Chapter 117 Daily Life

"Hmm?" Xie Zhuo was busy scooping out the vegetables. Afraid of burning him, he lifted his leg and moved it a little to the side.

Xiao Bao was stunned for a moment, and then, the instant his feet left the ground, he tightly hugged Xie Zhuo's leg.

After being placed on the other side, she forgot what she was going to say and smiled, asking Xie Zhuo to do it again.

They ate dinner early tonight. Xu Yan and Xie Zhu had just finished cleaning up the kitchen when Li Aihua came over with a piece of paper.

"Sister-in-law," Xu Yan greeted her as she went out.

"Yes," Li Aihua responded, and before Xu Yan could call out, she plopped down on a stool under the tree.

“Little Xu, the educated youth,” Li Aihua said.

“Just call me Xu Yan, sister-in-law,” Xu Yan said, sitting down. “We’re neighbors, don’t be so formal.”

Li Aihua smiled, then called out to Xu Yan. She then laid a piece of paper, which she didn't know was torn from some book, in front of Xu Yan, and placed another piece of paper that she had already cut on top of it.

Xu Yan flipped it over and over, but still couldn't figure it out. He looked up at Li Aihua and asked, "Sister-in-law, what kind of shoe pattern is this?"

She asked the question quite skillfully, without directly asking which part it was about—the shoes.

“The uppers of the cotton shoes,” Li Aihua said, “I’ll take advantage of these few days of free time to fix them. My husband wears out shoes quickly. The new cotton shoes he made two years ago had their uppers torn when I saw them yesterday, so I’m planning to replace them.”

Changing the shoe upper...

Xu Yan glanced at Xie Zhuo's feet; Xie Zhuo was also wearing cloth shoes.

She had never noticed before today who made Xie Zhuo's cloth shoes, which had several large patches on them.

Just as Xie Zhuo was about to take Da Bao and Xiao Bao out for a walk, he noticed Xu Yan staring at his feet. He glanced down at them as well, but couldn't see anything unusual.

Xu Yan, on the other hand, was wearing sandals today, her rounded toes sticking out...

Soon, Xie Zhuo looked away and left with the two little ones.
