Chapter 143 The End of Asgard (shuhaige.net)

The people of Asgard surged toward the mothership, but they couldn't help looking back at the Asgardian sky and land, tears welling in their eyes. After all, this was the land where their ancestors had lived for generations, their beloved Asgard. Were they destined to leave their homeland?

In an instant, countless people fled while wailing and crying. The soldiers on the spaceship motherships maintained order, but they couldn't help but shed tears as well.

"Tremble before me, Asgard."

Surtur's voice, like that of hell, was filled with terrifying intimidation. He wielded a flaming sword tens of thousands of meters long, slashing fiercely across the ground of Asgard. The towering buildings before him were like insignificant toys; wherever the flaming sword passed, buildings shattered completely, and the ground burst into flames.

"How terrifying." Even with Wanda's current abilities, she felt helpless when sensing the energy emanating from Surtur. She stared blankly at Surtur, unsure whether to approach him, or even if she did, what could she possibly do?

With the help of Vision, Thor slowly stood up. When he saw the raging flames surrounding Surtur, his eyes were filled with sorrow—the power was almost unmatched, and he couldn't even muster the thought of resisting.

"Perhaps this is the end of Asgard?" Thor smiled bitterly, holding Vision in one hand and Wanda in the other, glancing at the distant mothership, and about to lead the two away.

Wanda looked at Hela, who had just been thrown to another direction, and then looked up at Surtur, the fire giant in the sky. All the worry and doubt in her eyes disappeared, replaced by a calm determination.

“My brother once told me that if I had to resort to him, I must do so.” Wanda’s voice carried a strange magic that instantly calmed Thor’s heart.

Although Thor knew that with Ger's current abilities, even if Ger came, he would not be a match for Surtur, Thor inexplicably had confidence in Ger, a confidence that Ger's long-standing victories had instilled in everyone.

Wanda slightly raised her hands, and candles appeared out of thin air around her, immediately igniting. With a flick of her wrists, runes began to swirl around her. Moments later, all the candles burned out, and the runes seemed to vanish into some unknown space.

This is a unique method of communication between Wanda and Gel. Wanda doesn't know if Gel can receive the message given the great distance, but she believes in the magic of chaos.

“Let’s go. If my brother can get here in time, he might still be able to save Asgard. But if he can’t, this might truly be the end of Asgard.” Wanda opened a portal and pulled Vision and Thor inside. Before leaving, however, Wanda glanced at Hela with pity—unlike them, Hela’s energy and life were inextricably linked to Asgard. If Asgard were destroyed, Hela would undoubtedly face death. Therefore, Hela could not escape, nor could she.

At this moment, Hela raised her head high, looking at the fire giant in the distance, a hysterical madness flashing in her eyes. She completely ignored Wanda, Vision, and Thor, who were not far away.

"go!"

Hela swung her hand heavily at the ground, and then one after another, swords thousands of meters long stabbed towards the fire giant. Hela stood on a sword nearly ten thousand meters long and charged towards the fire giant.

Green longswords were plunged into the fire giant's body, inflicting endless pain, but without harming his very essence. The fire giant roared, raised his flaming greatsword high, and then thrust it towards the green longsword beneath Hela.

Compared to the massive, fiery sword that stretched for tens of thousands of meters, Hela's green longsword seemed like a tiny toy. Hela's expression changed drastically as she stared at the sky-covering, flaming sword descending from the heavens, momentarily at a loss for how to resist.

"Is this... the end of Asgard?"

Inside the mothership, Wanda and Thor looked at the distant scene with a sense of sorrow, when suddenly a familiar voice reached their ears.

"elder brother!"

Wanda's eyes lit up, and she turned to look to the side. Sure enough, there stood the familiar figure of Ger. Joy quickly filled Wanda's face, and she couldn't help but throw herself at Ger, hugging him tightly.

"You've had a tough time," Gel said, patting Wanda on the back with some concern. Although Vision and Thor seemed fine now, his abilities allowed him to clearly see the unhealed wounds on their bodies. Wanda's depletion of chaos magic, in particular, spoke volumes about the intensity of the battle.

Sorry, I meant to schedule this post, but I accidentally pressed "post directly" instead. This chapter will replace the one for tomorrow morning. I'll update another chapter tomorrow, but I'm not sure what time it will be.
