Chapter 27.
Cultivators don't need much sleep, and Mo Qi hadn't actually fallen asleep, so he knew that Mo Xiu had left.
Just like last time, the man silently released his divine sense to follow the other party.
Unaware that she was being followed, Mo Xiu used her wind-based abilities to accelerate her journey and quickly reached the vicinity of her destination.
Because Xu Liang had ordered his men to strengthen the guards after he killed Ren Zha in the middle of the night a few days ago. But in Mo Xiu's opinion, it was still far from enough.
At least for him, sneaking in here quietly would still be easy.
In particular, Bian Tai's residence was slightly more remote than Ren Zha's. After all, as his name suggests, the things Bian Tai did in the past were truly perverted.
Even though it was almost common knowledge, he still had to be somewhat restrained on the surface because he was Xu Liang's subordinate.
As expected, like master, like servant; they all wear a mask of hypocrisy.
However, this location of residence made it more convenient for Mo Xiu to move around.
Looking through the window, Mo Xiu saw that the room was completely dark, guessing that the other person was probably already asleep. Bian Tai lived on the third floor, which was a little more difficult to climb than the second floor, but fortunately Mo Xiu knew the way well.
If it were one level higher, I'd probably have to find a way to sneak in through the main gate.
To Mo Xiu's surprise, this time when he entered the room through the window, he found the bed empty. Bian Tai was not in the room at all; it seemed he had already gone out.
Didn't we agree to cultivate our character? Why are you out so late at night? That scumbag's words are always unreliable. But where could he be in the middle of the night?
Mo Xiu speculated in his mind that perhaps it was due to a sixth sense, but the image of a person appeared in his mind.
Although there was a chance that her guess was wrong, Mo Xiu decided to go and see for herself, remembering her promise to Cheng Cheng.
So, Mo Xiu rushed to Xie Wu's residence as quickly as possible.
The living areas of different people in the Shanhe Base are clearly divided, just like the superpowered people and the high-ranking people, who all occupy the best locations in the base.
Most of the laborers like Xie Wu, who lack special abilities, are concentrated in the East District.
Fortunately, Mo Xiu remembered that the other party had mentioned to Cheng Cheng that he lived in a white RV.
Using her wind-based superpower, Mo Xiu quickly found the other person's residence. Perhaps because they didn't like being disturbed, the RV was parked in a rather remote location.
The eastern area is somewhat chaotic, so the safety of the RV in this location is not a major concern. In the distance, you can see a small campfire burning next to the RV, along with neatly stacked firewood.
But as she got closer, Mo Xiu heard some chaotic noises. There were clanging and clattering sounds, the sound of things falling, and a man's angry roar.
"Get out! I'd rather die than let you succeed!"
Upon hearing this, Mo Xiu rushed over. She saw Xie Wu standing outside the RV, holding a machete and looking nervously at Bian Tai.
The man looked rather disheveled compared to how he appeared during the day; his clothes were in disarray, and there were bruises on the corners of his mouth, indicating that he had been beaten.
Bian Tai is a very tall and burly bald man with superhuman strength abilities; ordinary people are no match for him.
Even though Xie Wu's actual height is over 1.8 meters, compared to Bian Tai, he is still much smaller and doesn't have any advantage at all.
Seeing the man opposite her with a lewd smile on his face, Xie Wu felt nauseous.
He knew that in this situation, even if someone overheard him and saw that the other person was Bian Tai, they probably wouldn't have the guts to help him. So what exactly did he need to do to kill this bastard in front of him?!
Gritting his teeth, Xie Wu knew that no matter how much he begged for mercy, the other party would not let him go, so he simply chose to strike first and rushed towards Bian Tai without regard for anything else.
But given the disparity in strength, his machete was easily snatched away and thrown away. Then, he was pinned to the ground by the burly bald man.
"Little beauty, just give in to me! What's wrong with being with me? I guarantee you'll live the high life. If you don't obey, I'll have to use force!"
Byun Tae said threateningly, his face full of a triumphant smile.
Smelling the nauseating odor emanating from the person opposite her, Xie Wu closed her eyes in despair.
But at that moment, the person restraining him suddenly stopped moving and let out a painful cry.
"Who?! Who is this damned bastard who's up to this?!" Bian Tai roared angrily.
Upon hearing this, Xie Wu immediately opened her eyes and saw that Bian Tai's body had been bound by layers of thorny vines.
The thorns on the vines pierced the man's skin, causing him to bleed profusely and howl in pain.
Bian Tai turned his head and saw the rainbow-headed figure controlling the vines not far away. His eyes filled with anger and murderous intent.
So what if he's a plant-based ability user? A mere brat dares to block his way, so he'd better be prepared to learn a lesson!
Mo Xiu, who was not far away, raised an eyebrow upon seeing this and withdrew the foot he was about to step out. He was still somewhat surprised that Cheng Cheng was here.
Why is this kid still up in the middle of the night, coming to find Xie Wu?
This was the first time he had ever seen his opponent use a move with thorny vines. Mo Xiu felt inexplicably gratified and decided to observe for a while to see if Cheng Cheng could defeat Bian Tai on his own.
The scene was chaotic, and no one noticed Mo Xiu in the hidden spot.
Xie Wu quickly seized the opportunity to break free from Bian Tai's grasp, and then he saw clearly that the one who had helped him was Cheng Cheng, who was standing not far away from him.
The other person was still holding the other end of the vine, and his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat. It seemed that he was trying hard to trap Bian Tai.
Xie Wu breathed a sigh of relief when he saw it was Cheng Cheng. He was incredibly grateful for this unexpected turn of events. Even more so, he felt gratitude towards Cheng Cheng.
However, what he didn't know was that the actual situation wasn't as optimistic as it seemed; Bian Tai's superpowers weren't so easily bound by vines.
Cheng Cheng's plant-based superpower was only at level two, so its attack power was quite limited. Activating the mutation of the vines to make them grow thorns had already consumed a large amount of his superpower.
So he then saw the trapped man quickly break free of the vines, tearing them all apart.
The moment he broke free of the vines, Bian Tai glared at Cheng Cheng with malice and said viciously, "You brat, how dare you ruin my plans! I'll kill you!"
Seeing this, Cheng Cheng quickly spurred the growth of even more vines. However, it was clear that these vines were no match for the strength of the power user.
Bian Tai seemed to be in a killing frenzy, completely disregarding the thorns that pricked him, which resulted in the vines he cultivated being torn to shreds by his opponent.
"Hahaha, none of you are getting away! Take a closer look, this plant-powered kid is actually quite good-looking. You'd better wait patiently to be pampered by me!"
Bian Tai smiled cruelly, his face and body riddled with bloody holes from the vines. Yet, seemingly oblivious to the pain, he continued to tear through the vine barrier, advancing towards them and bringing the atmosphere of terror and oppression to its peak.
Feeling his supernatural power dwindling, Cheng Cheng knew he wouldn't be able to hold on much longer. He anxiously shouted to Xie Wu, who was not far away, "Run! I probably can't hold out much longer! Go find Brother Mo and the boss for help!"
Xie Wu looked at Cheng Cheng, who was still trying to buy himself a chance to escape, not far away. Thinking of the implied meaning in Bian Tai's words, her eyes darkened.
If he runs away now and tries to find someone to come back, there won't be enough time to save Cheng Cheng!
Thinking of this, Xie Wu noticed a dagger tucked into Cheng Cheng's waist. He quickly ran over, pulled the dagger from Cheng Cheng's waist, and shouted, "Help me restrain him!"
After saying that, he charged towards Bian Tai again without any regard for anything else.
Cheng Cheng also lived up to expectations. After understanding Xie Wu's intentions, he used all his remaining supernatural abilities to grow vines, almost wrapping the opponent in half a cocoon.
Xie Wu followed closely behind with the dagger, plunging it into the man's carotid artery.
Instantly, blood gushed out.
Blood gushed from the other man's mouth as he stared in disbelief at the man he had once considered a weak prey.
Seeing this, Xie Wu felt as if his heart was about to stop, but he didn't stop. After pulling out the dagger, he immediately stabbed the other man many more times.
He stabbed again and again, as if to ensure the elimination of danger, or as if trying to overcome the fear in his heart.
When the person trapped in the vines finally stopped moving, Xie Wu collapsed to the ground as if all her strength had been exhausted.
Cheng Cheng was also lying half-reclined on the ground at this moment, his superpowers completely exhausted. It was even worse than when he was chased by his two companions who had turned into zombies; he couldn't even stimulate the growth of half a mushroom.
The two survivors looked at each other, both with smiles of relief at surviving the ordeal.
But then, Cheng Cheng's expression suddenly changed, and he pointed behind Xie Wu.
Xie Wu realized what was happening, but before he could react, a large hand suddenly gripped his neck tightly. Turning his head, he was met with Bian Tai's face, half of which was covered in blood.
I never expected that even after stabbing him so many times, he wouldn't be completely dead. It seems he's saving his last bit of strength, intending to take me down with him.
Just as Xie Wu was despairing and thought he was doomed, suddenly, the arm that was restraining him was severed in the middle. Immediately afterward, the other person's head was cut off.
Xie Wu was completely dumbfounded when he saw the corpse that had become mangled in an instant.
It took Xie Wu a while to come to her senses before she realized that Mo Xiu had somehow found her. Mo Xiu was still holding the wood-chopping knife that Bian Tai had taken and thrown away earlier.
Seeing that Xie Wu was unharmed, Cheng Cheng quickly patted his chest and looked at Mo Xiu excitedly, saying, "Brother Mo, that's great! Luckily you came! Otherwise, we might all be done for here!"
