Chi Yanhuai gently covered her lips and whispered, "There's something wrong with the child he's holding."
"Something's wrong?" She uttered vague and fragmented words of doubt from the lips that he was covering. Her bright eyes turned and she said, "I'm familiar with this. I want to see if it's what I guessed." As she spoke, she was about to stick her head out.
The little head just popped out a little when Chi Yanhuai pushed it back. He said helplessly, "It's better to have less trouble than more. I'm worried that something might happen to you. My brother is coming today too, so we should be more cautious."
Seeing his serious and determined expression, Tang Anan, who was being held down, sighed softly and looked at him with a slightly pout, "Okay."
It depends on the situation. I'll agree to your request for now.
Tang Anan looked out of the door through the crack and saw the old man nimbly dodging some zombies. He looked strong and vigorous. If it weren't for his old face, he really didn't look like an old man.
Looking at the child he was holding, he looked younger than her. The child had his eyes closed tightly, and it was unclear whether he had fainted or was dead.
The old man hid in the warehouse, gently placed the child on the ground, picked up a kitchen knife and frantically chopped the zombies that had been chasing him, then closed the door with a "bang".
He panted and slid down the wall, dropping the kitchen knife. He looked up at the child beside him and quickly picked her up again. He patted her back with his rough, blood-stained hands, as if to comfort her. "Xiaohui, you must be starving. Grandpa will find you something to eat. Don't sleep. You won't be able to get up if you fall asleep."
As he spoke, he slowly stood up and walked forward, holding her in his arms, looking for food on the shelves. However, all the food that hadn't expired had been put into Tang Anan's personal space, so how could there be anything edible left here?

Tang Anan, who was hiding in the dark with Chi Yanhuai, saw the scene clearly through the crack. She lowered her eyes, her emotions flashing across her mind. She then looked at Chi Yanhuai beside her and whispered, "Ah, the door is closed."
"What should we do?" she asked, but her expression didn't seem to indicate that she really wanted Chi Yanhuai to give an answer. She added, "That old man is a bit pitiful. I don't know if the baby is still alive."
"You're not someone who's easily moved by emotion, An'an." Chi Yanhuai frowned slightly, and placed his warm hand on her shoulder. "Let's go. We can only take care of him temporarily, but not forever. If he wants to go with us, I'm afraid we won't be able to protect him."
"I know." Tang Anan looked at the old man who was still anxiously looking for food and whispered, "If we lose our watchfulness and don't do everything carefully, we might get bitten back, just like the farmer and the snake."
"Then why?" Chi Yanhuai stared into her clear eyes and opened his thin lips slightly: "You want to help him, what's the reason?"
She blinked and said casually, "Maybe it's because the child looks a bit like me."
Upon hearing this, Chi Yanhuai chuckled and shook his head, "Children like you are probably rare in this world. Even adults may not have the ability you have."
Tang Anan pursed her lips and smiled: "I'm not talking about ability, it's just that the scene reminded me of something." She took out two loaves of bread that were easy to fill you up and a bottle of milk, and had the doll quietly placed on the shelf behind the old man where he couldn't see.
Chi Yanhuai glanced at the food on the shelf, then looked down at her. His eyes, as deep as the lake, swayed slightly like the wind. He rubbed her head and said, "Okay, make your own decision. As long as your life is not in danger, I won't stop you."
