Chapter 110 Wanda Comes to the Door
"What exactly is going on?"
The people of Manhattan, watching the sky return to normal and the superheroes gradually disappear from the sky, felt as if something big had happened.
But they have completely lost their previous memories and can only look them up online.
Are these real?
"Did three nuclear bombs just explode on Manhattan Island?"
"Could this be a special effect?"
"..."
After an initial panic, they finally discovered a fact that left them speechless—they had actually died once.
They checked their watches, then looked at the time online, and found that it was indeed significantly slow. Gradually, they accepted this fact.
Immediately following was gratitude towards Ger, and anger towards certain incompetent high-ranking officials!
"How many years has it been since a nuclear bomb was used to attack humanity?"
"While these superheroes are fighting to save us, you're thinking about launching nuclear missiles?"
"Step down!"
"..."
The outcry from around the world has plunged the Security Council into an unprecedented crisis. This outcry has only resulted in the resignation of a few insignificant individuals, failing to quell public anger and instead fueling it even more intensely.
In particular, all the people on Manhattan Island are now united in launching a march to denounce the relevant personnel of the International Security Council, determined to get a satisfactory answer.
At this point, the outside world had descended into chaos.
Meanwhile, Wanda, Pietro, and their group were keeping watch over Gel in a secret location.
Later, at Natasha's urging, only Wanda, Pietro, Harry, Peter, and Natasha remained by Gol's side.
One day, two days...
Three full days have passed, and there is no sign of Geer waking up. In fact, the chaotic energy within Geer's body has become even more disordered.
"elder brother."
Wanda sat by Ger's bedside, looking at him lying unconscious, and tears streamed down her face again. Was she going to lose her brother once more?
The room was eerily quiet. Pietro, Harry, and Peter, standing nearby, also had bloodshot eyes. They had slept very little over the past three days, wanting only to stay and wait for Ger to wake up.
"squeak."
Suddenly, the silence was broken by the soft sound of a door opening, and Natasha slowly walked in.
"Sister Natasha, how is it?" Wanda slowly wiped away her tears, looked up at Natasha, but at this moment her eyes were filled with suppressed emotions, just waiting for the right moment to explode.
Natasha shook her head, looking into Wanda's eyes: "The Security Council has only put forward a few scapegoats, and the leading members are still hiding behind the scenes. Even though the public opinion outside is already quite terrible, they still have no intention of showing up."
Wanda's lips curled into a mocking smile as she glanced at the unlit television in the room: "Perhaps they're still hiding somewhere, drinking red wine, eating steak, thinking that once this matter blows over, they can continue to be high-ranking officials without a care in the world."
The room fell silent instantly. Pietro, Harry, and Peter's faces darkened simultaneously. Clearly, they all knew that Wanda was right.
“But my brother is still lying here. How can I let them enjoy themselves? I want them to suffer even more torment than I have.” Wanda’s eyes snapped open, the madness in them finally bursting forth. “Sister Natasha, where can I find all their information? Including all their properties, all their families, and everything they own!”
Natasha stared blankly at Wanda, but Wanda just looked back at her firmly.
After a moment, Natasha's expression gradually hardened and turned cold: "All the secret information is in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret archives. Even if it's not there, Director Nick Fury's secret electronic file contains it all. I know the exact address of the secret archives, and we can go there and find all the information without anyone else knowing."
“Didn’t they say Nick had a more complete set? In that case, let’s go directly to him.” Wanda’s face was plastered with an arrogant and cold expression. “Besides, why should we keep it a secret from everyone? On the contrary, I want them to know that I’m coming to them, so that they can welcome my arrival in panic.”
Natasha paused for a moment, then nodded: "Okay!"
Wanda looked at Pietro, and only when she was facing Pietro did her gaze soften slightly: "Pietro, you take care of your brother here for now."
Pietro slowly stood up and nodded solemnly: "Go, and remember, don't let anyone escape."
Wanda nodded, and chaotic energy surged in front of her. Instantly, a spatial portal opened, and Wanda and Natasha stepped inside.
The office of the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. was now filled with noise.
Nick listened to the various reports around him and couldn't help but rub his head—the past three days had been like living in hell, with all sorts of news leaving him utterly exhausted.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but curse the eight congressmen inwardly. They were the ones who made the decision, but now he was the one cleaning up the mess. Unfortunately, he didn't have the authority to punish those eight congressmen; otherwise, he would have sentenced them to prison until they died of old age.
Meanwhile, Nick felt utterly exasperated by the higher-ups who were protecting the eight congressmen—how dare they? Having already incurred such public wrath, why hadn't they punished the eight congressmen?
