The old woman rubbed her fingers against Bai Nuo's fair forehead, leaving a red mark. Bai Nuo felt a sharp pain on her forehead from the old woman's touch, but she didn't dare to dodge. She looked at her with a wronged expression, waiting for her to speak.
"That's your father, do you really want to kill him?" Seeing Bai Nuo's expression, the old woman was immediately annoyed. "How could you do such a thing?"
Bai Nuo opened her mouth, wanting to speak, but she couldn't explain herself. Wasn't her desire to harm her father also because you needed money? If she had money, she wouldn't have done such a thing. She was scared to death too, okay?
The old woman continued, "Do you know that murder can get you beheaded and imprisoned? Even if that person is your own father, you can't do this. What if something really happens?"
Bai Nuo continued looking at the old woman, "Then what do you want to do? I don't have money to call a doctor for you, and I guess A Yu doesn't have any money either." A Yu's money was given to him by her.
"Let your father pay!" the old woman said calmly. "I'm just lying down for a bit..."
As the old woman was about to lie down, Bai Nuo quickly stopped her. "Grandma, I want to move out. I don't want to live here. My stepmother is no good; she's so strange and unpleasant."
"I'm going to live here!" The old woman impatiently brushed Bai Nuo's hand away. "That's my son. My son told me to live here, so I'll live here. If he doesn't support me, who will? Let me tell you, if you're going to move out, don't even mention it again. I'm not moving."
"What if that person does something else?" Like pretending to be a good guy or something, and then they make Bai Dalin kick them out again?
“This is my son’s house, and my son is in charge.” The old woman looked at the doorway, somewhat angrily. “I just don’t believe she would dare to do such a thing. Nuonuo, I’ve thought it through. We’re going to live here. And you, be nicer to your father when you see him. Don’t give him the cold shoulder all the time. He’s your father, so give him some face. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Bai Nuo nodded, "I understand." Her grandmother was about to reconcile with her son in caring for her in her old age and seeing her off in her final days.
A breath of immortal energy got stuck in her throat, making her extremely uncomfortable. Unable to hold it in any longer, Bai Nuo couldn't help but ask, "Grandma, have you forgotten how Father treated you and us when we were starving?"
Since her mother died, her father quickly remarried and never looked at them again. Whenever there was food at home, her father would give it to her stepmother and her son. They were often hungry and cold. In front of others, her stepmother appeared gentle and virtuous, but behind her back, she would beat or pinch her. She did complain to Bai Dalin, but Bai Dalin would grab her and beat her again.
It is said that speaking ill of the stepmother made her feel bad.
“My son is still a good man. Did you see his attitude today? It shows that he still cares about me as his mother. The things that happened before were all stirred up by your stepmother. It has nothing to do with him.” The old woman said nonchalantly, her heart filled with gratitude for Bai Dalin’s tears.
"But……"
"Stop talking. You and your brother can continue to treat your stepmother the way you treat her, but you have to treat your father well. Call him 'Dad' when you see him, and don't act the same way as before." Bai Nuo's words were interrupted by the old woman.
Bai Nuo felt a chill in her heart. Could they have done this without her father's tacit approval?
Did all their previous suffering go to waste?
