She remembered some of what happened last night, but not the rest.
She seemed to have said a lot to Yuwen Sheng, some of which she couldn't help but blurt out because she was too excited, and some of which he deliberately induced her to say.
She wasn't quite sure what she had said, but since she could still see the sun the next day, she shouldn't have said anything she shouldn't have, right?
It was already daylight, and she stopped dwelling on what had happened after she got drunk the night before. She quickly got up, packed her things, and prepared to set off for Julu Kingdom.
She tiptoed to her feet, holding her breath the whole time, but Yuwen Sheng didn't wake up even after she was dressed, which she found strange.
Turning around, she carefully observed his complexion; he seemed to be in worse shape than she was, even more unwell than she was, suffering from a hangover.
She squatted down by the bed, clenched her little fists, and then reached out to touch his forehead, finding that it was indeed a little hot.
She reached out and shook him awake: "Yuwen Sheng, wake up, you have a fever."
After a long while, Yuwen Sheng slowly opened his eyes. The moment he opened his eyes, a sinister red light appeared in them, like some kind of cold-blooded beast that had been killing people. Zheng Quchi was so frightened that his back stiffened and he subconsciously decided to run away.
He stared at her silently for a moment before he seemed to recognize who she was.
"Yeah, it's nothing."
He glanced away, noticing some sweat on his collar. He stood up and, without any hesitation, began to undress in front of her, putting on the clothes he had prepared for the trip.
"Aren't you going to call a military doctor to come and take a look?"
Zheng Quchi quickly hid behind the screen. She remembered the wounds on his body and worried that they had become infected due to improper treatment.
Logically speaking, he should be resting in bed now, but he doesn't rest for a moment, going back and forth dealing with all sorts of things as if nothing happened. She almost forgot that he was still carrying a body full of injuries.
"I've always endured these kinds of injuries on my own. We're about to set off for Julu Kingdom, so you can go take care of your business first."
Zheng Quchi did not move for a moment.
After dressing, Yuwen Sheng put on a mask and gloves, exuding an air of noble dignity, completely different from how he appeared in front of Zheng Quchi. He summoned Wang Zebang: "Is the convoy ready?"
"General, all preparations for the journey to Julu Kingdom are complete, and we are ready to depart at any time."
At this moment, Zheng Quchi said to Yuwen Sheng, "I just remembered that I still have some things to finish. You guys go to the meeting point first, and I'll follow you right away."
