Chapter Twenty-Three: Heading to Kamar-Taj

After a long while, Betty pulled Banner to his feet and walked towards the group of people including Ger.

Gel handed Banner a set of clothes, which he had just retrieved from his home through a portal.

"Thank you." Dr. Banner finished dressing and thanked Gel shyly.

Looking at the man before him, Gerald couldn't reconcile him with the Hulk from before—Dr. Banner, now back in his normal body, possessed the refined appearance of an extremely scholarly man, much like the learned professors Gerald had seen on university campuses. Judging from his slightly squinted eyes, he even appeared to be nearsighted.

Natasha walked over and smiled at the two of them: "I am Natasha Romanoff from S.H.I.E.L.D. We are affiliated with the International Security Council and specialize in handling all kinds of strange events around the world. You should both know this white-robed wizard; he is also a member of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Although Dr. Banner had been in Cuba, news was not scarce there, so he had heard of the White Wizard.

Hearing Natasha's words, Betty instinctively stepped in front of Banner to protect him and asked, "What should we do? Are you going to harm Bruce?"

Banner patted Betty on the shoulder reassuringly and stood back beside her.

Natasha shook her head and smiled reassuringly: "Of course not, we just want to handle things properly. And we don't get involved in politics, and we don't want Dr. Banner's blood for research."

Betty breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at Natasha, whom she had talked to the night before, Betty turned to the others and said, "You must be the six people from the pizzeria last night."

When Ger and his five companions realized their identities had been exposed, they simply removed their masks.

“In fact, if you want to leave here, I can send you out of New York and go wherever you want.” Gle had a good impression of Dr. Banner and Betty, so he didn’t mind helping the ill-fated couple this once.

Dr. Banner thought for a moment, then said apologetically, "I want to go to a remote place and live in seclusion for the rest of my life. In fact, I haven't transformed into the Hulk for more than two years before they found me."

If General Ross hadn't insisted on arresting him, he might have lived a quiet and uneventful life in Cuba.

Betty instinctively grabbed Dr. Banner's hand: "Bruce, you have to take me with you, you can't leave me behind again."

Dr. Banner pointed to his wrist, where the heart monitor had been worn: "Betty, you know, I..."

Betty shook her head and looked at Dr. Banner: "Have you forgotten about Mr. Blue that you told me about last night? He can definitely cure you."

Dr. Banner nodded, a grateful smile on his face, and asked, "Could you please take us to a more secluded place nearby? Betty and I are going to find an old friend. We can walk the rest of the way ourselves."

Gel nodded, knowing that Dr. Banner didn't want them to track his whereabouts either, so he opened a portal to the outskirts of the city and let the two of them go there: "This location is near the highway, nearly a hundred kilometers away from here. As long as you are careful, you won't be discovered so easily."

Banner and Betty thanked them repeatedly and then headed toward the portal, only to be stopped by Natasha.

Natasha took out a phone, operated it for a moment, and then handed it to Banner: "Dr. Banner, this is a phone whose signal cannot be tracked. There's nothing that shouldn't be installed on it. You can check all of that. I believe no hidden software can fool you. If anything happens, you can call my number immediately. It's saved here. Just give us your correct location, and we'll be there right away."

As she spoke, Natasha pointed to the spatial portal not far away.

Banner looked at the portal, his curiosity tempting him to investigate, but he immediately suppressed it, took the phone from Natasha's hand, and, pulling Betty along, passed through the portal.

"Let's go," Natasha said to Ger and the others after watching the portal close.

She also needed to figure out how to deal with a potential resurgence of crisis. Furthermore, she had to report to Director Nick that she had just knocked General Ross unconscious.

These are all troublesome matters.

Back at the hotel, apart from the busy Natasha, the other five lay motionless on the sofa.

Today's events have dealt a heavy blow to them.

Since gaining superpowers, they have had a smooth life. Even when some setbacks occurred, they solved them all well with their own abilities, until they met the Hulk.

With their abilities, they couldn't even do the slightest harm to the Hulk!

At dinner time, everyone, including Natasha, came to Ger's room.

The television was showing a scene of Gale and his five companions battling the Hulk.

"Hello everyone, this is New York Television. We are now broadcasting a surveillance video from Culver University. Because of the distance, the details of the battle are not clear, but it is obvious to everyone that Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Green Wind Man, and the White Wizard who has not appeared for a long time were at a disadvantage when facing the Hulk who suddenly appeared today."

The television was showing Peter being punched by the Hulk and sent flying into a tree. The atmosphere in the room had plummeted to freezing point.

"This has led many people online to question what kind of monster this suddenly appearing green giant is. Many have also begun to doubt whether Spider-Man and his team can no longer protect us, or whether they are not as powerful as we imagine?"
