Chapter 45 Has Peter Parker Gone Mad?

But at that moment, Gerr's cell phone rang. Gerr picked it up and saw that it was Director Nick's number.

Gel glanced at Banner and Betty, then frowned slightly at his phone—Nick still hadn't given up on getting information about the Hulk and Abomination from him.

Gel instinctively assumed that Nick was going to ask him about the Hulk and the Abomination.

"Gale, I need to ask you for a favor. It's not about the Hulk. I'd like you to come to S.H.I.E.L.D. first," Nick said to Gale in a very serious tone over the phone.

When Gerald heard his words, a look of surprise appeared on his face—what else could he need to talk to him about besides the Hulk?

After thinking it over, Ger decided to go there anyway.

"Wanda, Banner, Betty, you guys prepare dinner yourselves. Director Nick has something to discuss and needs me to go over there," Gel said, turning to the three of them.

Wanda looked at Gel with some concern, but nodded nonetheless.

The next moment, Gel opened a portal to S.H.I.E.L.D., and at that moment Natasha opened the door to Nick's office and walked in.

Seeing the serious expressions on Natasha and Nick's faces, Ger felt a sinking feeling in his heart.

This seems to be a tricky situation.

“Alexander Pierce, the Minister of the World Security Council and former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., you should have seen him on TV. Tonight, his residence was bombed by ten missiles.” Nick spoke softly, yet delivered this shocking news to Gel.

Gel's pupils contracted slightly, then he quickly suppressed his question and asked Nick, "Who did it?"

Meanwhile, a storm was brewing in Gol's mind: he had just been reminded of Pierce's alleged involvement with Hydra by the Hulk's blood incident the previous night. And now, Pierce's residence had been bombed in such a short time? Who could have acted so quickly?

Subconsciously, Gert thought of Peter, since he had only told Peter about this, but Gert quickly dismissed his guess, because based on his understanding of Peter, Peter was never the kind of person to act rashly.

Moreover, it was a missile that was launched, which Peter could not possibly have had the authority to do.

Although Ger quickly controlled his facial expression, Natasha still glanced at him.

Nick put the papers back on his desk and looked at Gel: "The instructions came from Pierce himself, and Pierce is completely unreachable now."

Gel frowned and looked at Nick, knowing Nick would continue.

“This is a coordinate system for his residence. Let’s talk over there.” Nick handed the phone to Gel. “By the way, we need you to protect us. Right now, this coordinate system might be engulfed in flames from explosions.”

“Move closer to me,” Ger said to Nick and Natasha, glancing at his phone.

After the two approached, Ger waved his hand towards them, and instantly, a dense cloud of chaotic energy enveloped them. Then, Ger stretched out his hand, and as gray energy rapidly gathered, a spatial portal slowly opened.

"Sizzle!"

The portal opened only slightly, and a wave of heat, accompanied by flames, surged out. Ger raised his right hand, quickly keeping the flames outside the portal, and then, as the portal fully opened, he led Natasha and Nick inside.

At this moment, they were enveloped in flames, and as far as the eye could see, there was nothing but overwhelming fire.

Through the flames, Nick could only see the dilapidated frame of the house.

Geer swung his right arm heavily toward the ground, and the three of them shot into the sky like shooting stars, then hovered in mid-air.

This was the first time Nick had ever flown so fast in the air without any equipment. When he suddenly stopped in mid-air, he couldn't help but stagger.

Quickly regaining his footing, Nick looked to the distance beside him. Half the sky was now dyed red by flames, and billowing black smoke rose from the flames, surging into the sky.

"Gale, go check the situation down there," Nick said to Gall with a silent sigh.

Gel closed his eyes and slowly moved his fingers. Streams of chaotic energy quickly flowed through the flames, soon completing the sensing of the entire villa.

Then, Ger slightly raised his head, and the next moment several burning white bones flew out of the flames and hovered below them. Then Ger once again controlled the chaos magic to surround the white bones, and soon, all the flames on the white bones were extinguished.

“Although the bones inside were blown to pieces, I still managed to retrieve all the bones I could find. If my estimate is correct, there are a total of fourteen skeletons inside. As for whether Pierce’s remains are among them, I don’t know,” Ger said, frowning slightly.

Director Nick looked down at the inferno below, knowing it was impossible to find any more clues, so he had Gel open the portal back to his office.

But what Ger didn't know was that a few kilometers away from the three of them, Peter, who had already fallen into a coma, was floating on the river.

The black "reptiles" that had been hiding behind him slowly covered his body again, and soon, they reformed the black spider suit.

At the same time, Peter's burns, fractures, and other injuries healed rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"Ha!"

Peter suddenly opened his eyes, coughed twice, and when he realized he was floating on the water, he immediately swam toward the riverbank.

"I remember I had injuries, how come they're all gone?" Peter murmured as he swam, but quickly dismissed the thought.
