Chapter Sixty-Six: The Tea Party of the Wrongfully Accused Sisters - A Bloodbath

He Jun was crying and sniffling, but Xu Jingfei's face remained completely calm. She raised her hand and pressed the call button at the front desk: "Security, please ask this gentleman to leave. If he comes back again, we will call the police."

"Feifei! You can't be so heartless!"

He Jun tried to lunge forward, but two security guards who arrived in time grabbed his arms. He struggled and turned around, shouting, "I've done so much for you, have you forgotten the romance of watching the sunrise together? Have you forgotten that you said I'm the one who understands you the most?"

Xu Jingfei picked at her ear, looking disgusted: "What's the value of romance? Can it cover the hundreds of thousands of yuan in debt you owe? Also, don't flatter yourself. My original words were 'You're slightly better than that chuunibyou Luo Muyang,' not 'You understand me best.'"

These words silenced He Jun instantly. He was half-dragged, half-carried away by security guards. Before leaving, he didn't forget to say, "You'll regret this," a typical ending of a low-quality, melodramatic drama.

At this moment, Xu Jinglan appeared out of nowhere, holding a cup of coffee in her hand: "What did I tell you? This kid can't last three minutes. Only you can tolerate him and dawdle for so long."

"Auntie? What are you doing here?"

Luo Yan was stunned for a moment, then realized what she meant, "You're the one who exposed He Jun's affair, aren't you?"

Xu Jinglan raised an eyebrow and sat down on the sofa: "This guy owes more than 200,000 yuan in online loans and is also dating three rich women at the same time. Only Xu Jingfei is blind enough to be fooled by that cheap romance."

Xu Jingfei glared at her, "I haven't settled accounts with you yet! Why didn't you say something was wrong with him sooner!"

"Doesn't collecting evidence take time?"

Xu Jinglan glared back without any politeness, "How do you plan to thank me?"

"You still have the nerve? The matter with Luo Muyang isn't over between me yet, so let's not call it even!"

Xu Jingfei turned around and pulled out two bottles of red wine from the cabinet. "Come on, let's close the door and drink to celebrate getting rid of this scumbag. Luo Yan, since we're here, why don't we have some too?"

The beauty salon's roller shutter door was pulled down, and three sofas were pushed together, displaying duck heads, peanuts, and smashed cucumbers that had been packed from the braised food shop next door.

Xu Jingfei opened the red wine bottle with a "bang" and filled three glasses.

"I don't want to run this lousy shop anymore. Now is the perfect time to break up the partnership. I plan to upgrade and open a high-end skin management center. I guarantee I'll make more money than I do now."

No sooner had she finished speaking than Luo Yan's phone rang. It was Luo Muyang calling. She pressed speakerphone, and Luo Muyang's loud voice echoed throughout the room: "Yanyan, have you told your mother yet? I've prepared all the funds, I guarantee she'll make a profit!"

Xu Jingfei shouted into the phone, "Luo Muyang, save your breath. I, Xu Jingfei, don't spend a single penny of a man's money now. You should save that little bit of money to buy yourself hair growth tonic. Otherwise, you might lose all your hair and not even be able to see me anymore."

"Feifei, how could you say that to me?" Luo Muyang's voice was full of grievance. "I just wanted to help you. It must be so hard for you to start a business all by yourself. With me here, you can just be the boss's wife and don't have to worry about anything."

"Who wants to be your boss's wife? Let me tell you, from today onwards, I'm going to build my own career and live the life of an independent woman!"

After Xu Jingfei finished speaking, she hung up without hesitation and looked at Xu Jinglan: "This is your 'white moonlight' male god! You were willing to break up with me back then for this idiot."

Xu Jinglan scoffed, "You don't want it? Then I'll take it."

"Get lost!" Xu Jingfei slammed her hand on the table, so hard that the wine bottle jumped. "Let me tell you, Xu Jinglan, don't touch Luo Muyang, or don't blame me for turning on you!"

"Heh, didn't we fall out a long time ago?"

"Anyway... whether I want Luo Muyang or not is my business. He can only be my one and only simp!"

Xu Jinglan snorted twice, too lazy to argue about the issue. She put down her wine glass and said, "Alright, let's get down to business. How about we go into partnership? I'll provide the customer resources and some capital, and you'll provide the technology and management. We'll split the profits 50/50."

Xu Jingfei was taken aback, then laughed: "Partner with me? Aren't you usually so arrogant and look down on me for working in the beauty industry?"

"Times have changed." Xu Jinglan shrugged. "Making money is nothing to be ashamed of."

"Hmph, you have good taste." Xu Jingfei retorted, but a hint of a smile flashed in her eyes. "Let me make this clear from the start: after we become partners, I'll be in charge. You can't interfere or manage things."

"Why should you have the final say?" Xu Jinglan retorted immediately. "The customers I provide should at least be treated as equals and should be involved in major decisions."

"Do you even know what skin management is? Do you know what IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) skin rejuvenation and Thermage are?"

"I may not understand the technology, but I understand customers! You think those rich women are so easy to please? Without me, no one would come to your shop!"

The two started arguing again, from management authority to profit-sharing ratios, from interior design to employee recruitment, like two cats with their fur standing on end, neither willing to give in.

Luo Yan, sandwiched in the middle, munched on a duck head while watching the live version of the sitcom, and her mood inexplicably improved a lot.

After arguing for half an hour, the two stopped at the same time. Xu Jingfei took a sip of red wine and said, "Forget it, if we're on equal footing, then we're on equal footing, but I'm in charge when it comes to technique."

Xu Jinglan nodded: "Deal. I'll handle the client resources, but the decoration has to be my style. It has to be high-end and minimalist, not your fancy stuff."

Xu Jingfei waved her hand impatiently, "Fine, fine, so you won't keep saying I've always argued with you about everything since we were kids..."

So, the two sisters, who were arguing fiercely one second, shook hands and made up the next, and even reached an agreement in a miraculous way.

"And you too!"

Xu Jingfei suddenly snatched Luo Yan's phone from the table. "I felt something was off about you today! You seemed distracted and kept looking at your phone. I'm just curious to see what I can find out from this phone!"

Luo Yan quickly tried to snatch it back, shouting, "Give me back my phone! Are you drunk?"

While dodging, Xu Jingfei turned on her phone. "Oh, no messages? Did you and Jiang Sui have a fight? Are you in a cold war?"

Luo Yan's grievances resurfaced, and she muttered, "It wasn't really an argument. I asked him if he was truly sincere about being with me, and he slammed the door and left. I haven't seen him for two days."

Xu Jingfei nearly spat out the red wine she had just drunk. "That's it? You're getting hung up on this stupid question?"

"What do you mean by a 'broken question'?" Luo Yan retorted. "Isn't it important that I want to know if my boyfriend truly loves me?"

"Can sincerity feed you?" Xu Jingfei put down her wine glass, adopting the air of someone who's been there all along. "Jiang Sui, a senior executive at a top IT company, comes home exhausted after a long day, and you expect him to act out an idol drama with you? I think you're just bored because you have a secure job!"

"Well... I can't just leave things like this without thinking, can I? Didn't we do that before..."

"Alright!"

Xu Jingfei patted Luo Yan on the shoulder, interrupting her: "He has plenty of choices, what makes him so desperate to pick a contrarian like you?"

Luo Yan retorted, "You can't speak unless you belittle me?"

"Calm down. I'm telling you, instead of worrying about whether a man loves you or not, think about whether he's useful, how much money he can spend on you, and how many problems he can solve..."

"Old Luo is willing to spend money on you and can solve your problems, but you still think he's useless? So your 'independent woman' is only seen in Luo Muyang?"

"You don't know anything. Your dad is different. I don't rely on anyone else, not him."

"What's different? Oh... 'Yes, you have a child'?"

"Hey! Weren't we talking about you and Jiang Sui? Why are you changing the subject? Are you feeling guilty?"

"I wonder who's feeling guilty..."

Luo Yan popped two peanuts into her mouth.

Xu Jingfei seemed to remember something else, and a sly smile appeared on her lips. "I wasn't finished earlier. There's another way to judge a man, and that is... how long he lasts."

"That's right!"

Xu Jinglan suddenly interrupted loudly. Her cheeks were flushed from drinking, and she was still holding the bottle, grinning mischievously as she leaned closer.

"Yanyan... even if he doesn't love you, so what? As long as you're still together, as long as you love him, that's enough. A domineering civil servant's forced love, how exciting!"

Luo Yan: "..."

Isn't this step too far backward?

That evening, as soon as Luo Yan opened the door after returning home, Jiang Xiaosui came running over, meowing, and rubbing against her pants leg. She picked up the cat, stroked its fur, and sat on the sofa. She couldn't help but take out her phone again and open her chat with Jiang Xiaosui. The last message was "Okay," which he had replied to two days ago.

She sighed, tossed her phone aside, hugged Jiang Xiaosui, snuggled into the sofa, and stroked its head while muttering to herself:

"That jerk is so patient... wait, isn't this just passive-aggressive behavior?!"

Her phone suddenly rang, and she jumped up, grabbing it quickly, only to be disappointed to find it was Zeng Rong.

"Yan Yan, what an amazing encounter!"

Zeng Rong's loud voice, delivered in an exaggerated tone, came from the other end of the phone: "Guess what happened to me today?"

Luo Yan had no interest: "Everyone's making me guess riddles. Do I look like Conan? If I don't answer, I'm out."

"You'll regret this call for the rest of your life!"

"Oh, what kind of indescribable toy did your husband buy this time? Want to share your experience?"

"Stop fooling around!"

Zeng Rong said solemnly, "Today, President Jiang asked me for advice on how to make you believe that he is sincere."

Luo Yan's heart skipped a beat, but she tried her best to keep her tone steady, "He... really asked you?"

"Really! I asked him a few questions about you, and he answered them in more detail than the equipment specifications. You didn't see it... This arrogant, aloof handsome guy acted like a first-grader. I had to work really hard to hold back from laughing out loud in front of him."

Luo Yan suppressed her joy and pretended to be calm: "Did T call you late at night just to talk about this?"

"Oh dear, I almost forgot the main point."

Zeng Rong regained his seriousness: "Yanyan, you know President Jiang. Such a proud person would put aside his pride to come to me for advice, which means he really cares about you. Just act a little bit for the sake of his respectful attitude. A little bit of acting is fine, but too much will hurt your feelings."

"Okay, I got it. Stop nagging!"

After hanging up the phone, Luo Yan's mood instantly brightened. She scratched Jiang Xiaosui's chin and asked, "Do you think I should be magnanimous and forgive him this time?"

Jiang Xiaosui tilted her head to look at her, twitched her ears, wagged her tail, jumped off the sofa, and ran to the cat tree to fall asleep.
