Tokyo Singularity (Part 3): The Dream Child Adorning the Other Side...

Tokyo Singularity (Part 3): The Dream Child Adorning the Other Side...

"Wow, this time they're really going all out."

Despite his complaints, Oberon stopped his attack. He touched the ground with his toes and slowly flew into the air, golden light gradually emanating from his body.

The seeds, gleaming with an eerie light, continued to spread outwards, making the fair-skinned, beautiful boy appear exceptionally small amidst the seeds covering the earth. But he simply smiled radiantly, and a butterfly alighted on his fingertip.

"This is all I can do. You, with your childlike heart, after the summer night."

The sun hung high in the sky, radiating intense sunlight. But for a moment, Haibara Yu felt that the boy was more radiant and dazzling than the sun, so much so that it was almost unbearable to look directly at him.

Only then did he vaguely realize the meaning of the Noble Phantasm spoken by the girl blocking his way. Glancing to the side, he saw that the girl was simply focused on everything happening before her.

Then, almost as if he had forgotten to breathe, a magnificent scene that Haibara Yu would never forget unfolded.

Golden rain of light fell, and butterflies fluttered upwards. They intertwined, converged, and together created a magnificent, dreamlike scene of the autumn forest, like a domain enveloped by a cursed spirit.

"Love should not be touched, but kept as a cherished memory in the heart—"

"A dreamlike fairy tale adorned on the other side."

There was absolutely no room for resistance. In an instant, as if their souls had been ripped away, the seeds transformed into clusters of golden flames, swimming upwards, attempting to approach the prince suspended high in the air. But it was nothing more than moths drawn to a flame.

As the last rays of sunlight faded, the Imaginary Tree seeds that had once covered the ground vanished without a trace, as if it were all a dream. Only the lingering pain from his wounds told Haibara Yu that it was all real.

Haiyuanxiong: "..."

He pinched his arm hard to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. He wanted to say something, but he was so shocked that his mouth was wide open but no sound came out.

With this level of skill, he's on par with Gojo-senpai and Natsuyu-senpai, right?!

“Look,” Fujimaru Ritsuka said with a smile, patting Haibara Yu on the shoulder, “we all survived.”

Haibara Yu subconsciously looked at the girl; she didn't look much older than him. But her bright and resolute eyes were incredibly captivating, making one unable to help but trust everything she said.

"—Amazing!"

Haibara Yu stared intently at Ritsuka: "You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for saving me!"

"My name is Haibara Yu, and I'm a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Just call me Haibara! May I know your names?"

Fujimaru Ritsuka was slightly taken aback, then raised her eyebrows and said, "The one who defeated the cursed spirit was Oberon. I am Fujimaru Ritsuka."

She paused, looking intently at Haibara Yu, "By the way, Haibara, could you please tell me something first?"

"Of course! Five, ten, anything is fine!" Seeing Fujimaru Ritsuka's serious expression, Haibara Yu stood even tighter. His mind raced. What could be more important than the mutation of a cursed spirit? Did this mission originate from his school, or from Gojo-senpai and Natsuyu-senpai?

However, Fujimaru Ritsuka only asked:

What year is it now?

"...Eh, eh??!"

When Nanami Kento returned to the tent with a resolute attitude, he was speechless to see two unfamiliar boys and the living, breathing Haibara Yu talking intently in the ruins.

"So, you traveled to 2007 to handle a world-class crisis? How cool—isn't this the plot of a novel?!"

What crisis? What protagonist?

Hearing the sounds coming from not far away, Nanami Kento's tense nerves relaxed, but too much. He almost couldn't catch his breath; if it weren't for the lingering fluctuations of his incantation, he would have thought he had stumbled into some kind of story magazine.

After the girl on the other end repeatedly denied it, emphasizing that she was just an ordinary person, but did not deny the fact that she had traveled through time, Nanami Kento finally couldn't help but interrupt this bizarre conversation.

"Haiyuan!"

"Ah, Nanami, I'm here!" Haibara Yuu suddenly turned around and ran over, eagerly pulling Nanami Kento to Fujimaru Ritsuka's side.

"Fujimaru and Mr. Oberon just saved me! They're incredibly powerful; the near-Special Grade Cursed Spirit and the mutated spinning top vanished in the blink of an eye!"

"Thank you, thank you for saving Haibara," Nanami Kento immediately thanked them. Although he had doubts about their strange words, what sorcerer is normal? The fact that they had saved Haibara Yu was enough for him to overlook this little quirk.

After Haibara Yu desperately held off the cursed spirit so he could go out and find support, Nanami Kento left the tent and immediately notified Gojo-senpai and the assistant supervisor, then rushed back without stopping.

Even if it's just to retrieve Haibara Yu's body, he has to come back.

But when he stepped back into the tent, a dreamlike light seemed to pierce through the black curtains, showering down like a golden rain. The beautiful scene left him speechless, and he almost stopped in his tracks.

It seems that the light was a spell cast by one of the two people in front of them.

However, after carefully examining the unfamiliar faces of Fujimaru Ritsuka and Oberon, a question suddenly arose in his mind.

Is he a senior from the Kyoto school? I've never seen him before, and I've never heard Gojo and the others mention his ability to exorcise a near-Special Grade.

"Excuse me, are you two graduates of Kyoto Jujutsu High School?" Nanami Kento asked.

"No, of course not, Nanami, let me tell you!"

Before Fujimaru Ritsuka could repeat her previous explanation, Haibara Yu excitedly finished it for her in one breath, including the suddenly changed cursed spirit, the time travel that did not belong to this era, and the singularity that influenced history.

After hearing this, Nanami Kento's eyes went blank: "..."

Why did you believe such nonsense so easily?!

"...I'm sorry, I don't mean to doubt you, but this is really hard to believe. Do you have any evidence?" He looked at Fujimaru Ritsuka and Oberon scrutinizingly, subtly shielding Haibara Yu behind him.

“I know,” Fujimaru Ritsuka said earnestly, “but I think the best proof is that the cursed spirits you talked about in the past will not become the seeds of the Imaginary Tree.”

After a moment, Nanami Kento asked, "So... what do you need?"

He still thought time travel was too far removed from common sense, but the anomaly of the cursed spirit was an undeniable fact. The fact that the two people opposite him were willing to explain so much was definitely not just due to Haibara Yu's curiosity.

Since that's the case, we might as well just ask directly.

“I hope to get in touch with the person in charge of compiling your tasks.” Fujimaru Ritsuka breathed a sigh of relief, believing that this was enough. “What happened today is definitely not an isolated case, and I want to follow this lead.”

She didn't use the debt of saving her life to pressure Haibara Yu and the others, but Haibara Yu wasn't the kind of person who would forget a favor. He suddenly interjected, "By the way, Fujimaru, did you guys not have anywhere to stay since you just arrived?"

Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded, puzzled. Having received confirmation, Haibara Yuichi clapped his hands and said happily, "That's great! Come back to the vocational high school with us, the seniors and Mr. Yagami will know more!"

"Haiyuan?!"

"Nanami, is there a problem?"

“…No, no.” Nanami Kento swallowed the words he was about to say in response to Haibara Yuu’s bright, sparkling eyes.

He then thought that since both of the top-tier senior students were at the vocational high school today, Gojo's six eyes might be able to see more. So he changed his tune, "Come with me. The assistant supervisor is outside."

On the way out of the tent, Nanami Kento and Haibara Yu led the way, talking to each other from time to time, accompanied by Nanami's sighs.

Fujimaru Ritsuka and Oberon were two steps behind them.

Oberon, who had been letting Ritsuka lead the conversation, looked over and said, "Just like that, a hole has been punched in the bottom of a bowl, revealing everything that needs to be hidden? Even if you're heartless, there's a limit, isn't there?"

Fujimaru Ritsuka smiled and said, "Thank you for your concern, but I'm quite confident in my judgment of people! Besides... it's not because you're here."

Oberon: "—"

"Because Oberon will protect me."

“…Wow, that’s a really unfair answer. Next topic, next topic.” Oberon put his sunglasses back on. “Without a Servant, could you handle those people by yourself?”

"Don't worry." Ritsuka already knew what Oberon was going to do, and she winked slyly. "I can definitely do it."

Before they knew it, the four of them had reached the edge of the tent. The assistant director, who had been looking serious, was stunned with extreme surprise when he saw Haibara Yu and Nanami Kento appear unharmed.

After Nanami briefly explained the situation, the assistant supervisor nodded blankly, and the black car carrying five people slowly started and drove towards Tokyo Jujutsu High School.

Meanwhile, the strongest duo, who were waiting for the local specialties, also learned about the experiences of their juniors through text messages.

With a bang, the door to the infirmary was violently pushed open, and a familiar voice reached the ears of Shoko Ieiri, who was writing a report.

"...Wow, Shoko, your dark circles are so deep it looks like you've been thieves at night."

"Shoko, that's true. How long has it been since you had a good night's sleep? Is the workload too heavy?"

Shoko Ieiri remained expressionless, simply resting her chin on her hand as she watched her two contemporaries across from her, who were engaging in a back-and-forth exchange.

It seems Nanami has sent some good news; she rarely sees two Special Grade soldiers knocking on the infirmary door so easily at the same time.

"If that's all you two came here for, then I won't see you off, thank you. And Xia You, look in the mirror, your dark circles are clearly... Hmm? You've been sleeping very well lately."

"Haha, yes, the missions are a bit less difficult. Shoko, you should also take a break."

Upon hearing Shoko's words, Gojo Satoru shamelessly sat on the bed in the infirmary, determined not to leave.

"How can you be so heartless, Shoko! It's been so long since we've been together, don't you miss us at all?"

“Satoru…” Xia Youjie slowly turned his head and smiled at Gojo Satoru, “Do you still remember that we came here to talk about serious matters, not to harass the female students?”
