Chapter 140 Odin's Death, Hela's Release from the Seal

Chapter 141 Odin's Death, Hela Releases the Seal

Meanwhile, on a distant Earth.

“My brother has been gone for several months now, and we haven’t heard from him since. We don’t know how he is.” Wanda leaned against the window, looking at the scenery outside, feeling somewhat melancholy.

Fortunately, she was able to use a little magic to sense that Gel was still alive and well, otherwise she would have been even more anxious.

"I feel like my brother should be back soon." Quicksilver sat down at the table, finishing up his lunch. For him, it didn't matter how much he ate, because he could survive entirely by absorbing energy, but he still enjoyed the process of eating.

Wanda gently rested her chin on her right hand, continuing to lament, "The Ancient One has already gone with Eternity, and now this new kid still needs me to teach him every day. It seems like he's not learning magic very quickly. Why did the Ancient One think he was a genius and insist on giving him the position of Sorcerer Supreme?"

A few days after Gol left Earth, a young man named Stephen Strange arrived at Kamar-Taj to study magic under the Ancient One. Although his learning speed was slightly faster than the others, Wanda still felt it was very slow. A few days ago, Mordo, bewitched by the Daedalus, went to attack the three great temples, attempting to bring the Daedalus down to Earth.

The Ancient One didn't tell Wanda about this at all, so by the time Wanda found out, the Ancient One's physical body had already been destroyed by Mordo. After talking with the Ancient One's spirit, Wanda learned that the Ancient One had grown tired of protecting Earth and wanted to follow Eternity to other planets and even other universes to see the world.

Furthermore, the Ancient One entrusted Stephen to Wanda, asking her to teach him magic properly. However, Stephen's progress was too slow, leaving Wanda somewhat helpless.

"Alright, compared to you and your brother, no one's progress is faster. Not everyone has chaos magic." Quicksilver devoured all the food on the table, then looked up. "What are you going to do later? Go to Asgard to learn magic from the Mother of the Gods, or go find Vision?"

"Pietro!" Wanda sat up slightly and called out to Pietro, though her words, though stern, were full of bluster.

Quicksilver shrugged, then activated his speed ability, quickly cleared the dishes on the table, greeted Wanda, and left.

As Wanda heard the door close, she couldn't help but mutter shyly to herself, "Let's go to Asgard later, let's go find Vision first."

Wanda flicked her fingers slightly, and chaotic energy surged towards her. The surrounding spatial energy rushed towards her, but at that moment, Wanda was surprised to find that a pendant hanging on her body suddenly exploded.

"Frigga is in danger!" Wanda examined the remaining pendants closely, her expression suddenly turning grim. She had made dozens of these pendants, each corresponding to the safety of a family member or friend. If they crushed the magical device Wanda had given them, the pendant on Wanda's body would shatter.

Vision slowly floated out from the portal in front of Wanda. When he saw the shattered pendant in front of Wanda, his expression turned serious. Slowly raising his head, Vision said to Wanda, "I'll go with you."

Wanda nodded: "Okay!"

The next moment, Wanda opened the portal to the space where the pendant automatically located itself, and then quickly stepped inside.

As far as the eye could see, Frigga, Thor, Jane, Loki, and the others were all sitting on benches in a huddle. There were no signs of a fight around them, and Wanda breathed a sigh of relief when she saw this scene.

However, Wanda keenly sensed the tears welling up in Frigga, Jane, and even Thor and Loki's eyes, and her heart sank.

"What happened?" Wanda slowly moved her feet and walked towards the group of people sitting together.

Odin patted the other chair next to him, his face showing a kindness and gentleness he had never seen before, even his usual majesty had completely disappeared: "Sit down."

Wanda looked at Odin, somewhat bewildered—it was noon, and Odin was not wearing the armor they usually saw him in, but rather casual clothes, something they would never normally see.

With some hesitation, Wanda slowly sat down.

Odin gestured for Vision to move a stool and sit down, and during this time, no one else said a word.

“My ancestors are already calling me.” These were Odin’s first words. He then looked at the others and smiled slightly. “You all already know that I have been in a deep sleep so many times recently.”

Although Wanda had already guessed it, her eyes still misted over when she heard Odin say those words.

Another familiar face is about to depart.

"But this is not the time for sorrow. After my death, Ragnarok will come. Wanda, we also need your help to get through this crisis." Odin gazed upwards, seemingly lost in some kind of memory.

"Ragnarok?" Wanda was even more puzzled. Her gaze then turned upwards, and she noticed that the mural depicting Odin, Thor, and their family, which had been carved in the center of the ceiling, had completely disappeared. In its place was a mural of conquest. However, in this mural, only a very imposing-looking woman stood beside Odin.

"She is my and Odin's first child, Hela, the goddess of death, and Thor and Loki's sister." Frigga's voice rang out slowly, surprising Thor and Loki. However, Loki's face showed a somewhat incongruous expression of emotion.
