Natasha suppressed the panic and horror that surged within her and looked up at Gel: "Banner's blood may have been transferred by other forces."
Gel and Tony became increasingly certain that the mysterious force they had suspected might have intervened again.
"Banner, approximately how much blood do you have? What kind of equipment is it stored in? If transported by regular car or truck, could it all be transported in one go?" Natasha quickly turned her attention to Banner, asking him questions. She hoped to find a breakthrough from him.
Banner immediately understood Natasha's meaning, recalling the laboratory scene he had seen earlier: "Although I didn't send Dr. Stern much blood, he concentrated it and sorted it into many blood bags and blood vessels. I saw more than a dozen insulated cabinets that were over two meters high and over four meters long."
"Is the insulated cabinet in the lab still there?" Natasha turned to look at Gel and asked.
Gel immediately shook his head.
Natasha did some calculations, then took out her phone and opened a map, saying without looking up, "It would be too difficult to transport such a long insulated cabinet by helicopter, so the most likely method is by truck. There aren't many roads in Manhattan that allow trucks this long and tall to travel. The roads next to the lab lead in four directions, and two of them were recently destroyed by the Abomination and the Hulk and are now impassable. Judging from the extent of the fire, it's been burning for about ten minutes. That means they probably took one of the other two roads and drove onto one of these roads."
As she spoke, Natasha pointed out several directions marked on her phone to Gel.
"Jarvis, record the data and immediately hack into the Department of Transportation's surveillance system to see if there are any trucks matching the data. If you find any, immediately report the truck's current latitude and longitude coordinates to me," Tony ordered Jarvis sternly.
Although he enjoys watching a spectacle, it doesn't mean he's unaware of the seriousness of the matter.
“Gale, now I’ll trouble you to check all the trucks one by one. Wanda, open the portal leading to General Ross’s location; I need to make a final confirmation with him. Banner and Betty, you two absolutely cannot appear in anyone’s sight again, so stay here for now. Pietro, you stay here and protect Banner, Betty, and Bronsky, making sure they are not subjected to any stimulation or accidents. Peter and Harry, you two stay here as mobile force, ready to provide assistance to any of us, okay?” Natasha methodically explained her plan to everyone present, even considering Bronsky lying on the ground.
She was the only agent present, and her control over the battle situation was unmatched by anyone else, so everyone, including Tony, took her arrangements seriously.
After saying that, Natasha looked at Wanda.
Wanda nodded, used chaotic energy to open a spatial portal in front of her leading to the previous battlefield, and then stepped inside.
Natasha took a deep breath and stepped inside—these politicians were as cunning as foxes, and she worried that asking over the phone would yield false information. She figured it would be better to find General Ross directly and ask him about the situation; she was confident that no one could lie to her.
The affected neighborhoods are slowly returning to normal thanks to the efforts of soldiers, police, firefighters, and others.
The flames that were everywhere were extinguished, the obstacles on the road were cleared from the middle of the road, and most importantly, the people who were frantically fleeing on the road were now returning home one after another, and there were very few people to be seen on the road.
“There,” Wanda sensed it and pointed in a direction. The next moment, Wanda opened a portal leading to General Ross.
"The crowd has been largely dispersed..." At this moment, an officer was standing next to General Ross, reporting the current situation to him.
After listening attentively, General Ross looked at the officer and said, "Report the current losses."
Just then, a portal opened to his right, and Natasha and Wanda walked out of it.
"Natasha, how is Betty?" General Ross asked anxiously as soon as he saw Natasha.
Natasha didn't answer his question, but instead looked directly at General Ross, observing his next reaction: "General Ross, the Hulk blood in Dr. Stern's laboratory has disappeared. This matter is too important, so please tell me truthfully, was the Hulk blood taken away by your soldiers?"
General Ross's expression quickly shifted from worry to seriousness; he had never expected Natasha to bring such a bombshell.
General Ross narrowed his eyes slightly and shook his head solemnly: "I did not send anyone to move it."
He stared intently at Natasha, his mind instinctively turning to her and his group. After all, S.H.I.E.L.D. had been involved in the entire incident from beginning to end; if the Hulk's blood was missing, the most likely culprit was S.H.I.E.L.D.
Natasha's heart sank upon hearing General Ross's reply: "How many people around you know that Dr. Stern's lab has Hulk blood?"
General Ross looked at Natasha with suspicion, but still answered her question in a low voice: "It was Blonsky who led a group of soldiers to capture Banner, and it was they who discovered the Hulk's blood in the lab and reported it to me. If any soldiers had passed the message out to the outside world, there would be too many suspicious people. Most importantly, those soldiers who entered the lab were either killed or injured because of their hatred."
Natasha was there at the time, so of course she knew that what General Ross said was true.
