The school's disciplinary notice was posted on the bulletin board at the school gate half a month later.
According to Xie Zhuo's professor, the school originally only intended to deal with the person who wrote the whistleblower letter, but after investigating, they found out that the person who wrote the anonymous whistleblower letter was Nie Jianguo's niece.
Nie Jianguo's niece, Nie Hongning, did not get in through her own merit; she was admitted by taking the place of a girl from a mountainous area.
Coincidentally, the teacher who investigated the matter happened to be a distant relative of the girl, and the story of the girl from the mountainous area had reached his ears over the past few months.
Finally, after a thorough investigation, he uncovered a series of subsequent events.
When the principal found out, he was furious. He called Nie Jianguo over and gave him a severe dressing-down. In the end, he reported the matter directly to the Education Bureau and canceled Nie Hongning's admission quota.
Xie Zhuo stood on the bulletin board for a long time, feeling like he had heard the name somewhere before, but he couldn't quite place it.
Xu Yan knew which one Nie Hongning was, since the two were in the same class. Apart from the conflict in the dormitory on the first day, Nie Hongning had tried to provoke her at other times, but they were all minor squabbles and didn't amount to much.
Unexpectedly, it turned out that what happened last time was actually a rumor she spread.
This incident has also had a significant impact on other schools. The Education Bureau issued a document ordering all schools to thoroughly investigate whether there are any other cases of impersonation in school admissions.
I was surprised to find out so many cases when I checked.
Xu Yan has never paid much attention to things outside of himself, and after listening to a few words, he buried himself in his book again.
In her previous life, she studied science and had little interest in writing. Unexpectedly, she has come to love literature and writing in this second life.
When she picked up her pen and began writing her first novel, the weather had already turned cold.
Compared to the rural commune primary schools, the schools in City B were not only free from drafts and snow, but also had warm coal stoves.
When Da Bao and his friends first started school, their great-aunt had to take them. Now they can go to school on their own.
Xu Yan watched the three of them excitedly running to school with their backpacks in the morning and excitedly running home in the afternoon, and still couldn't figure out whether they liked going to school or not.
“I like school, and I also like home,” Da Bao said, holding the plastic toy gun that Chen Lihua had bought for him. “I can learn a lot of knowledge at school, but at home I have my third uncle, third aunt, and concubine.”
"So, what's your favorite place?" Xu Yan put down her pen and teased him on purpose.
“I like them both,” Da Bao said.
"Do we really have to choose one?" Xu Yan asked.
Da Bao frowned. "Then it must be home."
After saying that, he even gave me a look that said, "You're just asking a question you already know the answer to."
Xu Yan smiled and pulled her close, ruffling her hair.
This year's Spring Festival was more lively than in previous years.
Just after the 25th day of the twelfth lunar month, Chen Lihua began taking her three children and daughter to the department store every day to buy all kinds of New Year's goods and food.
By New Year's Eve, the kitchen was almost full of all the New Year's goods we had prepared.
Xu Yan went to get a bowl for Xu Cangsong to put the peeled garlic in, but when she got inside, there was nowhere to put her feet. After finally getting the bowl, she stepped on the bag of peanuts that Chen Lihua had bought and was slapped on the arm by Chen Lihua.
“You and your father are just useless people in this family,” Chen Lihua said with great disgust. “You can’t even peel a garlic properly, and you just stomp on peanuts with a bowl.”
Xie Zhuo stood to one side, making dumplings while smiling.
Xu Yan glared at him, pouting.
Xie Zhuo, who was innocently implicated: "..."
"Mom, Yan Yan's mixed fried rice is especially delicious," Xie Zhuo said to Chen Lihua with a smile. "When you have time, I'll have her make it for you."
Chen Lihua was truly satisfied with Xie Zhuo.
They treated him the best in the family; even their own son, Xu Shu, had to rank behind Xie Zhuo.
Hearing him say that, she glanced at Xu Yan again and said, "Just keep spoiling her."
There were eleven people, young and old, having dinner together that night. The small living room was almost packed with people, and every word they uttered created a chaotic yet lively atmosphere.
Xu Yan had never celebrated the New Year like this before. Overwhelmed with excitement, he picked up the wrong cup and drank all the liquor in Xie Zhuo's cup.
The burning sensation went straight from my throat to my stomach.
Xu Yan frowned slightly, looking uncomfortable.
Xie Zhuo quickly poured her a glass of warm water. After taking a sip to test the temperature, he went to the kitchen to find some honey and added a little to it.
"Oh my, my brother-in-law is so considerate," Yan Dan said, watching Xie Zhuo running back and forth.
“Here, drink this wine, and I’ll make you some honey water,” Xu Shu said.
Yan Dan rolled her eyes at him.
"Can't you ever be serious for once?" Chen Lihua rolled her eyes at Xu Shu when she heard his words, and rubbed Xu Yan's back with her hand. "Are you still uncomfortable?"
Xu Yan's throat felt sore from the spiciness, and her face felt a little hot.
"Is this the first time you've drunk so much?" Auntie asked.
Xu Yan nodded.
“I was just joking,” Xu Shu said. “Look at your attitude.”
“Normal attitude,” Xu Cangsong said. “I should have named you Xu Mo from the beginning. You’re always talking and saying things that are never pleasant to hear.”
Xu Shu: "..."
Xu Yan finished drinking a full cup of honey water. She still felt a little hot, but the burning sensation was finally gone.
