Yu Wei pushed open the door to his single dormitory room. The room was small but very clean.
A potted plant sits on the desk by the window. To the left of the desk is a simple wardrobe, and to the right is a single bed with a neatly folded quilt at the head of the bed and three sets of clothes on top of it.
A camouflage outfit, a military green uniform, and a white dress with gold trim.
Opening the closet, one finds rows of black short-sleeved shirts and military green shirts, folded into neat squares, with several black hangers in the corner.
Yu Wei pouted, pulled out a chair and sat down, looking at the schedule on the table, trying hard to pinch his philtrum to keep himself from fainting.
Why do ordinary soldiers get up at six o'clock to wash up, but he has to get up at five o'clock and be at the training ground by 5:10? Why do others finish training at ten o'clock at night, but he has to stay until eleven o'clock? Not only that, the content and intensity of his training are three times that of ordinary people.
Why? Is it normal to get up earlier than the rooster and go to bed later than the dog?
He's a leader, after all. Is this really suitable for him?
Yu Zhen could have just said she wanted his life, why torture him like this...?
It's confirmed now; I was picked up from the trash can by Yu Zhen and Lin Ling.
Waaaaah...
"Once you've rested, change your clothes and come out to train." Zuo Li put his hands behind his back and tossed an ID card on the table. "There are still three hours until dinner time."
"Teacher... let's start tomorrow."
Yu Wei held Zuo Li's hand and looked up at him pitifully.
"Stop acting all cutesy. Be serious."
Zuo Li lowered his head and glanced at Yu Wei, unable to hide his disdain.
"Aww, teacher..." Yu Wei tugged at Zuo Li's sleeve persistently, "Let me rest for half a day today and get familiar with the environment..."
"You still need to familiarize yourself with the environment?" Zuo Li slapped Yu Wei on the head. "Be serious, hurry up and change your clothes to come out for training."
"No way~ I need to rest for another half day..." Yu Wei looked at Zuo Li pitifully, "Look, I'm injured..."
"Don't think I don't know. With your current healing ability, even the medical team, if they're even slightly slow, can't keep up with the speed at which your wounds heal." Zuo Li pushed Yu Wei's head with his index finger, earnestly advising, "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, how many tomorrows are there..."
"Okay, okay, stop it, stop it!"
Yu Wei let go, took off his coat and threw it on the chair, and unsurprisingly was scolded by Zuo Li again.
Zuo Li glared at Yu Wei seriously: "Is the chair a place to put clothes?"
"I'll collect it later..."
"Now! Fold it neatly and put it in the closet immediately."
The unquestionable tone left no room for negotiation. Yu Wei shrank back, enduring Zuo Li's murderous glare, picked up the clothes, placed them on the table, and slowly folded them.
“You’re doing it wrong.” Zuo Li grabbed Yu Wei by the back of the neck and pulled him aside, laid the clothes flat on the table, glanced at Yu Wei, and tapped the table with his index finger: “Watch closely, I’ll only demonstrate once.”
“I will come to check your room every day. The blankets on the bed and the clothes in the closet must be exactly as you see them today, and the sheets cannot have a single wrinkle.”
"The desktop must be tidy. Books should be arranged from left to right in order of height, and toiletries should be arranged in the same order. Do you understand?"
Yu Wei: "..." Not quite sure~
"Sigh." Looking at the person in front of him who had lost his mind and looked completely dumbfounded, Zuo Li finally couldn't help but sigh: "You've been free for three years, and you can't do it all in a short time."
Upon hearing this, Yu Wei's eyes lit up, eager to hear from Zuo Li something like, "It's okay if you do a little worse," or "We don't make any demands on you."
Unfortunately, Zuo Li is a very strict teacher who cannot tolerate the slightest flaw. "So you must be even more demanding of yourself."
"To encourage you to learn as soon as possible, I've decided to incorporate housekeeping into your daily training routine. I'll check your housekeeping every morning; if anything is not up to standard, you'll have to do an extra three kilometers, and so on..."
"hiss."
Yu Wei pinched his philtrum and almost fainted.
Is this even human language? He already has a lot of training, and if he adds more, he won't even need to eat or sleep. He'll be exhausted to death.
“You are their leader, their role model. If you can’t even do a good job yourself, what reason do you have to expect your subordinates to do better than you?” Zuo Li patted Yu Wei on the shoulder and said earnestly, “Young man, you have a long way to go.”
The military, a relatively enclosed environment, places great emphasis on the principle of "leading by example." Zuo Li, who has trained many classes of trainees, is well aware of this principle: "If one's conduct is upright, one's orders will be followed even without being given; if one's conduct is not upright, one's orders will not be followed even if given."
"I tried my best..."
"It's not about trying your best, it's about making sure you do it." Zuo Li said seriously, "If you can't do it, then you'll be punished."
"Okay, I'll try my best."
Yu Wei pouted, unable to understand why that idiot would like such a rigid place; it wasn't fun at all.
"I hope you take everything seriously and participate fully in every training session." Zuo Li straightened up, looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar face in front of him: "You were once my pride, the pride of everyone."
"I'm going to change my clothes."
Yu Wei grabbed his clothes and ran into the cramped bathroom as if fleeing. He kept repeating the same few sentences over and over again until everyone was tired of hearing it.
After changing his clothes, Yu Wei slowly folded them and put them in the closet, then strolled leisurely to the training ground, swaying his belt.
"Disheveled attire affects military appearance." Zuo Li showed no mercy to Yu Wei, raising a timer: "You have one minute to straighten your clothes, or you'll have extra training."
"Holy crap! You wait..."
One minute wasn't enough time, so Yu Wei could only hastily button up his clothes and fasten his belt.
The result was clearly substandard. Zuo Li looked at the crooked buttons and belt and pinched his philtrum in anger.
