Chapter 131 Sobering Up

“It’s not easy, but it’s not easy either,” Prince Shen replied to Princess Shen. “Let’s go back and rest. My nephew has been on the battlefield since he was twelve years old, fighting against the Northern Barbarians for so many years. It’s not an easy thing for him. He can do it with a little planning. Besides, he has a princess with a low-profile family background. I think many people will be happy to see this happen.”

"Um."

Xiao Zhan sat by Jiang Wei's bedside and gently tucked a strand of hair from her face behind her ear.

Jiang Wei's lips moved a few times, and she reached out and grabbed Xiao Zhan's hand. "Little brother, you promised to make me happy and play with me. You even accepted my betrothal gifts, so you're mine now. You can't run away anymore."

Xiao Zhan smiled. Getting drunk did have some advantages; she was now telling him everything that she had refused to admit during the day.

"Answer me." Jiang Wei hadn't received a reply from Xiao Zhan for a long time. She tried to open her eyes, but her eyelids kept twitching and she couldn't open them.

My eyelids are so heavy.

Xiao Zhan gently stroked Jiang Wei's eyes with his other hand, "Okay, I promise you, go to sleep!"

Jiang smiled and rubbed his face against the hand she was holding.

"Sigh," she mumbled, then drifted off to sleep.

Xiao Zhan smiled indulgently, pulled his hand out of hers, and tucked the blanket around her.

Once outside, let Dewdrop come in to take care of him.

"Is it done?" Prince Shen sat in the main room drinking tea.

"Okay, let's go!" Xiao Zhan said.

Prince Shen stood up, and the two walked outside.

If he didn't have other things to do, he really wanted to lie down and sleep with the princess.

But he was afraid that if he lay down, he wouldn't be able to get up.

I've been sitting here waiting for Xiao Zhan, thankfully the kid came out quickly enough.

…………………

When Xiao Zhan and the others returned, there was already a sliver of light in the sky.

Prince Shen followed Xiao Zhan into the main house, and the two sat down to warm themselves. "Aren't you going to take a nap?"

"Yes, we'll head straight back to the capital once Miss Jiang wakes up."

Prince Shen nodded, then warmed his hands in the warm water. Feeling that he was warm enough, he went straight out the door. "I'm not in a hurry to return to the capital. I'll go back and have a warm sleep with the Princess."

Once inside, Prince Shen took off his outer garment and slipped into Princess Shen's bed.

He held her in his arms, saying, "Your Highness is so gentle."

Prince Shen buried his head in Princess Shen's chest...

Princess Consort Shen was already somewhat awake when Prince Shen entered.

The familiar scent of Prince Shen filled her nostrils, and she felt safe enough to drift off to sleep again.

I went to bed a little late last night.

A moment later, a smile appeared on her face, and she said coquettishly, "Your Highness, we are outside."

"The more land we cultivate, the better the crops will grow; maybe this time we'll have some."

"I'm worried that Your Highness is working too hard," Princess Shen said, biting her lip in bed.

"What's so hard about it? I have inexhaustible energy."

Princess Shen stopped talking and shyly cooperated with him.

"Why don't you praise me? Your husband is amazing," Prince Shen said when he saw that Princess Shen was silent.

"Your Highness~"

Xiao Zhan sat on a chair in the main room and dozed off for a while.

It was already broad daylight, but Jiang Wei showed no signs of waking up.

The dewdrop emerged from inside, heading to the kitchen to begin preparing breakfast.

When she finally reached the kitchen, she discovered that someone was already there.

When Xiao Mizi saw that it was her, she smiled and said, "Miss Dewdrop is here. Has your young lady woken up? I'll have them prepare hot water right away, and then I'll bring her breakfast after she's washed up."

"My daughter hasn't woken up yet." Dewdrop waved her hand hastily, feeling embarrassed to ask for help. "I can do it myself."

“If we can send the young lady, then all of us will be useless!” Xiao Mizi laughed. “The young lady should have some breakfast first. Once she’s full, she can take better care of Miss Jiang when she wakes up.”

Xiaomizi served Luzhu a bowl of chicken soup porridge that Jiang Wei and the others had eaten last night, which also contained shredded venison.

The aroma is wonderful...

The dewdrop took a bite and exclaimed, "Delicious! So good! So delicious! So rare!"

She finished her bowl before belatedly realizing what was going on, and looked up at Xiaomizi, "Wasn't this prepared for the masters and the others?"

Xiaomi smiled at Luzhu, "These are all leftovers from last night. Let's cook them together and stir them in."

Xiaomizi pointed to the side, "That's the breakfast that the War King just prepared: shredded chicken soup dumplings, deer blood porridge, and stir-fried mushrooms. The masters' breakfast is quite sumptuous."

With a longing look on her face, Dewdrop glanced at the bowl in her hand and said somewhat shyly, "Can I have another bowl of porridge?"

"Of course," Xiaomizi said decisively, and then went to get the bowl of dew. She was embarrassed to ask someone to serve her, since she wasn't familiar with them.

Dewdrop quickly stood up, "I can do it myself."

Xiaomizi smiled and stepped aside, letting her serve herself: "There's plenty, Miss Dewdrop, eat more."

The porridge was so delicious that she couldn't help but eat a little more than usual.

The sky was bright.

The Prince Shen and his wife were so tired that they could hardly get up, and the Princess Shen nestled in the Prince Shen's arms.

She struggled to get up; if she got up any later, everyone else would be waiting for them!

She was sore all over, probably from exhaustion. She was too tired, and getting out of bed was difficult for her.

Prince Shen hugged her tighter, "Sleep a little longer, let them wait."

"Isn't that a bad idea? Shall we get up and go back to sleep for a while?" Princess Shen said.

Prince Shen didn't take it to heart, "What's wrong with that? I'm his imperial uncle."

Princess Shen had no choice but to lie down with him. She had already woken up and could no longer fall asleep.

She lay in Prince Shen's arms, touching his face and chest, her warm breath brushing against his neck. Her body felt numb from lying there, and she wanted to move.

Suddenly Prince Shen laughed, "So early in the morning, the Princess Consort doesn't want me to have any peace and quiet."

Prince Shen grabbed Princess Shen's waist and placed her on his lap. "Lie down properly. If you move again, I won't let you off the hook."

Princess Consort Shen understood the hidden meaning in Prince Shen's words and said coquettishly, "Your Highness~"

But she really didn't dare to move. Princess Shen leaned against him, their breathing rising and falling.

"Your Highness, you haven't seen how amazing your husband is this morning!"

With a quick turn, Prince Shen found Princess Shen beneath him. "Your husband is in high spirits right now."

Xiao Zhan sat in a chair with his eyes closed, trying to rest, but he could hear the sounds coming from Jiang Wei's room.

As soon as she woke up, he went to bring her breakfast.

A ray of sunlight shone through the window paper onto Jiang Wei's face, and she raised her hand to her eyes.

She turned over, wanting to go back to sleep, when Dewdrop came in carrying hot water. "Miss, you're awake!"

She placed the water on the table beside the bed and saw that Jiang Wei did not move.

She whispered in Jiang Wei's ear, "Miss, is your head hurting so much that you can't get up? General Xiao has made you some drunken soup. Why don't you drink a bowl first and then lie down for a bit?"
