled and poured out, winding a path on the table before dripping onto the floor.
The teapot rolled to the ground with a perfectly round motion, making a crisp sound, and then shattered into pieces, scattering across the room.
The man didn't care and continued yelling at Bai Nuo and Hu Mingmei, "I'm telling you, if you return the goods today, fine. But if you don't, I'll tear this whole store down!"
Bai Nuo and the others immediately turned cold. Before Hu Mingmei could move, Xia Donglai took the lead, silently standing behind the man and coldly asking, "What did you just say? We didn't hear you clearly. Say it again?"
The man's wife was watching Xia Donglai's expression closely. Seeing his expressionless face, she suddenly felt a little scared and said uneasily, "Husband, why don't we just let it go?"
They've already smashed my things, so there's basically no way I can get compensation. I might as well go home early to avoid offending these people.
"What do you mean, 'calculate'?" the man roared, immediately turning around and glaring at Xia Donglai. "You think I'm afraid of you just because you sneak up behind me? I said, pay up! If you don't, I'll tear your shop down!"
Xia Dong looked at Bai Nuo, but Bai Nuo shook her head at him.
She absolutely couldn't set this precedent, otherwise things would get out of control!
"Good! You've got guts!" Xia Donglai said calmly, looking at the man, before suddenly making his move.
He moved with lightning speed, twisting the man's hand behind his back in an instant. The man didn't have time to say anything, only letting out a cry of pain!
The man was clearly trained as well. After Xia Donglai grabbed his hands, a feeling of defiance ignited in his heart. He let Xia Donglai hold his hands, but instead, he attacked Xia Donglai's leg from behind.
Although Xia Donglai's martial arts skills were not the best in the martial arts world, they were still respectable. He sparred with Lu Ying every day, so how could he be injured by someone who was simple-minded, physically strong, and only knew how to roar?
Immediately, Xia Donglai suddenly raised one leg and, before the man could retract his leg, forcefully kicked towards the back of his knee!
The man could no longer hold on and knelt on one knee. His hands were tied behind his back by Xia Donglai, and he knelt in the direction of Bai Nuo.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Xia Donglai kicked off the man's other leg.
Everything happened in an instant; by the time the man's wife realized what was happening, her husband had already been subdued.
"Master!" the woman screamed, and immediately tried to come up and help, but Xia Donglai gave her a murderous look, and she dared not move.
"Get them out of here," Hu Mingmei said calmly, pulling Bai Nuo back toward the counter.
"Remember to have them take the bracelet away," Bai Nuo said, then followed Hu Mingmei back inside the counter and began processing the pearls.
Xia Donglai nodded silently. After pressing several acupoints on the man, the man, who was so big, immediately became limp.
After Xia Donglai dealt with the burly man, he looked at the woman seriously and said, "Go ahead and cause trouble, go ahead and slander us, but if I catch you causing trouble, I will make you wish you were dead!"
That man was a formidable figure in the neighborhood; no one dared to mess with him, nor could they possibly win. But now, he had been dealt with so easily. How could the woman dare to speak? She immediately said, "No, no, we bought the items. We won't return them, and we won't cause any trouble!"
Xia Donglai gave a light snort, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with the woman's words.
"Then... can we go now?" Seeing that Xia Donglai remained silent, the woman cautiously pointed at the man and said, "Our family is waiting for us to go back and cook."
Why are you cooking so early? Is it lunch or dinner? It's just an excuse.
However, Xia Donglai didn't care whether it was an excuse or not. They had no intention of keeping them here anyway, since they would have to be fed if they stayed!
Xia Donglai nodded. The woman thanked him profusely and helped her husband away.
"What if they come and cause trouble?" Bai Nuo asked Hu Mingmei after they left.
It wasn't that Bai Nuo was afraid of trouble, but rather that the man was simply too different from her.
If Bai Dalin were here, it would be easy for Bai Nuo to handle him.
But now they were facing a man weighing over 200 pounds!
"It's alright!" Xia Donglai laughed. "I'll be here when the time comes. If I'm not here, I'll teach you a few acupressure techniques. You might find them useful. Don't be fooled by other people's big bodies; they're not that big."
Bai Nuo nodded. It's good that Xia Donglai is here.
"Don't be afraid!" Hu Mingmei said calmly, "I'm here for you, everything will be alright!"
Bai Nuo nodded again.

The sunset glowed like fire, filling the entire sky and turning the earth crimson. Bai Nuo and Hu Mingmei walked out of the Duobao Pavilion together. Hu Mingmei strolled down the steps and watched Bai Nuo lock the door.
Bai Nuo closed the two large doors, gathered the door knockers together, hung the yellow brass locks, turned the key, and locked the locks. Bai Nuo reached out and pulled on them to make sure they weren't opened before coming downstairs.
