The design inspirations for Daiyu Burying Flowers and Baochai Catching Butterflies are based on classic story clips that happened to the characters to create card skills. So, others can also adopt this idea.

Shi Xiangyun is a character that Xie Mingzhe likes very much. In the TV series, the most profound impression of her on Xie Mingzhe is the bright red dress. Xiangyun is a carefree and heartless girl with a cheerful and generous personality. She is the most optimistic and straightforward person among the Twelve Hairpins of Jinling.

Xiangyun sleeping drunk is one of the most classic scenes in the Dream of the Red Chamber. The original text describes that Xiangyun was sleeping carelessly on a stone bench after getting drunk. She used a handkerchief to wrap a bunch of flower petals as a pillow and slept very sweetly. Flower petals fell all over her body, a group of bees and butterflies circled around her, and she was talking in her sleep.

This scene perfectly depicts the image of Shi Xiangyun as a bold and unrestrained girl.

The character image gradually took shape in Xie Mingzhe's mind, but the key was how to design the skills.

Since Shi Xiangyun fell asleep after getting drunk, perhaps we can design a "sleeping" control skill.

There is a clear shortage of control cards in his current deck, especially single control.

There will be obvious differences in skill data between single control and group control.

Most crowd control skills have an effect of 2 to 4 seconds. The longer the crowd control skill, the longer the cooldown CD. The time of single control is usually 3 to 8 seconds. The system will generate the skill cooldown CD based on the effect time. A single control of 3 seconds has the shortest cooldown CD. A single control skill of 8 seconds has a CD time of more than 2 minutes.

In team battles, if the cards survive long enough, many skills can be used twice, three or four times. Therefore, when designing a deck, the CD time of control cards should also be matched with different lengths.

Skills with long CDs have a long control time, but the disadvantage is that they may only be used once in a game. Skills with short CDs are more flexible, but the disadvantage is that the control time is too short and may not achieve the desired effect.

Xie Mingzhe currently does not have any particularly flexible control cards in his deck.

It would be better to design Shi Xiangyun's sleep time to be shorter and the CD time to be as short as possible, so that control skills can be released multiple times to disrupt the opponent's rhythm.

Xie Mingzhe quickly came up with the design for the first skill "Xiangyun Drunk Sleeping". The shortest single-target sleep control is 3 seconds, and the CD time can be shortened to 20 seconds. However, the image of the card character is very difficult to draw. Xie Mingzhe did not want the imperial concubine he drew to look too fake, so he put a lot of effort into the design of clothes and jewelry.

He spent an hour painting Empress Yuanchun's noble clothes and gorgeous hairpins separately, and then combined them. The final product looked quite good, and the image of the graceful and dignified imperial concubine came to life.
