Tokyo Singularity (Part 4): Everyone in Chaldea is just like you...
Hearing this, Ieiri Shoko became interested and looked at Gojo Satoru with curiosity.
Under the pressure of their gazes, Gojo Satoru gave in. "Tch, I know, I'll tell you. Nanami is going to bring the people who saved Haibara to the high school and say they came from another world to solve a global crisis."
Ieiri Shoko: "...?" What is this? It's even more ridiculous than a cursed spirit.
"Nanami believed it too?" She raised an eyebrow, her tone filled with surprise.
"Of course not, otherwise he wouldn't have messaged me." Gojo Satoru commented with a look of disdain: "Ha, believing that someone has traveled through time to become a savior is less likely than believing that I will stay at the university after graduation!"
Following Gojo Satoru's words, Ieiri Shoko pondered for a moment. Gojo Satoru, this young master, staying at the school as a teacher... Ah, then the vocational high school is doomed, isn't it?
"Maybe," she said, intrigued, teasing Six-Eyed. "The casualty rate among sorcerers has been abnormal lately; I've been staying up for several nights in a row."
"Huh? Shoko, you actually believe this kind of nonsense that's meant for kids? You're staying up all night because it's summer and curses are popping up everywhere, aren't you?"
"Really? I had no idea that so many high-ranking officials would die in the summer of that year." Ieiri Shoko put down the report, stood up, and said, "Alright, since they're all coming, let's go."
"Let's see for ourselves."
At the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Higher Specialized School, the fiery red sunset cast its glow, and a black sedan slowly pulled up in front of the school gate.
Originally leaning against the gate, blocking the light for the family's glass with Natsumi Yuki, Gojo Satoru became interested, pushed up his sunglasses, and watched the car door open with great curiosity.
The first to come out were the second-year students, who greeted them with two overlapping "Hello, seniors!" Haibara Yu greeted them energetically and handed the bag he was carrying to Xia Youjie.
Hmm, Nanami's hair is a bit messy, and Haibara's clothes are all torn... but surprisingly, she's unharmed.
Gojo Satoru stroked his chin, mentally assessing the situation. After confirming that his juniors were all safe and sound, he turned his gaze to the back seat of the black car—
A petite girl stepped out of the car. Her orange-red, shoulder-length hair seemed to blend into the sunset, and her golden eyes seemed to hold the sunlight, warm and resolute.
Anyone who saw this scene would probably pause for a second, unwilling to break the beauty. But Gojo Satoru, unperturbed, leaned forward.
As the strongest, he was naturally more concerned about the strength of the so-called time travelers. Those who could travel through time and space should at least be one in ten thousand, if not stronger than him.
"You're the one who saved Haibara?"
Wearing sunglasses, Gojo Satoru walked around Fujimaru Ritsuka as if he were observing a rare animal. This caused not only the usually composed Nanami Kento to lose his composure, but even Iiri Shoko and Natsuyu Suguru silently took a step back, unwilling to speak to their idiot colleagues.
He finally stopped in front of Fujimaru Ritsuka and commented sharply, "No matter how you look at it, you're surprisingly ordinary. Your spell power level is only third-rate, super weak."
She's neither mysterious nor powerful; she might not even be able to withstand the power of a single "Azure" being. She seems not much different from the weaklings in need of rescue that Jay described. The idea of time travel seems even more absurd.
Just as Gojo Satoru was about to say something more, the prescient Xia Youjie stepped forward with a smile and cut him off in advance: "Satoru, please show some respect to this lady who saved your two juniors."
Although Xia Youjie also felt that the girl in front of him was a bit weak, the fact that he had saved Haibara was undeniable. He politely said, "I'm sorry, that's just how Satoru is. Thank you for saving my junior."
"It's alright, I'm just an ordinary person." Fujimaru Ritsuka shook her head indifferently. Putting aside the fact that these words would have almost zero offensive power in Chaldea, the word "ordinary" alone was a compliment to her.
So, she simply raised her eyebrows and extended her hand generously, "Hello, I am Fujimaru Ritsuka, from Chaldea."
"Xia Youjie, a third-year student at a vocational college."
Xia Youjie subconsciously grasped the seemingly slender hand. But the instant their palms met, he felt that the girl's palms had calluses and scars far exceeding those of an ordinary person, even those of a sorcerer.
These are the hands of a warrior.
He paused for a moment, and only when Gojo Satoru's questioning and teasing gaze drifted over did he remember to let go of her hand. "This is Gojo Satoru, and the one next to him is Ieiri Shoko. They were both my classmates."
"Hello." Shoko Ieiri waved to Ritsuka. "Welcome to the college. Let's go inside and talk."
The suggestion was met with everyone's approval. So the group made their way to the college conference room. Taking advantage of their similar gender, Shoko Ieiri and Ritsuka chatted side-by-side, and soon the others had no chance to interject.
Meanwhile, Gojo Satoru, lagging behind, was still recalling Ritsuka's radiant smile. The feeling was hard to describe; he had to take back his earlier words. This person's smile possessed an infectious quality that ordinary people lacked, even captivating someone like Jetsu.
Is that what makes her special?
Thinking of this, Gojo Satoru blinked. Like a cat that had just discovered a secret, he couldn't wait to take off his sunglasses and try to see the person in front of him clearly with his six eyes.
"..."
"..."
"...Wait, wake up! What are you spacing out for? There are trees in front of you!"
Xia Youjie's shocked shout shattered Wujiao Wu's eardrums. He subconsciously shook his hand, and the sunglasses were put back on his eyes, pulling him back from the brink of blindness.
Fujimaru Ritsuka... just who is she?!
This little incident didn't stop the group from going to the meeting room. The last to enter, Iori Shoko, fumbled to turn on all the lights, and instantly the room's brightness surpassed the glow of the sunset outside.
Inside the meeting room, the wooden tables and chairs exuded a distinctive aroma. Sitting by the window, Xia Youjie seemed to suddenly remember something and asked, "By the way, you should have a companion, right? Where is he?"
Fujimaru Ritsuka pulled out a chair, sat down, and explained, "Oberon has never been to this era; he wants to travel around and see the world."
Actually, she went to find the spiritual vein. Before leaving, she told her to enjoy campus life with her peers. She could stop and rest if she wanted.
If you need to call him back, use a Command Spell.
She looked up at the unfamiliar scenery and familiar layout... the campus.
"You sound like you've been to this era before. And what's this Chaldea thing?" Gojo Satoru asked casually, crossing his legs. But compared to his playful tone at the gate earlier, he seemed much more serious this time.
"New Chaldea, a human rights protection organization that exists to prevent the extinction of humanity and safeguard the future of human reason." Fujimaru Ritsuka skipped the first question that probed her experience and went straight to answering the following questions.
Before they could react, she continued, "Chaldea detected a tiny anomaly in this era that distorts history, so they sent me to deal with it... but something went wrong along the way." She shrugged helplessly.
Xia Youjie paused for a moment. Human rights guarantees, distorting history—it all sounded absurd. Could such things truly exist?
He was certain the girl in front of him wasn't lying; the scars on her palms proved she was someone with experience. But what she said was too ahead of her time.
It's like a comic book turning into reality; it's hard to believe. "What you're saying, I—"
Gojo Satoru interrupted Natsuyuki, "Let's assume it's the situation you described. What kind of cooperation do you need?"
"...Satoru!?" Xia Youjie's small eyes widened. He couldn't believe that Gojo Satoru would believe him so easily, without any evidence whatsoever!
Before he could say anything more, Ieiri Shoko shook her head at him and pointed to her eyes. Natsume Yuuki instantly realized—six eyes. Perhaps it was Satoru's six eyes that saw things they couldn't.
While the two were exchanging knowing glances, the conversation nearby continued. Fujimaru Ritsuka organized her thoughts, "Have you ever encountered a cursed spirit suddenly transforming into another form halfway through a battle? Or any other unusual situation you could sense?"
Earlier in the car, Oberon had subtly gleaned a lot of information about this world from the sidelines. Negative emotions generated by humans can transform into curses, and curses can only be dispelled by curses themselves.
There is no magic here, only sorcery and sorcerers.
It's starting to look more and more like a Lostbelt.
"...Asking me is useless. Everyone who deserved to die has died by now."
Xia Youjie twitched his lips and glanced at Six-Eyed Boy, who had spoken the truth but sounded like he was showing off.
Gojo Satoru, noticing the gaze, suddenly pointed at Xia Youjie as if he understood, "He too, all his cursed spirits were eaten."
Xia Youjie: "..." Although what he said is correct, why does it sound so awkward?
His gaze met Fujimaru Ritsuka's eyes. She paused for a moment, as if she understood something, then gave him a thumbs-up and smiled encouragingly.
Sure enough, it's Wu's way of speaking that's the problem!
"Sigh. Fujimaru, just ignore those two. I've already heard the details from Nanami and Haibara, and Yoga-sensei has agreed to let you stay here." Ieiri Shoko couldn't stand it anymore and waved her phone.
"We'll keep an eye on what you've said these next few days. It just so happens that Wu Tiao and Xia You have suddenly become free recently, so you can go to them if you have any questions."
After saying this, Ieiri Shoko received a thank you from Fujimaru Ritsuka, two "as expected of a reliable senior" gazes, and...
"Wow, when did Shoko become so mature and grown-up!" came Gojo Satoru's exaggerated shock.
"Shoko beat us to it." Xia Youjie felt a strange sense of relief, like a mother sighing over her child growing up.
Ieiri Glass: "..."
Ignoring the clown duo, she stood up, ready to take Ritsuka to the girls' dormitory. Fujimaru Ritsuka stood up as well. Just before they stepped out the door, Gojo Satoru's voice came from behind them, neither too loud nor too soft.
"Are all the Chaldeans like you?"
“No.” Fujimaru Ritsuka didn’t turn around. “They are incredibly learned and exceptional. I’ve come this far thanks to their support.”
—
Upon arriving at the dormitory entrance, Iori Shoko lazily introduced the facilities inside and also introduced the current students at the vocational college.
Feeling that she had fulfilled her role in guiding the "new students," she waved her hand, winked at Ritsuka, and her shoulder-length brown hair stood up, making her look sly and playful.
"That's all for now, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow!" Fujimaru Ritsuka returned home and gave Iri Shoko a bright smile before closing the dormitory door.
Turning around, she was unsurprised to see Oberon sitting impatiently on the edge of the bed. She walked over and sat down on the other side of the bed without ceremony, asking, "Oberon, have you found anything?"
“It should be said that it’s an incredible discovery,” Oberon said, raising an eyebrow. “I’ve found the venomous vein.”
