Chapter 4: Is it really our regimental commander's wife who has arrived?
"Hey lady, where are you going?" Yang Zhengtu asked Jiang Ning with a smile.
The girl's eyes were like magic; his heart would pound whenever she looked at him.
Only the 'reincarnated Tang Sanzang' beside him has absolutely no interest in women.
Jiang Ning realized that he must have taken a liking to her, and said in a calm voice, "I'm going to the capital to find my husband."
Yang Zhengtu pursed his lips. "Huh? You got married?"
Jiang Ning nodded. "Yes, he's serving in the military in the capital. We've been married for three years, and I've never seen him."
Yang Zhengtu scratched his head. "Three years? Soldiers usually get annual leave to visit their families. This shouldn't be the case. Tell me your name. I'm also from the Capital Military Region. I might even know your husband."
"Yang Zhengtu." Shen Mo gave Yang Zhengtu a cold look.
Yang Zhengtu then realized that there were some things he couldn't say.
Jiang Ning didn't plan to tell them Shen Mo's name. What if they knew she was there to get a divorce and prevented her from finding Shen Mo?
Jiang Ning smiled sweetly, "Thank you for your kindness. I will go to the military base to find him myself, but I don't know how to get there."
Shen Mo said, "When you arrive at the Capital Station, go to the Capital Railway Police. Once they confirm your identity, they will send a car to take you to the military base."
Jiang Ning raised an eyebrow. "Thank you."
She didn't understand this era very well, and once she arrived in the capital, she didn't know how many detours she would take.
This man seems cold and heartless, but it seems that's not entirely true.
After the incident on the train, many people realized that Jiang Ning's earlier statement that the human trafficker was her boyfriend was actually an attempt to save herself.
The bravery of the two men sitting opposite her deterred some restless individuals from approaching Jiang Ning.
An older woman sitting next to Jiang Ning gave her a thumbs up, saying, "Young lady, you were really clever just now. This is the first time I've ever seen such a smart and beautiful girl."
Anyone would be happy to be complimented on their beauty, so they would say, "Thank you, ma'am."
The train arrived at the station on the afternoon of the second day.
After sitting on the train for so long, Jiang Ning couldn't take it anymore; her back and waist ached, and the feeling was truly unbearable.
As they approached the parking lot, Jiang Ning took out the last two scallion pancakes from her bag and handed them to the two men opposite her, saying, "Thank you for protecting me all the way."
She was able to sleep soundly last night on the narrow and hard train, thanks in no small part to these two men.
"This...we can't..." Before he could finish speaking, two pancakes were stuffed into Yang Zhengtu's hand.
Before he could refuse, Jiang Ning had already quickly grabbed her bag and gotten off at the station.
Yang Zhengtu scratched his head. As a soldier, he couldn't take food from civilians.
Yang Zhengtu nudged Shen Mo with his elbow, "Brother Shen, what should we do?"
Shen Mo's gaze followed the retreating figure until it disappeared from sight. "Keep it."
"Okay, I'll eat first then, I'm starving." With permission granted, Yang Zhengtu took a bite of the pancake without hesitation.
The mission came in a hurry, and they boarded the train without bringing anything, having already gone hungry for a day.
The two remained seated, waiting for the others to get off the bus first.
After most of the people in the carriage had left, the two got up and got off the train. Yang Zhengtu, eating his second pancake, followed Shen Mo and said, "Brother Shen, I think you need to change your habit of not eating things given by girls. Don't you eat things given by your wife either?"
Yang Zhengtu sighed, "It's a pity you're married. So many women in the art troupe like you. If you weren't married, you could have any of them. That woman from earlier was pretty too. I think she's prettier than Li Fei, who's considered the prettiest woman in the art troupe."
Shen Mo's brows furrowed slightly, his voice carrying a hint of sharpness, "Yang Zhengtu, people aren't objects. You want to go back and double your training?"
Yang Zhengtu felt a chill run down his spine and immediately stood at attention. "Report, I don't want to double the amount."

When Jiang Ning got off the train, she asked the railway police for directions. By the time she found the railway police station, it was almost dark.
She didn't delay the people from getting off work. She asked the police about nearby guesthouses. In this day and age, strangers can't be trusted, so the police weren't worried. The places they recommended were naturally safer.
It costs two yuan to stay at the guesthouse for one night. Jiang Ning paid the money and quickly washed up.
When she went to sleep, she found a wooden stool and leaned it against the door as a makeshift support. She also placed the cups in the room on the stool so that if someone pushed the door open, the cups would fall and wake her up.
Jiang Ning woke up early the next morning; she was awakened by hunger.
Having traveled through time to the present, she ate half a pancake.
Stepping out of the guesthouse, the fresh air was invigorating, and the sounds of street vendors hawking their wares and soliciting customers could be heard.
Jiang Ning went out and witnessed the everyday life of this era.
A 'ding' sounded from behind, and a voice said, "Comrade, make way."
Jiang Ning moved aside, and a person riding a bicycle whizzed past her on the pedals. Everything was so busy and full of life.
Jiang Ning adapted to all of this and came to a steaming bun shop where the air was thick with steam and aroma.
I bought five fragrant meat buns. I was full after eating three of them. Looking at the two buns left, Jiang Ning felt a little helpless. When people are extremely hungry, they often have the illusion that they can swallow a whole cow.
Wrap the remaining two buns and put them in the bag.
I strolled around the streets to digest my food and experienced the hustle and bustle of this era before heading to the railway police station.
The current form of identification is the household registration booklet. Jiang Ning handed the household registration booklet to the railway police and explained her purpose. Only when she said that she was a family member of a soldier did the police officer look up at her.
The police officer took out a record and wrote down, "Your husband's name."
Jiang Ning, "Shen Mo".
The other party wrote down their name, saying, "We will contact the military. You can wait in the rest area for a while."
Jiang Ning nodded. "Okay."
Two hours later, the sound of a car engine could be heard outside.
Looking up, a military green jeep stopped in front of the railway police station. The driver's side door opened, and a young man in military uniform jumped out, striding into the house with a loud voice, "Is it really our deputy regimental commander's wife?"
Jiang Ning was the only one waiting for someone there. The car outside was clearly a military jeep, and Jiang Ning reasonably suspected that the regimental commander's wife he mentioned was her.
Deputy regimental commander?
Shen Mo is the deputy commander?!
The man's next words confirmed Jiang Ning's guess.
The person who had just registered Jiang Ning pointed out her location, and the man turned to look at her.
When he saw Jiang Ning, his face showed undisguised surprise.
I was surprised that the regimental commander was really married, and even more shocked that the woman who claimed to be the regimental commander's wife was so beautiful!
The man strode up to Jiang Ning, a kind smile spreading across his resolute face. "Hello, may I see your identification?"
