Chapter 207 Oh, Little Snowman!

I kept grinning all night without stopping.

After the fireworks were set off and the New Year's Eve vigil was over, the family walked back to the courtyard house. Xu Yan was still drunk and clung to Xie Zhuo's back, hugging his neck tightly.

Xu Shu offered to take them home, but Xie Zhu waved his hand. Xu Shu himself was quite drunk, and Xie Zhu was worried that he would have to take care of two drunkards on the way, so he didn't let him come along.

Auntie was getting old, so Chen Lihua let her stay at her home. So the only ones on the way were Xie Zhuo, Xu Yan, and the three kids.

Da Bao and the others had a great time today and ate their fill. They're still full of energy, chasing after Kaixin, running and playing around.

Xu Yan tried to look up for a while, then lowered her head to rub against Xie Zhuo's neck.

The warm breath spraying onto the skin creates a unique sense of intimacy.

Xie Zhuo enjoyed this intimacy. He tilted his head slightly towards Xu Yan, his voice tinged with amusement, "Isn't your amount a little too little?"

"Quantity? What quantity?" Xu Yan mumbled, "I'm not drunk."

Xie Zhuo chuckled.

"Third Uncle," Xiao Bao ran a few steps ahead of Kaixin, then stopped to wait for Xie Zhuo and Xu Yan.

"What's wrong?" Xie Zhu strode over to him in a few steps.

"Nothing much," Xiao Bao looked up at him a few times, then looked at the dazed Xu Yan, "I had too much to do today, and I haven't even wished you and Third Aunt a Happy New Year yet."

“Now, let’s talk about it,” Xie Zhuoteng said, reaching out a hand to pat his head.

"Happy New Year, Uncle and Aunt! May the new year bring you good fortune and all your wishes come true," Xiao Bao said.

"Wow," Xie Zhuo said, a little surprised, "You know so many new words?"

“This isn’t new, everyone says it during the New Year,” Da Bao and Lin Dong stopped running. Lin Dong chimed in after hearing Xie Zhuo’s words.

“Hey,” Xie Zhuo raised an eyebrow, “then name a few new ones.”

"Happy New Year, Third Uncle and Third Aunt! This year is the Year of the Horse, so I wish you both the spirit of a dragon and a horse, and all your successes..." Lin Dong had only said two words when he paused, cleared his throat, and continued, "Happy New Year, Third Uncle and Third Aunt! This year is the Year of the Horse, so I wish you both the spirit of a dragon and a horse, and all your successes..."

"Alright, stop holding back," Da Bao squeezed next to Xie Zhuo while hugging Kaixin. "We're almost home. In the new year, I hope our family can be as happy and joyful as last year."

The puppy nestled in his arms barked the moment it heard its name.

Although the road wasn't very far, it was already past 2 a.m. when we got home. The three kids were already exhausted, so they changed their clothes and went to bed without even washing their faces.

Xie Zhuo also felt it was too late, and if they continued to make a fuss, it would be dawn soon, but Xu Yan refused to cooperate and insisted on taking a shower before going to sleep.

Xie Zhuo was worried that she would catch a cold from all the fuss, so he heated up the coal stove in the room, then filled a basin with hot water and brought a towel to wipe her face and body.

This process is not easy either.

Xie Zhuo never expected that Xu Yan, who was usually well-behaved, would be like this after getting drunk. He tried his best to wipe her face as quickly as possible, but he still couldn't keep an eye on her and Xu Yan slipped out.

She insisted that she was a snowman and needed to stay outside to prevent herself from melting.

"Little Snowman stays at home in winter," Xie Zhuo rambled on. "He only goes out in summer. You're mistaken."

Xu Yan stared at him.

Xie Zhuo wasn't ashamed at all. He took off her clothes and continued to wipe her with a towel while making up stories. "Really, didn't you know you've been a snowman for so long? It's cold now. You'll catch a cold if you go outside for even a short while. It's awful when you catch a cold. You'll have to take medicine and get injections."

Upon hearing the words "injection," Xu Yan's urge to run away subsided.

She lay obediently while Xie Zhuo helped her wash.

Xie Zhuo breathed a sigh of relief, but the relief was short-lived. Xu Yan suddenly sat up in a panic on the kang (a heated brick bed), quickly covering himself with his hands.

Xie Zhuo was already unsettled. His wife was lying right in front of him, and he couldn't do anything about it. Now, with Xu Yan's actions that seemed both frightened and affectionate, he almost instantly became aroused.

"What's wrong?" Xie Zhuo was holding a towel and wanted to move forward, but before he could touch Xu Yan, she dodged him.

Xu Yan's nose turned red, and her eyes welled up with tears.

After a long while, Xie Zhuo finally heard her voice.

She said, "Oh no, oh no, I think I'm really going to melt."

It melted?

Xie Zhuo realized that the snowman was melting.

His gaze shifted downwards slightly.

Then I saw that the snowman seemed to have melted a little from being wiped with the towel.

There were some water stains on the sheets.
