Just as he was teaching Da Bao and Xiao Bao which wild vegetables were edible and which were not, a commotion suddenly came from the mountains.
"A fight broke out?" The man who was digging for wild vegetables next to Xie Zhuo stood up and craned his neck to look inside.
"Some people tried to go deeper into the area, but they were stopped and started arguing," someone standing a little further inside explained the situation.
"What's wrong with Wang Chao? He brought so many people into the mountains. Where did he meet these scoundrels? They're so hot-tempered!" the man said.
Upon hearing Wang Chao's name, Xie Zhuo glanced inside again.
While everyone around me went inside to watch the excitement, I took my two children home.
"Third Uncle, are people arguing?" Da Bao asked.
“Probably,” Xie Zhuo said.
“Xiao Bao and his brother never argue,” Xiao Bao said.
"That's why I say you two are so well-behaved," Xie Zhuo patted their heads.
After the two little ones fell asleep that night, Xie Zhuo told Xu Yan about his encounter with Wang Chao.
"You mean, they went into the mountains to dig for wild ginseng?" Xu Yan asked, watching Xie Zhuo wipe the water from his head with a towel.
He just took a cold shower and wasn't wearing a shirt; water was dripping from his hair onto his body.
She didn't know if it was because of the glare from the candle flame, but her gaze kept following the small drop of water downwards.
As his gaze swept over Xie Zhuo's well-defined and toned abs, and then continued downwards, Xie Zhuo suddenly stopped speaking.
If you listen carefully, you can hear that her breathing is a bit heavy.
Xu Yan looked up at him.
She took a shower not long after dinner. The summer air was dry, and her hair was already dry. She didn't continue braiding it and let it fall over her shoulders, making her face look so small that it seemed like it could be covered by a single hand.
Thinking this, Xie Zhuo slowly raised his hand, covering her eyes while gently pressing it against the corner of her lips.
Then he let go.
After a brief period of darkness, light returned, and Xu Yan blinked.
Xie Zhuo's lips moved upwards, touched the side of her nose, and then fell on the corner of her eye.
Xu Yan thought this man was really too good at it.
When their lips met again, Xie Zhuo suddenly tightened his arms around her.
Their warm bodies pressed together instantly.
Xie Zhuo's body was very hot, and Xu Yan felt that she had no other place to go except to hook her arms around his neck.
Even though we've kissed many times, my brain still goes completely blank at times like this, as if I'm lacking oxygen.
I have no recollection of how I got onto Xie Zhuo's lap.
All she could think about was him calling her "baby" in his hoarse voice.
The person opposite him still had a refreshing fragrance, but now it was mixed with some moisture, swirling around and enveloping Xu Yan.
