Chapter 49 Accuses "I'm sorry".
Jiang Zhiyao was a little stunned and didn't react for a moment. She looked at the person in front of her without saying anything.
Yan Zhenxi's eyes reddened, and seeing that Jiang Zhiyao remained silent, his voice rose even higher: "How could you do this? You left without a word, leaving behind a letter of divorce, and now you want to leave without a word again?"
"Did you ask for my opinion before you decided to divorce me? Why did you decide on our relationship so unilaterally! Without any warning, this shouldn't happen, Ayao."
"You didn't even tell me beforehand, you didn't even give me a chance to stay, Jiang Zhiyao, you're absolutely wicked." Yan Zhenxi's emotions surged, her words were full of accusation, and her voice trembled at the end.
"Now you want to abandon me and leave. If I hadn't found out, would you have left completely?"
"You said you'd always be good to me, Ayao. You can't go back on your word." As he finished speaking, Yan Zhenxi's voice lowered, and there was even a hint of pleading in his tone, but his eyes remained fixed on Jiang Zhiyao, as if afraid that she would leave if he looked away for even a moment.
What is he saying?
Jiang Zhiyao stared at Yan Zhenxi in front of her, lost in thought.
Her red eyes are so pretty.
Yan Zhenxi's voice gradually rose again: "In short, I will absolutely not let you leave, please don't..."
The sound stopped abruptly. Jiang Zhiyao grabbed Yan Zhenxi's collar with her other hand, which was not being held by him. Yan Zhenxi's body was pulled down a little, and Jiang Zhiyao closed her eyes and kissed him.
Yan Zhenxi was stunned for only a moment, then kissed her back forcefully, no longer holding back, sweeping over her aggressively, as if trying to steal all of Jiang Zhiyao's breath.
As she was about to leave, Yan Zhenxi angrily wanted to bite Jiang Zhiyao, but in the end she only gently rubbed her already swollen and red lips with her teeth.
Yan Zhenxi wrapped her arms tightly around Jiang Zhiyao, buried her head in the crook of her neck, and said in a muffled voice, "...You really hate me, Jiang Zhiyao."
After saying that, he raised his head, looked at Jiang Zhiyao, and said, "Come back to the manor with me."
"No." Jiang Zhiyao turned her head away from Yan Zhenxi's gaze.
"Why?" Yan Zhenxi tightened his arms around Jiang Zhiyao. "Tell me, okay?"
"There has to be a reason, Yao, tell me." Although the words were somewhat forceful, there was a hint of weakness and enticement in the tone.
"You just kissed me, Ayao," Yan Zhenxi stated, recounting what had just happened. "You grabbed my collar and forced me to lean down..."
Before Yan Zhenxi could finish speaking, Jiang Zhiyao quickly covered his mouth, her ears turning red: "Don't say it."
It's all Yan Zhenxi's fault. Jiang Zhiyao had never seen him like this before. His eyes were slightly red, filled with undisguised possessiveness and love, as well as a hint of panic. His words, tinged with accusation, never stopped. Jiang Zhiyao couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by this side of Yan Zhenxi.
"So why?" Yan Zhenxi stared intently at Jiang Zhiyao. "Why did you leave me, Ayao?"
Everything had happened so suddenly. Now that she had calmed down a bit, Jiang Zhiyao realized something was wrong: "How did you know I was here? How do you recognize me?"
"I'll tell you everything later, Ayao, but you have to tell me the reason first." Yan Zhenxi didn't budge. He desperately wanted to know why Ayao wanted to leave him.
Jiang Zhiyao still avoided the topic, lowering her eyes and remaining silent.
They had just fallen onto the bed because of their kiss. Jiang Zhiyao was sitting on the inside of the bed, with Yan Zhenxi's arm around her. Jiang Zhiyao pushed Yan Zhenxi away, trying to get over him and get off the bed.
"No." Yan Zhenxi, who always obeyed her, showed no sign of backing down.
"You like me, Ayao," Yan Zhenxi whispered. "Don't leave, please." Please.
God knows how panicked he was when he heard Jiang Zhiyao was leaving on his way to court.
Yan Zhenxi had a premonition that if Jiang Zhiyao left this time, she would never come back.
Jiang Zhiyao felt a tightness in her chest, perhaps because the space was too cramped, making it difficult for her to breathe.
When facing Yan Zhenxi, she always tends to surrender first.
"You know perfectly well why." Jiang Zhiyao's voice trembled slightly.
Like a dammed flood finally opening a small gap, Jiang Zhiyao quickly continued, "Because I like you, I really like you."
“I can’t accept your distance from me. I couldn’t even accept the time before I left the manor.”
"The thought that you might fall in love with someone else in the future makes me feel terrible." Jiang Zhiyao began to sob.
"And you know how much I like you, but—" Jiang Zhiyao choked up, paused for a moment, and continued, "but you know everything, yet you haven't shown any reaction. I don't know if you like me or not; you've never made me feel it clearly."
“I am very uneasy, especially after you became the prime minister. I have neither your clear love nor a distinguished family background. Even this marriage was…” Jiang Zhiyao closed her eyes and choked up, “all because of my selfishness.”
When Jiang Zhiyao uttered the last word, she felt both relieved and desperate.
Jiang Zhiyao felt Yan Zhenxi's arms slowly loosening around her. She bit her lower lip, trying hard not to let her tears fall.
"I'm sorry," Yan Zhenxi said in a hoarse voice. He cupped Jiang Zhiyao's face in his hands, moved closer, and his tone was full of guilt and heartache.
He's become too arrogant because he's been spoiled.
After learning that Jiang Zhiyao liked him, he always tried to prove her love in various ways, but he ignored Jiang Zhiyao's feelings.
Because he sensed Jiang Zhiyao's intense and sincere affection, he became arrogant and never took the initiative to express his own love.
He was always foolish and self-righteous, secretly pleased with Jiang Zhiyao's affection for him, and even after Jiang Zhiyao left the mansion, he still relied on this affection to avoid taking the initiative to find her.
It was he who made Jiang Zhiyao toss and turn at night, constantly guessing; it was he who made Jiang Zhiyao so uneasy.
Yan Zhenxi began to speak very seriously: "I love you, Ayao."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Zhiyao opened her eyes in surprise, looking at Yan Zhenxi in front of her with teary eyes.
"I love you." After saying that, Yan Zhenxi gently kissed Jiang Zhiyao's eyes and wiped away her tears.
"I don't know when it started, but I just can't take my eyes off you anymore." Yan Zhenxi then kissed a spot just below Jiang Zhiyao's eyes.
"I want to know what you do every day, and I want to be with you all the time. Even if we do nothing, just being with you will make me happy." Yan Zhenxi kissed Jiang Zhiyao's slightly red nose.
"I love the way you look when you're attracted to me, the way you kiss me, the way you worry about me. Just your presence makes me fall in love." Yan Zhenxi kissed Jiang Zhiyao's lips briefly before pulling away.
"It was my fault before. I made Ayao feel uneasy."
Jiang Zhiyao was captivated by the sweet words and comforting gestures, and even stopped sobbing.
"Ayao, can you tell me why you said at the beginning that you felt I was distancing myself from you?" Yan Zhenxi held Jiang Zhiyao's shoulder and asked softly.
For some reason, hearing Yan Zhenxi's gentle tone made Jiang Zhiyao feel even more aggrieved, and tears started falling again: "...You come back very late every day, but after I left, you always came back to the manor before lunch. Aren't you avoiding me?"
"And there was this one time I tried to hold your hand, but you avoided me," Jiang Zhiyao said, sobbing as she accused him.
Yan Zhenxi understood, but also felt a bit annoyed with herself: "No, Ayao."
"Actually, my eyes have always been fine." Yan Zhenxi disregarded the words he had prepared beforehand and gently wiped away Jiang Zhiyao's tears with his fingers. "Saying I was blind was just to deceive others and make things easier."
Jiang Zhiyao's eyes widened slightly as she looked at Yan Zhenxi, somewhat unable to believe what she had just heard.
"I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner. It was because of my own selfish reasons. I like seeing you so natural in front of me, I..."
Jiang Zhiyao remembered something, and her cheeks flushed: "Okay, I understand, you don't need to continue."
Then wouldn't everything she did in front of Yan Zhenxi, which she had taken advantage of because he couldn't see, have been seen by him? Jiang Zhiyao didn't even dare to think about what she had done.
Seeing Jiang Zhiyao's shy expression, Yan Zhenxi chuckled and said, "Don't be shy, Ayao is very cute."
"Stop talking!" Jiang Zhiyao covered Yan Zhenxi's mouth with her hand in shame and indignation.
"Okay," Yan Zhenxi replied with a smile in a muffled voice.
Yan Zhenxi had no choice but to skip over how he found Jiang Zhiyao adorable in front of him and continued, "The reason I stayed in the palace for so long was because I was making rag dolls."
"A rag doll?" Jiang Zhiyao wondered if she had misheard.
"I want to give you an apology as a token of my remorse for hiding this from you because of my eye problem. I noticed that you really like that rag doll, so I wanted to make one just like it for you."
"Then the reason I dodged that time was probably because I had needle marks on my hand and was afraid you would find out beforehand," Yan Zhenxi said frankly.
"But I didn't expect it to backfire."
He suddenly became a little nervous: "Ayao, I forgot to bring that rag doll from the manor. Please don't forget about the eyes, okay?"
When Jiang Zhiyao learned about this, she wasn't angry at all; she just felt relieved.
I'm so glad he never actually went blind, and I'm also glad that because of that, I was able to marry him by some twist of fate.
Jiang Zhiyao could understand Yan Zhenxi's initial concealment of his eyes, since it was for the purpose of planning something, and originally not many people knew about it.
As for the fact that they were still hiding it later, Jiang Zhiyao was initially a little annoyed, but after hearing Yan Zhenxi's explanation, she could barely accept it. She just felt a little embarrassed and annoyed. In addition, with Yan Zhenxi mentioning the rag doll, her last bit of lingering resentment completely dissipated.
"I'm not angry." Jiang Zhiyao gently shook her head.
"Thank you, Ayao." Yan Zhenxi's brows relaxed, and she felt a little relieved. She then pressed her advantage and said, "Ayao, now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, if Ayao is still not satisfied, you can punish me as you see fit when we get back. Now, come back to the manor with me, okay?"
After saying that, Yan Zhenxi stood up from the bed and reached out his hand to Jiang Zhiyao.
Jiang Zhiyao instinctively wanted to hold it, but remembered something as soon as she touched it, and pulled back.
She felt her throat was dry and spoke with difficulty, "No, Zhenxi, we're not suitable for each other."
You have no idea how strong my desire to possess you is.
