Wanda sensed something else in Ger's words and gently pinched him: "Brother, are you saying that Natasha and I are ugly? Are you afraid that you'll throw up after seeing us?"
Gel quickly waved his hand: "Your sister Natasha is beautiful, I would never say that about her."
Wanda continued twisting the flesh on Ger's arm: "So you're talking about me?"
Geer pretended to be in a lot of pain, but refused to give in.
Natasha couldn't help but laugh as she listened to the conversation between the brother and sister.
As they spoke, the owner placed the pizza on the table for six people: "The pizza is ready, please enjoy."
While enjoying his pizza, Pietro asked, "Hey bro, are we going to Culver University tomorrow?"
Gel nodded: "Yes, we usually visit the university town around here. Many famous professors teach here. We're here these days without any other business, so if there's any class you'd like to attend, you can try sneaking in and listening in."
We don't know where Dr. Banner is, and he might not appear for many more days. We can't just lie in the hotel and wait for news.
Peter remembered a message his high school classmate had sent him: "Nathan was bragging that there's a biology professor at Culver University who's incredibly beautiful. I don't believe she can be prettier than Natasha and Wanda. I'm going to go see if that braggart Nathan is really like that..."
Peter had only spoken halfway when he heard the sound of his boss, Stanley, spraying water.
The six looked over with some curiosity, only to see the boss wiping his mouth and pointing at Betty sitting next to them with a strange expression: "The biology professor you're talking about should be this one."
Peter had no idea that the person being discussed was sitting right next to them. Thinking back on what he had just said, he immediately lowered his head in despair, silently eating his pizza and not daring to say another word.
Betty, on the other hand, was much more outgoing. As if she hadn't even noticed that she had just been mentioned, she took the initiative to change the subject: "Are you coming to Culver University tomorrow?"
Harry automatically chimed in, "Yes, there are six of us. We've been in Manhattan for a few days because of some business, and we're planning to visit Culver University tomorrow."
"Sister, come sit here." At Wanda's invitation, Betty went directly to the table with Gel and sat down next to Wanda, opposite Harry.
The group started chatting together and enjoyed the conversation immensely.
Harry talked a lot, and Betty just listened.
As the lights flickered, a gentle breeze swept through the store. Betty instinctively looked towards the open door, and when she saw the familiar face that pushed it open, her gaze froze for a moment, then turned to disbelief.
Just then, Harry changed his sitting position, blocking Betty's view. Betty instinctively turned her head to look towards the back door. But there, only two doors swaying in the wind remained.
Betty walked dejectedly towards the back door, then through it and into the alleyway at the edge of the street.
A light rain had started to fall, and amidst the wind and rain, the streets and alleys were deserted.
"Is that you? Is that you?" Betty called out several times, but no one responded.
Betty took a few deep breaths and walked into the house, looking utterly dejected.
Stanley, standing at the counter, looked at Betty and called out helplessly, "Betty..."
Betty simply raised her hand, letting the rain from her hair stream down her face, and asked, half pleading and half forcing, "Stanley, was the person I just saw the one I was thinking of?"
Stanley looked at Betty, unsure what to say, but after a moment, he couldn't bear it and nodded: "It's him."
Upon hearing this reply, Betty immediately rushed out the front door, braving the wind and rain, and drove around searching for that figure.
This time, she'll definitely find him!
The six people at the table watched the whole thing. Although they didn't know the cause and effect, they could roughly guess that Betty might have encountered an "old friend" she hadn't seen in a long time.
Gel patted Harry on the shoulder, walked out of the restaurant, and the group drove towards the hotel.
The rain outside was getting heavier, and the thunder was booming. The streetlights were almost submerged by the heavy rain.
On a bridge a few hundred meters away from the restaurant, Betty, who was driving, finally saw that familiar figure ahead.
She parked the car there and checked it carefully several times. The bright headlights behind her made the man realize something and he stopped.
Betty opened the car door, letting the rain soak her, and then rushed towards the man.
The man could no longer control himself and ran towards Betty as well.
In the rainy night, the two embraced tightly, and the booming thunder could not drown out Betty's pleading whisper: "Don't go anymore, don't go anymore, Banner!"
