Chapter 80 Fighting Loki the Destroyer Alone
"This mortal boy is probably going to die in vain," Volstagg said to Fandall beside him, his face contorted in pain as he lay on the ground.
The Ancient Winter Coffin is a divine artifact of the Frost Giants, its power far exceeding what a Midgard mage could withstand. Those present could all feel the astonishing chill emanating from it.
Some of them were even weak from their injuries and had to curl up to ward off the cold.
“Being able to die with us is enough to do this kid a favor,” Fandral coughed and said.
In their sight, the chill of the ancient winter coffin had almost engulfed Gale, and the Destroyer had broken free from the spear's restraints and stood up again, walking towards Thor's direction!
In the distance, Jane was struggling to break free from Daisy and Eric's grasp, trying to run towards Thor.
“If even Ger can go to save Thor, why can’t I? I must go and be with Thor.” Jane’s face was full of pain. She wanted to go, but she couldn’t break free from Daisy and Eric’s hands.
Daisy knew that Jane had completely lost her mind at this point. There was no point in trying to persuade her now; Daisy could only offer Jane a sliver of hope: "Didn't Thor say that Gol is also a sorcerer? Since he's gone there now, he must have a way to deal with Loki. Maybe he can even save Thor."
Even as she said this, Daisy herself didn't believe her own words at all.
That's a god from mythology. How could Geer, an earthly magician, possibly deal with him?
With that thought in mind, Daisy pulled Jane along while turning her gaze toward the battlefield.
On the battlefield, as Geer watched the rapidly crumbling magical shield around him, he couldn't help but exclaim in horror, "What terrifying cold!"
Although these outer defensive shields were casually arranged and their main function was only to block senses, they still possessed considerable defensive power with the support of his chaotic magic!
The surrounding frost quickly accumulated, forming a circular ice ball on the outside of Geer's defensive shield. The extreme cold seemed to freeze one's consciousness, and everything in sight was a pure white expanse.
Gel quietly extended his chaotic energy from the defensive shield. The moment the chaotic energy touched the frost, Gel's body trembled slightly, and a hint of joy appeared on his face—this was the first time he had encountered an alien energy source other than the Infinity Stones. Sure enough, his chaotic energy could also absorb the energy from the ancient winter coffin.
Without hesitation, he dispersed the hidden energy magic in his palm and quickly received a series of hand seals. The surrounding spatial energy rushed towards this place in a frenzy.
"So close yet worlds apart, now revealed!"
With a soft shout, Gerr slashed outwards, instantly filling the surrounding area with spatial energy. Using the space in front of Gerr and Thor as the dividing point, the energy began to expand rapidly.
Everything around them remained the same, except for the space between Gale, Thor, Loki, and the Destroyer.
The chilling aura emanating from the forest was clearly extending forward, yet it was getting further and further away from Ger and Thor, who were actually right where they were.
Immediately afterward, out of the corner of his eye, Gerr glanced at Thor, and with a thought, Thor, who was lying on the ground, instantly flew up and flew behind Gerr.
"Gulp." The three warriors of Asgard, watching the scene from afar, swallowed hard, then exchanged a glance, each seeing the shock in the other's eyes. "This is... spatial magic?"
As warriors of Asgard, they naturally knew that spatial magic was one of the most difficult to master. And even if they did, it wouldn't be able to slow down the icy chill of the ancient winter coffin!
After all, the icy aura emanating from the ancient winter coffin could even freeze spatial energy!
The fact that Ger's spatial magic could greatly slow down the speed of the icy energy must be supported by extremely abundant magical energy.
"Where did this kid come from?" Fandall's lips twitched slightly as he muttered to himself.
Wasn't Midgard supposed to be a very backward place? How could such a powerful magician suddenly appear? If they were in that situation, they would probably have been frozen into ice blocks long ago.
"Fortunately, this kid is loyal. He's willing to fight to this extent for Thor's body. If we survive, we must treat him to a drink." Volstagg laughed heartily, but then aggravated his wounds and immediately clutched his chest and groaned.
Fandall and Hogan exchanged a glance, both seeing the helplessness on each other's faces. Clearly, they were both frustrated by Vostagg's slowness.
Then, Fandral glanced at Vostagg and said irritably, "Didn't you see the lightning in the sky?"
Volstagg looked up at the sky, paused for a moment, then blinked and asked in confusion, "Why are the clouds suddenly so heavy? It looks like Thor is using Mjolnir at full power."
A moment later, Volstagg finally realized what was happening, a look of disbelief and joy flashing across his face: "Could it be that Thor isn't dead?"
Before Fandral could answer, Vostagg's eyes widened suddenly, and he laughed loudly, "I knew it, Thor wouldn't die so easily."
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The dark clouds in the sky seemed to be drawn in by the icy aura of the ancient winter coffin, growing even thicker, while the incessant lightning flashing through them made the oppressive feeling of the clouds even stronger.
Loki looked at the dark clouds in the sky, his hatred deepening. Because he was holding the ancient winter coffin, his hands had turned iron blue. Even though he couldn't see it, he knew that his entire body had turned iron blue.
