Hu Mingmei always felt that Bai Nuo was a bit abnormal or was hiding some secret. Hu Mingmei remembered that when he first met Bai Nuo, Bai Nuo was not dressed so well. But now, although Bai Nuo was not wearing any expensive materials, he was much better off than before. Moreover, he had a carriage, and that black horse was not a cheap one. How long has it been? Lu Ying didn't know what Hu Mingmei's basis was, but he would do whatever Hu Mingmei said, so he immediately replied, "Yes, your subordinate will pay attention."
"Hmm..." Hu Mingmei stood up and said lightly, "You go ahead and wash, I'm going back now." Although the weather was already quite hot, Hu Mingmei still felt a bit cold when he touched the cool water, which made him feel uncomfortable. After Lu Ying left, Hu Mingmei wrung out a towel and carefully wiped his entire body. Then he soaked his feet in a bucket of hot water. The steaming water enveloped Hu Mingmei, who had his eyes closed, making his features appear even more ethereal.
"Second Master? Second Master?" When Hu Mingmei opened his eyes, he saw Lu Ying standing in front of him, dressed in his undergarments, looking at him with concern. Seeing that he was awake, Lu Ying immediately asked, "Second Master, are you feeling unwell?"
Hu Mingmei half-opened his eyes and saw that it was Lu Ying. He shook his head slightly, still a little dazed. His feet were ice cold. Looking down, he realized that the hot water in the bucket had long since cooled down.
Lu Ying took Hu Mingmei's feet out of the bucket and said worriedly, "Why are you asleep? The water's cold and you're still soaking your feet." If he hadn't come over to check on him, he wouldn't have noticed that Hu Mingmei had fallen asleep while soaking his feet. If the Second Master had slept like that all night, he would definitely be sick when he woke up tomorrow morning.
If Old Sun knew, he would definitely scold him to death. It's one thing for Hu Mingmei not to take care of her own health, but as Hu Mingmei's personal servant, he doesn't even bother to keep an eye on Hu Mingmei and remind her to take better care of her health!
Hu Mingmei let Lu Ying dry his feet and put them on the bed, then lay down himself. "What time is it?"
Lu Ying turned to look at the sky outside and said, "It's just past midnight, Second Master. You just had a relapse, so get some rest and don't worry about it anymore. If Old Sun finds out, he'll scold you again." He'd also get scolded along with her.
But before they could exchange more than a few words, Lu Ying discovered that Hu Mingmei had already fallen asleep, whether from exhaustion or illness, she didn't know.
With a soft "click," Hu Mingmei, who was fast asleep, immediately woke up. He was already a light sleeper, and now, in an unfamiliar environment, any slight noise would wake him up quickly, no matter how sleepy he was.
He listened quietly with his eyes open. There were no lights on in the room, but the moonlight was bright tonight, and he could see the table not far from the bed.
"Squeak!" Hu Mingmei heard the sound of the door opening and closing in the courtyard.
Looking at the sky, it was only around 3 AM, and it wasn't even dawn yet. Who would go out so early? Out of curiosity, Hu Mingmei got up, put on her shoes and socks, and without calling Lu Ying, quietly followed her out on her own.
After exiting the gate, Hu Mingmei didn't know where to go, so she looked around. Suddenly, she saw a figure on the left side of the gate. Hu Mingmei was someone who didn't believe in ghosts. Since there were no ghosts in the world, it must be a person, and it might even be the person who came out of the Bai family's gate.
Which one of them could it be?
As Hu Mingmei watched the person walk further and further away, he immediately put aside all his distracting thoughts and quickly followed after them.
After following for a while, Hu Mingmei saw that the person stopped not far ahead, so Hu Mingmei dared not follow any further and quickly stopped to watch as well.
