She believed that at this moment, Baihu's eyes must have been burning, because her hands were too.
This stuff is incredibly poisonous; it kills a thousand enemies but also injures eight hundred of your own.
Bai Nuo dared not answer Bai Hu's question. Although this person was blind, if someone like her could become an assassin, her strength must be considerable. Who knew if her hearing was good or not? She was afraid that if she made a sound, Bai Hu would find her location and stab her.
But... Bai Nuo smiled bitterly. She discovered that although she had temporarily blinded the white tiger, it still walked straight towards her, staggering but still heading in the right direction.
The sword in his hand gleamed in the cold wind.
"Fine," Bai Nuo thought to himself, "Looks like I'm definitely going to die here today!"
"What are you doing?" Suddenly, just as Bai Nuo was about to despair, a loud shout came from behind Bai Hu. Although Bai Hu couldn't open his eyes, he still subconsciously turned around to look. Not only Bai Hu, but Bai Nuo did the same.
She immediately recognized Zhang Wu as the person standing by the roadside watching them. Upon seeing Bai Nuo and then the sword in Bai Hu's hand, Zhang Wu quickly crouched down, picked up a stone from the roadside, and threw it forcefully at Bai Hu, shouting, "Miss Bai, run!"
Although the white tiger couldn't see the stone, it still heard the sound of it cutting through the air and instinctively dodged. Seeing this, Bai Nuo quickly ran past the bamboo forest.
The white tiger immediately pounced on Bai Nuo.
"Run!" Zhang Wu, holding a stone, pounced and struck the white tiger on the head. The white tiger staggered and turned around abruptly.
Those eyes were only slightly open, but the gloomy expression made Zhang Wu subconsciously let go.
Baihu raised his longsword and thrust it forward, but Zhang Wu retreated swiftly.
"Young Master Zhang, run!!" Bai Nuo kept running, but kept watching the situation. Seeing that Bai Hu was dealing with Zhang Wu, he didn't care whether he could escape or not. He grabbed a broken bamboo pole from the ground and stabbed it at Bai Hu. He pushed hard and, taking advantage of Bai Hu's pain, quickly let go and ran to the side of the road.
There was a horse parked by the roadside, which should belong to Zhang Wu. Bai Nuo didn't have time to think much. She quickly mounted the horse, grabbed the rope with one hand, and looked back. Zhang Wu was running towards her at high speed, with Bai Hu chasing after him.
"Zhang Wu!" Bai Nuo shouted, reaching out his hand to Zhang Wu.
Zhang Wu ran towards her with all his might, and with her help, he mounted his horse. The white tiger pounced in front of him. Bai Nuo swung her whip at the white tiger, but it was caught by the tiger. Bai Nuo immediately let go and kicked the horse with both legs. The horse was in pain and immediately ran away.
Bai Nuo didn't dare to look back. She ran all the way to the main street before she breathed a sigh of relief. Now that she was in a crowded place, no matter how arrogant Bai Hu was, he wouldn't dare to kill someone in the street.
"Young Master Zhang, thank you!" Bai Nuo said as she rode her horse, turning her head back as she spoke. But when she turned her head, she saw Zhang Wu's drooping head, his eyes tightly closed, and his head resting on her shoulder.
"Zhang Wu!" Bai Nuo exclaimed in surprise, but Zhang Wu did not react at all!
"Zhang Wu!"
"Hey, watch where you're going! Are you trying to run someone over?" The sudden shout brought Bai Nuo back to her senses. Looking ahead, she realized she had almost stepped on someone. So she composed herself, looked at the road ahead, and hurried back to Duobao Pavilion.
"Hu Mingmei!" Bai Nuo shouted as she got down. As she got down, Zhang Wu collapsed completely. Only then did Bai Nuo see that Zhang Wu's back was stained red with blood.
Watching helplessly as someone collapsed silently in front of her, and this person collapsed because of her, Bai Nuo panicked immediately. She didn't even realize that she had started crying; she was just supporting Zhang Wu while calling out Hu Mingmei's name.
After only two calls, Hu Mingmei came out. Upon seeing her disheveled state and the person she was supporting, he was immediately alarmed and quickly went over to her, asking, "What happened?"
Bai Nuo cried out, "Run! There's an assassin!"
"Let's go inside and talk!" Hu Mingmei glanced to both sides, seeing nothing amiss, but not daring to linger, he quickly mounted his horse. Bai Nuo's emotions remained unstable. "Second Master, Zhang Wu... Zhang Wu..."
She never dared to say those words aloud. If Zhang Wu really died because of her, she would be haunted by guilt for the rest of her life, and she didn't know how to explain it to the Zhang family.
"It'll be alright. Go inside quickly. There's some wound medicine in the room in the backyard. Get it out, and then go find Xia Donglai and ask him to find a doctor. Xia Donglai is upstairs, do you hear me?"
Bai Nuo nodded, and seeing that she had nodded, Hu Mingmei quickly rode his horse and led Zhang Wu to the backyard.
Despite her confusion, Hu Mingmei's words reminded her of where she was, so she forced herself to calm down, wiped away her tears, and went upstairs.
First, Xia Donglai went to find a doctor. When Bai Nuo returned to the back room along the corridor, Hu Mingmei had just helped Zhang Wu up. Bai Nuo quickly opened the door and went to find some wound medicine inside.
"You go out first!" Hu Mingmei laid Zhang Wu face down on the bed. Seeing that his back was covered in blood, she frowned and said, "I'll stop the bleeding for him first. Go wash your face; you're so dirty!"
When Bai Nuoyi calmed down, she didn't know what to do, and she did whatever Hu Mingmei told her to do.
After Hu Mingmei tidied up Zhang Wu, he came over to check on Bai Nuo. Seeing that Bai Nuo was still clutching a towel and her hands were trembling, he grabbed Bai Nuo's hand without thinking, pulled her into his arms, and asked softly, "Are you scared?"
