Wash the winter melon thoroughly without peeling it, then cut it into small, even-sized pieces. Bring water to a boil, add the winter melon, and bring it to a boil again. Then add the marinated lean meat and cook until the winter melon is soft and tender. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and add a suitable amount of salt before serving.
After making the winter melon soup, Bai Nuo went to make stir-fried pork ribs.
First, heat the oil in a wok. When the oil reaches 50% of its maximum temperature, add the ribs and fry until golden brown. Then, heat the oil again and fry them again when it reaches 70% of its maximum temperature. After that, remove the ribs again and drain off the excess oil.
Next, leave some oil in the pan, sauté minced garlic until fragrant, add the fried ribs, stir-fry evenly until the ribs are fully coated with the garlic aroma, then add soy sauce for seasoning, and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
The last one is garlic water spinach. Mince the garlic, heat oil in a pan, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Then add the water spinach and stir-fry until softened. Add a little water, bring to a boil briefly, then add a little soy sauce and salt to taste.
After the food was prepared, Bai Nuo was clearing the table when she picked up a towel from the table and was stunned. It was wet.

“Yeah.” A Yu swallowed the food in his mouth before speaking. “He attacked me as soon as he came, and I couldn’t beat him, so I had to run away.” A Yu didn’t mention the part about biting Bai Dalin, nor did he tell Bai Nuo what Bai Dalin had said to him.
"Did Bai Dalin go to the village chief's house with you?" Bai Nuo asked again.
“Yes!” A Yu said, “Bai Dalin followed me to the village chief’s house. Not only Bai Dalin came, but Chen Qiuling also came later. The two of them were scolded by the village chief and then left. I stayed until dark before I came back.”
Bai Nuo finally realized what that fleeting thought she had missed was. She turned to look at her grandmother, who happened to be looking at her too. When her grandmother saw Bai Nuo looking over, she quickly looked away and pretended that nothing had happened, quietly eating her meal.
"Have some more soup, it'll help cool you down." Bai Nuo stood up, walked over, took the old woman's bowl, and refilled it with winter melon soup before sitting down to eat.
After finishing the meal, Bai Nuo called A Yu out to wash the dishes, then took a stool and sat down in front of the old woman without saying a word, just looking at her.
The old woman already had something on her mind, and being stared at by Bai Nuo like that made her increasingly uncomfortable. She couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
"Grandma, tell me honestly, who came to our house today?" Bai Nuo stopped calling her "Grandma" and stared at her face, not missing a single expression.
"No, no one came." Sure enough, when the old woman spoke, a hint of unease flashed across her face, but it quickly disappeared. However, Bai Nuo had been watching the old woman the whole time, so she saw that expression.
Seeing that the old woman still denied it, Bai Nuo suddenly stood up, holding her breath, "Grandma, stop denying it. Someone must have come to the house today. Bai Dalin and Chen Qiuling came, right?"

"Fine! You won't tell the truth, huh? I'll go burn the Bai family down right now!" Bai Nuo turned and left. Since Bai Dalin had already hit A Yu, it wouldn't be unfair for her to set the house on fire!
"I said!" The old woman panicked when she saw Bai Nuo turn to leave and hurriedly said, "Bai Dalin and Chen Qiuling have both been here, don't be impulsive."
Bai Nuo walked back and sat down in front of the old woman, picking up the two wet towels. "What did they do to you? Did they splash water on you?"
When will these beasts ever stop?
"Speak!" Since the old woman didn't speak, Bai Nuo pressed her directly, "What did they do to you?"
"Chen Qiuling..." The old woman hesitated, and seeing that Bai Nuo's face was about to spit fire, she finally stammered out, "Chen Qiuling wanted to kill me, but she didn't succeed!"
"Want to suffocate you?" That explains why there's a wet towel on the table and by the bedside. So everything makes sense now.
"Yes," the old woman nodded.

Back at the Bai family home, Chen Qiuling ate dinner listlessly. Neither Bai Dalin nor Chen Zhi had returned. Bai Dalin was probably out looking for Zhuzi, but Chen Zhi hadn't come back all night either.
She was a little scared to eat and sleep alone, so she turned on all the lights in the house, and the bright light cast a very long shadow of Chen Qiuling.
After eating, Chen Qiuling really wanted to go find Bai Dalin and his son Chen Zhi, but when she went out, it was pitch black all around, so she didn't dare to go out. She could only wash up and go back to bed.
