"Mmm..." Upon smelling Hu Mingmei's familiar scent, Bai Nuo burst into tears. "I almost died, Zhang Wu... Zhang Wu..."
Hu Mingmei's face was grim as he said in a deep voice, "He's still alive!"
Having witnessed all sorts of bloody things, Bai Nuo felt that she wasn't afraid of death, but she was very afraid of implicating others.
"Alright, alright!" Hu Mingmei reassured Bai Nuo gently, "It's alright, it's over, you're safe now!"
"What's wrong? What's wrong?" The door suddenly opened, and Old Man Dugu rushed in from outside. "What happened?"
As soon as he entered, he saw Hu Mingmei holding Bai Nuo, and a man lying on the bed. He immediately asked, "What happened? Which of you killed someone?"
Bai Nuo stepped out of Hu Mingmei's arms. Hu Mingmei turned around and asked coldly, "Are you done cooking?"
Hu Mingmei remained unchanged, and the old man Dugu didn't mind his rudeness. On the contrary, he felt that Hu Mingmei was becoming more and more like his grandmother. He walked in, sat down at the table, and poured himself a cup of tea. "Which of you had an accident? Little girl, was it you?"
Bai Nuo nodded, her eyes red as she looked at Hu Mingmei. Hu Mingmei felt heartbroken seeing her like this, so she pulled her to sit down at the table and asked, "What happened? How did you end up with Zhang Wu?" And Zhang Wu was seriously injured like this?
"I..." Bai Nuo kept sobbing as she talked about what happened. Hu Mingmei and Old Man Dugu didn't urge her. Bai Nuo waited until she calmed down before telling the whole story. "That's how it was. Zhang Wu saved me. I thought he had run away too, but I don't know when he got injured."
If Zhang Wu hadn't stopped her, she wouldn't be back today.
