"ah!"
The driver and co-pilot, flying through the air, felt the pain of their faces being cut by glass. Looking down at the explosion below, they broke out in a cold sweat—they had only come to deliver goods, how did they suddenly end up in the air, and then there was an explosion below?
Even from this distance, the two men could still feel the heat from the explosion. They even watched as the truck they had just been driving was reduced to sparking fragments in the blast.
If the two of them were still on that truck, they would surely suffer the same fate as the truck.
Thinking of this, both of their legs went weak.
"Shut up." A cold voice rang in their ears. The two turned their heads slightly, trembling, and saw a person in an Iron Man suit flying beside them.
Is this Iron Man?
"White-robed wizard, send these two away first," Tony said to Gel with a hint of helplessness as he listened to their shouts.
Ger nodded, and the next moment opened a spatial portal leading to the previous battlefield, placed the two of them next to a soldier, and then closed the portal.
Looking at the explosion below, Ger made a rough guess and felt that his guess was probably the truth: as a precaution, he had destroyed the Hulk blood on the twelfth truck. The enemy must have discovered something amiss with the twelfth truck beforehand, which is why they didn't hesitate to launch rockets at it when they arrived at the factory.
"According to calculations, the rocket originated from ten kilometers away, with approximate spatial coordinates as..." Jarvis's mechanical voice rang in Tony's ears.
Tony nodded at Gel: "Let's go see who dares to fire rockets at me from New York?"
He's someone who made his fortune in weapons, and today he was inexplicably bombarded by rockets. If word got out, those weapons industry bosses would probably laugh him to death.
As Jarvis broadcast the spatial coordinates, Gol stretched out his right hand. As streams of chaotic energy gathered in front of him, a spatial portal opened before them. Tony and Gol flew into the portal one after the other.
This was a very desolate grassland, with dry weeds scattered everywhere. Through the starlight, one could clearly see that below, apart from a tank carrying multiple rocket launchers, there was nothing else.
After landing quickly on the ground, Gel and Tony's expressions instantly turned grim: only the tank remained, and it was completely empty!
The night wind howled coldly, and apart from the rustling of the wind through the grass, the only sounds were the heavy breathing of Ger and Tony, who were filled with anger.
“Since someone fired a shell, there must have been a trace.” Tony narrowed his eyes slightly, then controlled his Iron Man suit to land inside the tank.
Standing in front of the control room, Tony's fingertips rapidly deformed the steel, which he then inserted into the host interface and commanded Jarvis: "Jarvis, read the target information."
Instantly, all the indicator lights in the tank's control room lit up, and then Jarvis's voice began to ring out: "TE39 rocket tank, commonly seen during World War II, originally had a maximum range of 4,600 meters. This tank has been modified to have a maximum range of 16 kilometers."
"Attention, attention! The tank's self-destruct sequence has been triggered due to information reading. The tank will explode in 15 seconds. Please take cover. 14, 13..." Jarvis's alarm suddenly sounded.
Tony's expression, which had just begun to ease, froze instantly: "Can the self-destruct program be overridden?"
"The other party's program is too complex and cannot be covered in a short time," Jarvis's voice continued. "9, 8, 7..."
As Jarvis spoke, Gol's expression grew increasingly somber. In his perception, the tank was riddled with explosive points, even within the computer, making it impossible to quickly remove the explosives.
Watching Tony pull the steel finger out of the host interface and fly into the sky, Gel also waved his hands and flew into the sky.
"Bang!"
A loud bang echoed through the silent night, followed by a bright red flame that seemed to pierce the sky. The shockwave snapped and quickly ignited all the surrounding vegetation.
In an instant, everything was ablaze with red!
Gel closed his eyes, and a surge of chaotic magic spread outwards, sensing the surrounding situation. But a moment later, Gel opened his eyes.
Within his perception range, there was no one else besides the two of them.
Jarvis's voice rang out at this moment: "This rocket tank has been modified to eliminate all manual controls, allowing for remote operation."
Recalling his experiences during the pursuit, Ger couldn't help but sneer: "Multiple transportation points, deliberate diversions, remote control, self-destruct devices—this mysterious organization is truly meticulous!"
He and Tony exchanged a glance, both immediately seeing the anger in each other's eyes—neither of them had ever been so thoroughly outmaneuvered. After all that effort, they hadn't gotten any evidence.
Even these meticulous protective measures weren't actually designed to protect the two of them; rather, the person who devised the plan was so thorough that the two of them just happened to walk right into the trap.
Just then, Jarvis's mechanical voice continued, "Although the other party remotely controlled the computer and promptly deleted the information, and used sophisticated anti-tracking technology, we arrived too quickly, and they still left some traces. After analysis, the location of the remote control came from S.H.I.E.L.D.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Gale and Tony exclaimed in surprise simultaneously. Neither of them had expected that this whole thing would involve S.H.I.E.L.D.
